I've had this TV for almost a year now and as a film fanatic I have watched a lot of 4K Blu-Ray content and put the 120Hz to the test for video games, and I can say this is an excellent TV for the price range. As usual with any new TV, turn off any of the pointless "motion smoothing" or extra features that claim to improve picture quality (they do not, and often make the picture look worse to a trained eye), and make sure your backlight is set the maximum level to truly appreciate the dynamic range this TV provides. Has all the inputs you should need/expect on any modern TV. Not sure why other people seem to dislike the remote, the automatic backlighting feature is awesome to have and the IR transmitter is powerful enough to not have to point it directly at the TV, but admittedly I very rarely use the remote as I have a media center PC instead. While I don't use any of the Smart TV functions, they all feel very snappy and most things are obvious, but it is unfortunate there are advertisements on all Smart TVs and other devices now. I have a Pixel phone so I can't comment on other brands, but screen casting to this TV works excellent on a good wifi network. TCL TVs use LG panels which are the best in the industry, so the image quality is as good as you will get at this price range. The bezel is extremely thin around the entire display which is nice, I would prefer to see these larger TVs allow you to mount the legs more towards the center of the TV, as unless you are wall-mounting this you will need a TV console at least as wide as the TV itself. Even though this is not a super top of the line TV, UHD Blu-Rays look absolutely incredible, just remember the best viewing distance is about 6-8 feet for a 4K 65" TV. Because of the very high pixel density you can get very close to these 4K screens without being able to notice individual pixels/aliasing, unlike with similar sized 1080p screens. Many people will put their TV further away like 12-14 feet, at which point you need a bigger display (75 or 80 inch) to actually notice the quality increase. Before you size and buy your TV, look up a viewing distance calculator to determine the best size for your needs. Overall a great TV from a time-proven brand.

The tv is superb in every single way I can think of. No DSE, excellent 100k to 1 contrast (with the right settings), near OLED levels HDR. I really can’t believe they put out something with over a hundred backlighting zones and managed keep the price under a grand. If I had to knock one thing it’d be the dimensions. The screen size itself isn’t quite 55 inch’s, but it’s pretty close. It’s also a little on the thick side, but not too dramatic. It can stand toe to toe with my LG QNED90 and that’s really saying something. Also the gradient handling and color are just spectacular, I pegged it at well over 98% DCI P3. For gaming, the the ultra high refresh, backlighting, and freesync all appear to work in tandem.i haven’t had a chance to see how close the color calibration is, but just looking at it looks like it’s within 5 to 10 percent of the most premium displays out there. I really can’t fault it when it comes to a rock solid gaming experience. I installed custom rear lighting and a camera to further improve the contrast and let me tell you, I wouldn’t take any panel under a grand for this one. Most of the time a budget panel will have some nagging issue like capacitor whine, dirty screen, or banding and this baby champs them all. I give it 9/10 for price to performance. I recently reviewed the latest high end Hisense and the DSE/banding was terrible. Basically the HS does get a bit brighter (over 1500 nits vs 1k-1200j, but the TCL handles everything else from glare to clarity so much better.

