    • A nice addition for those hot days and nights of summer.
This is a powerful little unit and its abilities may surprise you due to its petite stature. We set this up in the bedroom (our bedroom is not small) on a warm summer's night and it was able to keep us comfortable. The water reservoir seems adequate and it definitely lets you know when it wants to be emptied. The remote control is a bonus, but it also brings into sharp relief that there exists a more advanced model of this air conditioner. This is evidenced by the "swing" button on the remote, which you can click all day but this model does not have a "swing" function built in. The buttons on the remoter and the unit itself are well-laid out and it is fairly easy to switch between modes and make adjustments. Installation was pretty easy, though it's a little tricky getting the huge fidget pop-tube that is the air intake to stick into the proper pieces, especially if you don't have the patience or fine motor skills for that sort of thing. We are unfortunately unable to test out the "smart" features of this particular air conditioner. They seem formidable, but they require a 2.4GHz wireless network (I presume for the range) but I am not trying to set up a separate wireless network to use my air conditioner! Most smart devices utilize this band, so it is not a huge surprise, but a minor disappointment. This A/C model great. I used it during the mid-west heat wave and it cooled my 12'x14' office (2nd floor colonial home) in minutes. It eventually got so cold, I dialed it down to low and set the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. It primarily lives in the master bedroom, I think 12'x14' also. It cools the room down very quickly and nicely. * Seems to have good quality build with tight panels and solid control panel * Cools single rooms very quickly and gets the rooms very cold * Noise is on par with similar A/C units like window units or hotel units. My opinion, when on low, it hums along pretty quietly. I even watched a TV show on regular volume with this a few feet away and I was fine. At night in the bedroom, I keep it on low and I'm out instantly. It provides a good level of white noise. On high, it's louder as it cranks out the air. Though I usually put it on high for a few minutes, then set to low once the room is comfortable. * Exhaust fits the window pretty well and is adjustable * And best of all, it's extremely powerful and takes up very little room. I really like that. I literally just set this up by a window, snake the exhaust, and it's out of the way. It's very compact and fairly light. * Easy to remove screen for easy cleaning * Drain plug included Overall, my wife and I really like this unit. It's powerful, compact, and relatively quiet. Very easy to use and comes with a remote. Ad says it cools up to 150 sq. feet, though 8100 BTU can cool up to 350 sq. ft. I think this unit can cool 350 sq. ft. easily. ... show more

    • Nice way to cool a small room

Compact is a relative term. The footprint of this air conditioner is rather small. However, it is still slightly over 2 feet tall. Compared to previous ones that I had as well as those on the market, this is smaller overall. The noise produced is similar to that of a car air conditioner. It should be quieter on sleep mode. It is easy to set up. Unbox it, attach the exhaust vent, insert into the window filler, plug it in and there you have it. The top controls are minimal and self-explanatory. The remote control duplicates the front panel with the addition of toggling sleep mode. The air filter is removable and washable. The water drain is easily accessible. The instructions mention foam insulation to fill in gaps around the window but I could not find any inside the box. Other than that, you will find everything you need. This is supposed to cool around 150sqft. That might be small. In our area, we typically have very hot weather around a handful of days a year. Therefore, most people do not have central air conditioning. I am installing this in a small bedroom that may be inhabited by one or two elderly persons. For that, this is a good choice. For something larger, I personally would look into a window unit. This is not the most efficient unit but since we will not use it very often, that is not an issue for me. ... show more

    • Trusted brand, easily cools 150sf and more!
I’m in the PNW and we get a few hot weeks in summer so needed an air conditioner for a bedroom and knew this brand wouldn’t let us down (have used their TVs for years). I wanted something with a small footprint, too and although this is about 2’ tall it’s only about 1’ square around. The wheels help with flexibility in use and first off we used the fan feature to just keep air moving on warm days. The fan is pretty powerful all on its own, though a little louder than a regular fan. As for noise I’d say it’s fairly quiet for this sort of thing, it doesn’t have any annoying hum, just a light machine sound and air blowing sound which I like as it drowns out things like kids yelling outside lol. The air conditioning works great too, we were able to vent it out of a slider type window, cooled off my bedroom well even though the hose was out the master bathroom adjoining it (we faced the air con into the bedroom). My room is larger than 150 and it got plenty cool, will easily cool a room of 150 sf and then some! Also I’m not using the “smart” features, I’m just not into that stuff but otherwise everything checks out on this unit extremely highly rated! ... show more

Worthless air conditioner. The compressor won’t stay on; so, obviously it doesn’t cool. Useless!
