I read most of the reviews on this item before purchasing, especially the negative ones with low ratings. I saw that every bad review was due to each customer stating that the unit they had purchased and only used once, was not boiling water because of the high heat cutting out and it took up to a few hours to boil a pot of water?? A few hours??? I wasn’t sure how that could be possible since it seemed sufficient and was reviewed by most to have no issue cooking any kind of food including meats which must have a certain core temperature to declare it fully cooked. 1800W is quite a bit of energy for a 120v unit, and that was my main concern for I cannot afford high utility bills. After receiving this product I first tested the water boiling issue since most want to use it for that purpose, especially a single guy like me who eats a lot of pasta and likes to cook quickly without much cleanup. I used a lower amount of water, about 2 1/2 cups to test this and the pot of H2O would get very close to a boil but would not get there due to high heat cutout. It was obvious that it wouldn’t ever boil at that rate but the unit was on full heat. Instead of saying this is a piece of junk, I used my working brain to troubleshoot this issue and knew there was a solution to this since most people are cooking things that require the use of 2-3 cups of water. High heat has to cut out at times to prevent unit overheating which would damage or destroy the elements if not regulated, but the water could not maintain temp if the heat was being consistently cut off. If you see steam rising from your pot of water and it’s not boiling or even coming close, just remember that heat escapes to wherever the temp is cooler, like taking a shower with the door or curtain open, so you keep it shut, right? Same thing applies here, and the way to keep the heat in a pot is what? Yes, put a lid on the pot while heating to boil!! It WILL boil in no longer than 5-7 minutes if you keep a lid over the pot, not immediately writing a bad review and calling it a useless piece of junk. I mean, wow! It took me 5 minutes to figure this out, and, honestly, it’s common sense. To see that many people saying that is unbelievable to me and shows how ignorant and simple minded some people are. Instead of trying to solve the problem and just going right to their manifestos online to bitch and moan about one of the easiest devices to use, it’s like they didn’t want it to work just to write something negative to support their own personalities. Your standard kitchen stovetop uses 220-240V nominally, so obviously a 120V portable burner will take more latent heat to achieve the same result. Trapping the heat inside the pot will increase the temp of whatever is inside it, yes even water, and will hold that heat even when burner cycles off. Very annoying to see how many times the same thing was written, just the laziness and lack of common sense is mind blowing to me. I know it probably hurts there heads to think about something other than the likes they received on their Facebook of their cat licking itself, so maybe you shouldn’t have the device anyway since it’s way too advanced for those idiots. And once it boils you can even remove the lid and it will remain boiling, and also will prevent it from boiling over and flashing off water to make the level lower. I’m not trying to be a smart ass, just baffling to me to see the immediate tantrums people throw because they don’t understand the basic physics of things, I mean how were you even able to complete the order for the thing. Not even my product and I’m offended by this. Just a realist so I have to call these clowns out on their attention seeking BS. Just stick to your fast food and keep pretending your an intelligent person, it’s obviously paying off🤣🤣 ... show more

They had to turn off the gas stoves in my apartment building due to a leak. Tenants were advised it would take 4-5 weeks for the repairmen to check the whole building and have the city sign off on repairs so the landlord agreed to reimburse a hot plate or toaster oven for each apartment. After looking at a few options, I chose this one because the two burners were the same size. Other options in a similar price range had a large and a small burner. I'm very happy with this purchase. It heats up super fast and is easy to clean. As with any electric stove top, it's hard to judge the temperature when you start using it so expect to burn a few things. Or maybe it's that the dials that regulate the temperature are very sensitive so it's easy to overheat. Either way, you learn pretty quickly how to judge the temp and cooking goes well. I'm not a fan of electric stove tops versus gas, but in a pinch this has worked. ... show more

I USE THIS EVERYDAY IN MY WINTER EFFICIENCY. I TOOK OUT THE STOVE AND GAVE MYSELF ADDITIONAL COUNTER SPACE. BUILT IN OVEN AND THESE BURNERS ARE THE ESSENTIAL IF YOU HAVE SMALL SPACE. I UNPLUG AFTER EACH USE TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT ACCIDENTALLY LEFT ON .