I am in love with this TV. I upgraded from a 50-inch 1080p TV after having used Retina display Macs for years and you can easily tell the difference with the move to 4K. I remember what an upgrade 1080p was from 540p and 720p and the leap to 4K is no different and perhaps even more impressive. The TV is by no means the brightest in the market but it is compatible with the Dolby Vision output from my Apple TV 4K and it is plenty bright for me. The upgrade here, too, is amazing. I highly suggest playing around in the display settings where you can find presets for many different types of watching or you can mess around and use your own settings. One feature which people love or hate is motion smoothing. You can disable it in the display settings for most content types and connections, but you might want to try it for a while. I’m not sure if it’s a problem of the TVs algorithms or something else, but you can see the motion smoothed picture for a while and then it will stutter back to the original frame rate for a second. Perhaps the TV can’t keep up or it can’t see far enough ahead in the content to smooth smoothly, but it is noticeable. However, the effect of motion smoothing is really cool. Apparently, the best trained eyes can see at about 300 frames per second, and TV content is usually displayed at 29.97 frames per second. The motion smoothing turns that 29.97fps into 120fps (the native refresh rate of the TV) and it looks surreal. It definitely looks more like real life, but the effect can be jarring if you’ve been used to watching lower-fps content. On a side note, video games played through the TV like from the Xbox Series X can also be played at 120fps because the TV is capable of displaying it and it looks really cool. Only the latest console generation is capable of this, though. The speakers are quite good but I rarely use them, instead opting for a HomePod connected wirelessly to my Apple TV 4K. The remote is really nice and backlit, though it would have been nice if it were rechargeable instead of taking AAA batteries. I never use the Google TV functionality, but it’s there if you want major companies banking on your viewing and usage habits. Most streaming devices have the functionality built-in anyway, and I do recommend the Apple TV 4K with an Anker HDMI 2.1 cable for watching things. The two pair very well together. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with the TV. Amazon delivery worked out great, too. Two delivery people brought it in a big truck and carried it right up to my apartment door up a flight of stairs. It was a great service and the delivery people were very nice and did a great job. I only paid $620 for the TV before tax and delivery was $20 more. I think I got a great deal and think you’ll be satisfied with this TV at that price point. Good luck!

The picture is great with 4K and an actual 120HZ refresh rate, HDR, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for less than $600.00 is a great value. This is a Google TV. I like the Roku platform more than the Google TV platform but the Google TV is fine. I added a 4k Roku stick with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos so it's the best of both systems. Was not happy with Amazon delivering an open box item when I had purchased a new one. I contacted Amazon and sent pictures of the box upon arrival. Since the TV was working ok and there was no visible damage they gave me a 25% refund for the open box item. There were 2 missing mounting bolts so I had to get some from the hardware store to mount it. Also, the VESA pattern was about 4 inches lower than my previous TCL TV so I had to get some extension adapters to mount the TV. There is a switch to disable the built in microphone, that was not noted in the instructions. I disabled it because I don't like the potential invasion of privacy. Once disabled, bright LED lights came on so I covered them with trimmed piece of plastic as they are very annoying. Can't see them now and I'm sure it's designed that way to encourage users to turn the mike on and the LEDs off. I don't think there is a built in camera because I downloaded a video conference App and the camera icon was x'd out. I read some TVs have them built into the screen. Not sure how that would work, but I can't find any physical evidence of a camera on the bezel. The TV has been working good for 2 weeks now with no apparent issues. It's pretty easy to operate and the remote is back-lit which is a great feature. The HDMI eARC has been working great. And unlike my previous TCL, I have not yet had any HDMI handshake issues between my TV, my AV unit or any components. So far, I am happy with this TV.

We used this TV for over a year to give a better educated review of it. I highly recommend having two people when setting up. The TV shipped fast and arrived in a well packaged box. Unpacking the box was easy. The instructions are easy to follow. We had no issues mounting the TV on the wall. After connecting everything we plugged the TV into the outlet. We turned the TV on and followed the simple setup instruction on the TV screen. Once finished the TV was setup to our personal viewing preferences. The remote along with the very easy to use interface makes adding apps and configuring everything simple to do. The picture is awesome with very clear details. The audio system is easy to configure to match your viewing and listening needs. The sound compliments the video. The remote is very user friendly with pre-configured options. This makes it easy to move through options, apps and channels. TCL is a great brand. It has proven itself to me. I will be buying TCL in the future.

