I bought this after reading several reviews. I recently moved into an older home from the 1920s, and the range that was in here just had to go. I am still renovating and needing something simple to help do some light cooking. After giving it a go, I am so impressed!! Positives * Love the look, I would love a black stainless but the stainless steel is a nice look overall. * Boiled water VERY fast for me, I read some reviews where it was iffy for them but I had no issues at all. Just a medium-sized regular pot for me and it did the job very quickly. * Also was able to scramble some eggs quite quickly as well. Over all, tends to heat thoroughly for me. Negatives * I wish it had a different temperature knob on it, so you knew from "Low - High" etc. You can pretty much figure it out with ease though. * Only other negative I had was, just because I sometimes run about doing other things, I wish it had an alarm that could be set to remind that its turned on. Yes, it has a light so you can just utilize that, but I tend to set myself alarms on my phone anytime I utilize kitchen items just to make sure I remember to turn them off. Would just be a nice quality of life addition, nothing really horrible by not having one. Outside of that, I am so excited and happy to get to use this little burner. If you're looking for something at a good price point, and need a burner for anything, I would totally recommend grabbing this! ... show more

    • Works Great! Unplug When Done

This is a great little set-up for my cabin. I use it mostly for heating up water for doing dishes and some cooking. The bigger burner is a work horse - boils a gallon of water pretty fast for a little unit. I don't use the smaller burner much. I bought a couple large silicone heat absorber pads to put under the unit, but they've never really gotten hot. Still not a bad idea to do this just as a precaution. I do want to comment on the continuing heat after turning the unit off. Per the product description: "It takes about 20 minutes for the burner to cool completely, which helps keep the food warm for a long time." My experience: once water got to near boiling state, I would turn off the burner, but the water continued to boil - there's no immediate slowdown like a regular stove burner. I've now made it a habit to unplug the unit to get the heat source to stop sooner than later. Other than the continuing heat after shut-off, (which some people might be okay with...) it does a good job. ... show more

Had a dent on the front stainless steel so I returned it. I might buy it again later. One of the main reasons I bought it was because my gas burners put a lot of heat in the house. The item was a lot smaller than I pictured. I picked that one because the handles seem to be a safety feature as opposed to a pot just sitting on a burner. Where do I even begin my praise of this nothing-looking little kitchen appliance? Oh yes. It saved the holiday season of 2022. My gas stove-range broke Thanksgiving week 2022. I have used this item several times for steaks, and it's a great item to use to cook with your kids because you can bring the cooking surface down to their height.
