This mesh router system is a step up on a few levels. #1 - The units are WiFi 6 with wider bandwidth to deal with more wireless traffic. #2 - The set-up was straight forward and satellite units connected very easily. The base unit / controller connected easily with the router provided by my fiber ISP. Setting the SSID / WIFI network name was easy and all wifi devices were accepted with fresh IP addresses via the onboard DHCP server. This is an improvement / step up in functionality and response. Devices that are able to use the 5G and advanced features of wifi 6 have noticeable improvement in speed, connectivity and stability. The 5G signal is stronger than the previous unit. The 2.4G signal and stability have vastly improved with a much quicker response in connectivity and throughput.     • Coverage with brick walls

I bought the Tenda Nova MW3 2 nodes pack for my house, my house it's around 1200 Square foot. The description about MW3 2 nodes pack offer to you a coverage up to 3000 sq.ft of course depend to the walls types. In my case, I've brick with concrete walls, this is the common construction method in many parts of south america. The coverage it's good but the distance between nodes it's max 107sq.ft for stable connection, and when I separate more than 2 rooms the nodes are disconnected. So I had to connect both nodes in the center of the house on two near rooms. Now the coverage gets all my house but in some part with a little bit less connection. I'm very satisfied with my MW3 because the wifi velocity now is double fast and it's stablished, the coverage it's not crazy but is good. In conclusion, if you gonna buy MW3 and have bricks walls maybe you coverage reduce to 40 or 50% and depending of your size house, it's better buy 3 nodes. Works great. I needed a mesh system because some of my iot devices could not use repeaters and were too far from the main router. Making a smooth transition from a Tenda AC10 router, several servers, reserved IPs, separate SSIDs and one extender took some planning and it took several hours to understand and navigate the Tenda app and web interface setup to do what I needed to do. The app is what I used to setup the network initially, then I moved to the web interface and deleted the app. However, if you have a simple network - it should be very easy because the setup in the app is geared for simple networks. And once you have one node setup, the other nodes set themselves up automatically after plugging them in. ... show more

    • Horrible product and nonexistent support...

Purchased on May 3, 2026, and now all three units no longer work as they keep powering off after about two minutes after powering on. I tried several times to reset them, and they will not go into reset mode and then power off automatically after about two minutes. I find it very odd that all three units stopped working at the same time, powering themselves off after about two minutes, and also will not reset using the reset button. I have tried getting support via their website and by phone. Website directs me to call support and when I call their US support number, I'm either directed to use their website or leave a phone message which abruptly hangs up on me when trying to leave a message. Apparently, Tenda does not want to support their devices after purchase. If I could leave zero stars that is what I would leave. ... show more

    • Second set, more issues

Second set of Tenda devices (different models) and similar problems with both. The first set had great speeds; I was getting all 250mbps that I'm paying Comcast but there was a strange problem of bottlenecking on Messenger and a couple other apps that I use daily. I ignored it for a little while but ended up getting fed up and returning the devices. Prime Day came around and this system was available at a great price but these have more problems. The bottlenecking is still happening (messages get backed up and then randomly come through all at once or I have to physically open up Messenger or other app so get notifications) and the speed is terrible. I dropped my old router for a mesh setup but as a troubleshooting and verification step, I have been swapping in my old router to ensure it is in fact the Tenda system causing the notification issue. Also, my old router is achieving better speeds. As mentioned, I pay for 250mbps and no matter the device or time tlof day, the best I've recorded through speedtest.net is about 65mbps. All firmware is updated and all settings are correct and it's just not good. I have had several problems of YouTube videos getting stuck in a buffer loop and photos come through Messenger really slow, etc., definitely not something that should be happening with cable internet. I have tested my wife's phone as well as my tablet and have also observed slow speeds on my laptop. Is quality control bad? Are they falsely advertising speeds to sell units? I don't know the answer but this setup is going back to Amazon. Despite my problems, there is some good stuff. Setup was super easy with the Tenda app. They look really cool and match my decor well. The signal is strong throughout my house as well as reliable despite the slow speeds. The app let's you easily control a lot of different things so it's quite versatile. Oh, and the price is right. I wanted to like these, and Tenda, but I'm not having any luck. Maybe down the road I will try again; third time's the charm, am I right? ... show more

I had an older Tenda product, the Nova series. The installation and set up for this product was straight forward primarily because I knew what I was doing and what to expect. The app works well. In the previous product there is a ‘smart’ feature that for 30 minutes works to connect 2.4Ghz devices. I felt this newer product took longer to connect 2.4Ghz devices and does not have the ‘smart’ feature, it has ‘optimize’ which I think does the same thing. I recommend this product. ... show more

My modem had to be set up in the basement, which usually means weak coverage upstairs, but this mesh system completely solved the problem.