I've had this tv not 24 hours yet and it simply cannot play any games at a stable rate. I've tried on both an xbox series x and a ps5. Let's start with the Xbox. I have uploaded a video showing the flickering that occurs on a series x. I've tried multiple settings between the TV and the console and the only way it seens to be at all stable is with HDR off and Variable refresh rate off. Mind you, those are both settings that should be on while playing for the best experience Even with those settings off, it will sometimes completely lose signal for a moment. As for the PS5, its basically will not keep a solid signal. It will flicker off and back on in as little as 30 seconds and simply continue to do so. I've also tried multiple setting configurations between thr TV and ps5. I'm using hdmi 2.1 cables that have worked on every tv I'ved used the consoles with, but have bought new ones to test just in case. This is the first TV I've come across to have these specific issues. Even The 55inch Amazon fire TV could handle HDR without issue. As far as for watching movies, TV shows and YouTube, it seems to do that just fine. If you don't like the artificial looking "soup opera effect", I recommend turning off motion blur. Mind you, It is better than the Amazon Fire 55inch in respect to overall video quality. The UI is very responsive, the internal speakers are decent and get reasonably loud. The local dimming isn't the best, but by far not the worst I've seen. I haven't experienced any backlight bleed either. If you do not game at all, I imagine you'd really enjoy this TV. (Update 3/8/24 12:15pm) I've spoken to TCL twice and followed their technical support steps and was unable to correct all the issues. They know these issues exist and they are working on a possible solution, but cannot guarantee it will be fixed within the warranty period.

We got the 2023 tcl 75” Q750g for moms bedroom because her viewing position was over 12’ away from the tv when mounted on a wide dresser on the opposing wall on sale for $899 plus tax. Free shipping and made sure to select the seller as Amazon! The delivery by Amazon was amazing!!! Not only did they show up on time, but they managed to carry this big tv upstairs that have a sharp bend in them. They also removed the 75” tv from the huge box, attached the feet, set up the tv on the dresser and offered to plug in devices! The delivery people were extremely cautious and knew what they were doing!! They also offered to dispose of the shipping material (which we declined because we are renters and want the box for when we move, but also I recommend keeping ALL of the packaging in the event you need to return or send out for warranty! Setup: the Amazon delivery employee stuck around to make sure the tv powered on and played content with no immediate issues! -****anyone claiming Amazon “in room/stand setup” delivery to be anything other than excellent, should seriously be questioned! Because they offer this service for free and ours did a great job!! (And yes, prior to this 75” we had a 65” Samsung delivered which would only allow doorstep delivery and I had to carry that up two flights of stairs by myself and setup myself, if I had ordered the 75/85”, I would not have been able to do this). -initial tv start up: super easy! And yes, you can use your TCL Q6/QM7/QM8 WITHOUT activating the google account! We still have not activated google on this Q7, and all of the functions work great and has Netflix and Prine video preloaded. Connected the dish network box and sound bar to the tv was a breeze and after about 2 mins, was watching tv. -picture/sound quality: the picture quality is very good! Contrast, colors, black levels, motion processing, depth or 3D effect, brightness, and even sound are all VERY GOOD! The Q750G has a VA panel with I think around 200-600 local dimming zones and actually the ‘off-angle’ viewing is good!! Moms watches a lot of SDR shows and dish network only transmits 1080 @ 60hz unless you get a rare 4k channel, but the Q7 does a good job with sdr and decent low quality smoothing. HDR/4K and higher resolution signals however are absolutely beautiful on this tv!! Seriously, when playing super high 4/8/12k videos on YouTube with this tv, the picture is phenomenal! Compared to my 65” Samsung Q90C which has the IPS panel (and Samsungs top of the line 4k miniLed) the Q7 way outperforms! The color and depth with high quality streaming is much better than my Q90C. Only slight negatives are of course blooming and that dang macroblocking on certain low light conditions. However neither are almost ever noticeable with the type of content typically played especially with the brightness cranked up. Obviously the blacks are not only black with the vivid mode enabled, but moms preference is the brighter the better. So black levels are raised quite a bit as compared to the Q90C. -reliability, so far no issues with the Q7 at all. And the display hours are very high considering the tv is left on almost all day and all night (falls asleep with tv on nightly). However I highly recommend doing the firmware updates asap on all tcl TVs as their updates seem to be very effective for fixing any smaller issues. Sound quality is decent and a soundbar isn’t totally necessary for a bedroom, but I still recommend a quality soundbar with any of todays TVs. We have about 5 Samsung soundbars currently of which only 3 are in use atm. Btw. The 75q750G has a 144hz hdmi port, a 120hz hdmi port, and 2 other hdmi ports one of which is the earc connection. The 2023 Q7 also has the 120hz native panel Vs the 60Hz on the Q6 and lower. Overall I give the 2023 tcl 75Q750G 4/5 stars with the Amazon delivery making it up to 5/5 stars! (Or about 8.5/10 for the tv factoring in price as well) Key points: the Q750G has local dimming where the Q6 does not. The 2023 QM850G has over 2000 ldz. And just fyi for anyone who actually reads this whole thing, the 2024 75Q751G is a total upgrade to the 2023 q7. It has higher brightness and way more dimming zones (around 1200-1500, I think Vs 200-600). The 2024 Q681G (if you can find it) is just a repurposed 2023 Q7, but you can buy it for a cheaper price depending on the size. If you’re in the market for a 65/75/85” bang for the buck tv, you can’t go wrong with 2023Q7 or 2024 Q681G but the 2024 Q751G with around 1200-1500 LDZ which is currently less/same $$$ as the 2023 version might be much better. That said, out of the box picture settings are NOT GOOD!! It only takes about 15-20mins of going thru all of the settings to make the picture look great! But make sure you set the picture/sound settings for each input as well as for the type of content you are wiatvhing (sdr, hdr, Dolby vision, etc). Sorry, last thing, the 75Q750G has Dolby vision, Dolby atmos, as well as DTS!

