Brrrrrrr! "It's cold in here" is the latest saying around this place. Keeps the inside temperature below 70° despite the 100°+ weather we're having now and how poorly insulated this place is. Noise is a non-issue because it's installed in the kitchen window and blows into the living room area without any trouble. Pleasing white noise. The most remarkable thing is the power of the fan. We're very comfortable with the fan on LOW all the time. I'm thinking that once it gets above 105° that we can turn up the fan speed or just reduce the temperature...or both. We used to dread this time of year living in the central valley of California but not anymore. We're actually quite comfortable now with this powerful AC from TCL. It runs quietly compared to our 5000 BTU window unit that frankly just didn't have enough power to be truly effective. The electric bill is lower, too because we don't have to run it constantly. Sometimes it gets so cold that we have to turn it off! But then the temperature ramps back up but that's not a concern because it's rather powerful and it gets cold again. We had our unit professionally installed and it took about an hour because our kitchen window doesn't have a sash. It opens side-to-side and a plexiglass window was fabricated just for the new AC unit. $140 for installation and $75 for the plexiglass. Game changer !!!! I live in east Texas in a very old poorly insulated house . I’m not young and I’m HOTTT a lot, with that being said my house was running anywhere between 75 and 81 degrees with fans everywhere and 3 window units that have not been getting it done ! Put my new AC unit in yesterday and immediately when I turned it in it was the coldest air and was blowing so hard . In 15 min my house dropped 4 degrees and it’s set to 70°. Today it is 68° in my house and I had to turn it up to 72° cause I was freezing !!! It is a great ac !! Has a lot of condensations but it works gr at !!     • Easy Install, Solid Performance – So Far, So Good

Picked this up after my old Midea unit was recalled. I didn’t know much about TCL air conditioners (though I’m a fan of their TVs), and there weren’t many reviews on this model. Took a chance—and I’m glad I did. Setup was super easy. The window brackets come pre-installed, so all I had to do was place it in the window, fold out the side panels, secure it, and seal it. One of the fastest installs I’ve done. Smart features are a nice bonus. Connecting it to the TCL app took a couple of tries but worked after scanning the QR code on the front right side. It also works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Home, which is great for hands-free control. Cooling performance has been solid. I’ve been using it in a medium-sized living room during some hot Midwestern weather, and it’s kept the space comfortably cool. It does get a bit loud on higher settings, but otherwise runs pretty quietly. Only reason I’m docking one star is long-term reliability. Too soon to say if it’ll hold up through multiple Midwest summers, but so far it’s a great value. I’ll update if anything changes with long-term use. ... show more

Excellent ac! Blows cold and strong. I have it in a 14’x16’ formal living room that is opened up to my large kitchen, a staircase, and a hallway and it keeps that room nice and cold. I will say this is a replacement for the first one I ordered that was all busted up on arrival but Amazon made it right and sent another. This one did arrive with a few dings on the side of the cabinet but nothing that will prevent it from operating correctly. Overall I’m happy with this replacement unit. ... show more

    • Not energy efficient and bad condensation

I bought 3 of these units and currently am planning to return at least one of them. It has a condensation issue, literally has water misting out of the vent constantly. There is water looking on the vent as well. I also cannot for the life of me get this connected to the wifi. It fails every time I try. Which is one of the main reasons I bought it. Another annoyance - the auto mode is terrible. I can't turn it down below 73° and it also never shuts off the motor, even if I have eco mode on. So I set it to cool to have it between 70-72 and it runs continuously. My house is an ice castle and ends up being like 67-68, which is great, but the unit should shut off to save energy...like a normal AC with a thermostat. I'm considering returning all three with all of these issues, just really disappointed in this purchase. ... show more

Looooove my AC unit, my studio is 350 sqft and it cools down in like 40 minutes from being in the 80s. It’s not completely quiet but it works as white noise for me, but it’s not crazy loud. I love that I can turn it on and off with my Alexa, and I can program it so it turns on 30 minutes before I arrive home from work. ... show more

Product is great so far it really works good the installation was a little difficult because the installation manual is the worst I've ever seen as in service for 36 years and the guy that wrote this manual knew exactly what he was doing and for somebody that doesn't know what they're doing it needed some work that and they made no provision for to tilt the window to get that 3% drainage on it the window is parallel the the rack that the holes are the piece that holds that goes on to the sash of the window that keeps it from falling out needs to be about a quarter inch taller so that your window you know can work properly you know you can go down I had to cut part of the bottom of the window off so that the window would go down onto that top of the air conditioner rest on that but other than that it was other than the installation manual and that problem with the whole installation manual is little teeny and it's very hard to understand I just need to spend another 50 cent on the installation manual ... show more
