We have skunks in our neighborhood, so I wanted to see if setting up motion-detection lights would scare them away. The good news is that it does. The better news is that these lights work great! The lights have several modes of operation, but for my needs I wanted them off at night until motion was detected, then turn on bright. I didn't know exactly where the skunks were entering my yard, so I set the two lights in this pack at different positions on the porch; one facing directly into the street, and one facing into the side yard by the garage. They vendor recommends placing them high for the best motion detection, but I wanted my lights down close to the bushes, where the skunks are likely to enter. It turns out the motion detection is amazing; when I drive my car up the driveway, about 20 fee from the installed side yard light, it triggers the light on. The light is sitting about 2 feet from the ground, and yet it still noticed the car entering the driveway. Installation was trivially easy; the vendor provides screws and adhesive tape for various mount points, but I decided to use tie wraps instead, which worked fine for me. The lights came fully charged, so it will be interesting to see how they perform over time. However, I'm happy to report that my skunk problem seems under control. Maybe the vendor should consider marketing it as a rodent repellent as well... Recommended! ... show more

At first, I was kind of take aback because these looked to be so small. But once night came, I was really impressed with how much light this puts out. Being in a rig we don't have the greatest auto lighting features that we have at a typical residential home. I purchased these because of the adhesive mounting option. I don't usually want to put holes in my rig, so I usually purchase devices that have an adhesive option. I mounted one at our front door, since that is usually the place that doesn't have effective lighting. The other, I mounted on a smooth surface at the front of the trailer near the hitch; it gives that area a lot needed light. The lights have three lighting options, which can be controlled with the little white button on the front of the light, under the sensor. Motion detection was really good, and it activated the light while I was about 14 feet away from the light. The adhesive has kept the light up so I'm happy with that. There multiple ways to mount these, so choose the option that best fits you. With all the sun we get here in TX, I am not worried about the batteries dying at all. The housing is made of a strong plastic and the seals are really good. I am not worried about weathering hurting this device at all. Super impressed with the amount of light it puts out, and super happy with this device. I would recommended this device to anyone who is looking to light up darker areas of their home, or need light when there is no electrical hookups ... show more

I love solar powered LED lights. I have several different brands around my house. Theses work well. The motion detection is very good. They do not require alot of direct sunlight to charge. I have them attached to some pine trees, so they get filtered sunlight and seem to charge just fine. They are a little smaller and not quite as bright as some others I have bought, but they work fine for a small area. You can see from the before and after pictures how they light up an area. ... show more

Picked these up for deck stairs. Turns out, you only need one. Build and finish our of standard quality. The kit comes with two lights, two double sided tape, and two screw sets. The AA battery in the picture is for size comparison. The back is held in place with Phillips head screws, but there’s no need to actually remove the back as the battery and casement is not one you could swap out with rechargeable batteries. The design of the battery placement is smart in that it’s at the top of the device. If water were to get in the casing and settle, the battery and electronics would not be harmed. The additional side lights are very nice and why are you really only need one light for scenarios like this. A well placed light can cover an entire stairwell. Watch the placement as the light is extremely bright, and can blind you if you are walking up the stairs before your eye level gets above the light. The first stairwell picture is on medium brightness with motion. The second is on bright after the motion was tripped. Given proper sunlight, the battery will last all night on the medium, bright with motion setting. ... show more

These solar lights are far and away much better than the old ones I am replacing. For starters, they are very bright (even in the dim setting). Each have 200+ LEDS and they are set in an array that spreads the light over a large arc. Three intuitive settings allow you to have constant light or choose two security settings that will light upon intrusion. We are most interested in providing light to our deck, and we have moved them around during the last week to determine the best placement. While we tested them successfully on the motion sensor setting, I don’t expect to use them in that manner. For mounting/ installation , these fixtures come with double faced tape and two screws are provided for more permanent installation. We do get long and strong sunlight from before noon until 4 PM. With that, these lights were fully charged. They worked well throughout the night and still were at full lighting power past dawn. We have had several storms come through, and the product seems to be properly waterproofed . These TECKNET solar lights appear to be a significant upgrade compared to early solar versions sold just 3-4 years ago. I hope to get several years of service without failure. For me, that would make these solar lights a good value. ... show more