I did so much research on this TV. I have never owned a Google TV. Not sure I'm thrilled with that part of it... At work, everything is Google and they still have a ways to go with the development of their absent products. I don't know anyone who likes Google Mail as much as a product like office Outlook. So, having this TV be Google Centric, I just did not know what to expect. CON: You would think that a Google TV would cast really easily from a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone for that matter... And I have yet to get it to be able to cast. I was on the phone for a very long time with TCL support and we could not figure it out. I finally had to buy a wireless HDMI connector to be able to cast to this TV. It actually works really well and I will mention it right now: Elalight Wireless HDMI Transmitter and Receiver, HDMI Wireless Extender Kit. This extender kit is literally Plug and Play. When you look at it you won't believe that it will even work and it works excellent! It occasionally has some interference hiccups, but overall it worked except for casting from a device to this Google TV. PROS: As far as the quality of picture and brightness and sound, it's a great TV for the money! I really feel like I got an incredibly great deal for a TV this size and this bright and clear. As far as setting it up and getting it ready to use, super easy and basic. I think they did a great job on their home page except for the fact that I have used other TVs that have been easier to show the exact Channel and apps that you want in the order that you want. For me at least, I've had a hard time adding my favorite apps to homepage. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I am always having to go to the very top under apps to find what I want. They do have a section called your apps on the home screen and I was able to manage a few of my favorite apps on that part of the screen, it's just not very intuitive. Having said that, I don't use that many brands of TVs in my life, so this is probably not a big deal to most people. I think the hardest part about this industry is all of the various acronyms they use for all the different Technologies (LCD, LED, OLED, ULED, QLED, HD, FULL HD, 4K, 8K, UHD, SUHD, and more coming). I chose this one because it used a standard quality acronym (QLED) whereas some other brands have just made up their own quality acronyms. After so much research and spinning my wheels, I wanted to take advantage of the Black Friday deals and I feel like I got a REALLY good value for my money! Again, every TV has to fit your needs and this one is totally sufficient for me because at the end of the day I just want it to be bright, sharp, fast to navigate, and sound good! This TV delivers!!!
