I picked this up shortly after launch so there's almost no information out there on this model yet. Hopefully this helps someone on the fence. Picture Quality The blacks on this TV are genuinely shocking for a Mini LED. I was skeptical of the marketing claims but they deliver. We're talking OLED-competitive black levels in real viewing conditions. The local dimming is doing serious work here. On the other end, peak brightness is aggressive. Certain HDR scenes will literally make you squint. If you want a TV that pops in a bright room, this absolutely delivers. Setup and Interface The TV runs Google TV natively. The menus took a little getting used to at first but once you find your way around it becomes second nature. Running an ONN Streaming Pro box for all my content alongside it. Streaming apps work great, and for 4K Blu-rays and other high quality content I use Emby, which handles HDR passthrough beautifully on this panel. At 85 inches the 4K picture is just ridiculous. Delivery and Install Had it delivered with the unpack and setup service and it went really smoothly. The team was excellent, professional, and handled an 85 inch TV with care. Highly recommend using the service if it's offered to you. The One Complaint Reflectivity. The screen is fairly glossy and picks up light sources in the room. If your setup has windows or lamps behind or beside you, you'll notice it. Not a dealbreaker but worth knowing before you buy. Bottom Line For the price, this thing punches way above its class. I've been a fan of TCL TVs for years now and this is the best one yet. It's amazing that TCL can make so many different types of products and excel at all of them. I'm not easily impressed by televisions but this one is truly next level. I'd seen the mini LED sets at stores and was impressed by the color but you can't really appreciate it completely until you get it in your home. I'm a huge hockey fan and watching the Stanley Cup playoffs on this TV is a revelation. The color and picture quality are downright epic. I'll let you read the technical details yourself but all I know is that the on screen images are extremely sharp and the colors are more vivid than you can imagine. One of the coolest features is the AIPQ processor which uses AI to control picture clarity, contrast, color, motion, upscaling and backlighting for the best possible combination. On screen motion is amazingly smooth which is particularly impressive for hockey. The picture isn't the only impressive feature. This TV has better 'out of the box' sound quality than any I've ever owned. That's due to the integrated Bang & Olufsen audio speakers in the rear of the unit. You can further enhance the audio quality with a wireless subwoofer and more speakers. There's integrated Google Gemini AI that can help you get the most out of your TV and the programs you watch. The voice remote works well and I appreciate the fact that they showed some 'restraint' with its design. Some TV remotes throw on as many buttons as they can which ends up being a mess. This remote does everything you need but doesn't overdo it. I really can't overemphasize how awesome this TV is. It's not the cheapest TV on the market but factoring in the quality and features the price point is extremely reasonable. This TV was the perfect size for a small den. Even facing a window, the contrast and brightness was superb and very clear, really amazing for such a bight, harsh environment. Color was great after setup, but like a lot of TV's the default colors are over saturated and unnatural. After calibration it looked fantastic. The high refresh rate was great for gaming, but not quite as good as a dedicated gaming monitor. With Bang & Olufsen sound, you'd expect something special, and this TV does have all the bells and whistles including Dolby Atmos. Sound was definitely better than other TV's I've used, and it even has special settings for wall-mount vs free-standing to tune the sound. That said, you just can't beat physics. The small, thin nature of TVs just doesn't allow for great sounding speakers. Paired with an A/V receiver via eARC, it sounds far better than anything the internal speakers can do. The TV supports Google TV and AirPlay, and casting from my iPhone to the TV was no problem. Another neat feature was built-in artwork, so you can use it to display art when not in use. That's a huge advantage over OLED: Mini-LED won't burn in, so a static display like artwork is safe for this TV, while impossible with OLED. One last thing I noticed: during the whole setup process there was very little friction or Ads. Some TVs are just billboards in your home, but this one didn't push me to buy anything. I set it up quickly and easily and didn't see any ads (other than showing what subscription apps are available, like NetFlix). Looking at its network traffic on my router, everything is reasonable with occasional calls to Google APIs. Normal for a Goole TV. If you want to approach the picture of an OLED with no worries about ambient light or burn-in, this TV is an excellent value. I love it! ... show more

Review is for 65QM751G bought July 2024 brand new on Amazon. Yesterday the TV shut off by itself after 10 minutes of use. When I turn it on, no sound will come out from side speakers, only muffled sound from subwoofer. Spent some time with online chat support. Basically said my warranty is out and I should bring it to a local repair shop to have it looked at and order part from their part store. Just to inform other potential buyers that this TV last less than 2 years so If you are going to blindly trust TCL QA and gamble, you might end up like me. I have had TCL tvs since about 2017 and have about 10 of them in my rental properties. They've all been fantastic, but also have been budget tvs overall. Nothing special about them but always worked. So I was shocked at how nice this TCL QM7L is! Its the first QLED tv I've seen, I've had the older LEDs and the high end OLED and the QLED this has is significantly better than I thought it would be. The picture and 144hz refresh rate make this a phenominal TV. If you haven't had OLED and only have had cheaper TVs, this will blow you away. The features on this are also fantastic. The sleep timer is super easy to get too, the auto brightness is also great in a bedroom or room that gets lots of sunlight. Never had a tv with that feature and its absolutely awesome for not having an overly bright tv on at night. The audio on this is probably my favorite part. I've had all the "marketing" audio enhancements and none of them lived up to expectations, resulting in sound bars on all the tvs I use. This is now the ONLY tv without a sound bar. While its not in a living room, its absolutely perfect sound for a bedroom. The audio has great depth without any soundbar and is actually enjoyable to listen too. You don't need to crank it to hear speech or music. Its also my first google tv, and at first I loved it. This tv took less than 5 minutes to setup, without logging in. Great! However, I quickly realized you couldn't download any apps without logging in, so you are forced to login to a google account to update the apps. This really sucks having to link an account to a bedroom tv, which took another 20 minutes to update and get setup. You can go into "app-only" mode but that still requires you to login first. Super annoying. With that said, Google TV (at least on this) runs significantly better than the TCL Roku TVs I have. Its quick and smooth. This is a fantastic TV with amazing audio for a flat screen. 1 star off for the intrusive google tv OS on it. Will definitely be updating other tvs to the larger sizes in this series from TCL. ... show more

I'm very please with this 55" TCL TV. The picture quality alone is simply amazing, everything looks so life like on it. The colors look great with the QLED pixels and looks great in my dim basement. I was also happy with how easy it was to set up, assembly only took me a few minutes (I'll probably need a few more to mount it on my wall in the future.) Overall this tv feels very premium compared to what I've used in the past (a 2015 Insignia tv.) I love having all the built in apps like YouTube, Tubi and Amazon Prime Video. They are very easy to access and run smoothly. It's also very convenient that they are all on the remote control. I love the 55 inch size, it's just right for my basement room. I have had this tv for almost a month now and I am thoroughly impressed with it. I've had mostly Samsung tvs in the past, but their sound quality has always fallen short for me. I replaced one over six months ago with a TCL 55T7 and it has outperformed the Samsung that was in its place before, especially in sound quality. After such a great experience with the first, I had high expectations for this model, but it surpassed them still. Set up is seamless. It doesn't take anytime at all. The picture quality is amazing. The crispness, detail, and sound quality aren't comparable to anything I have had before. Color is rich and dynamic. The tv features two visible speakers on the back. The sound actually fills the room and is full bodied. It doesn't fall flat or need supplemented. We play a good bit on Xbox, and the difference is noticeable there too. A lot more crispness in picture quality as well as outstanding responsiveness. There are a lot of different display and sound modes to experiment with to suit the experience you are looking for.
