I took my time putting this together and it's really sturdy. A little shorter than it looks in pictures, and not super cushy on the seat, but those are minor complaints. I think it was a very good value for the price, and it looks great in my home office/guitar room.

The great news is it looks awesome in a music room with guitars which is probably why you're buying it. It assembles easily and seems to be of very good quality for the price point. The swivel is nice and relieves the pressure allowing you to sit a bit longer. That said, I used to use a couch or chair and I could play for HOURS on them. The setup for playing posture is great on this stool but, the comfort level for me is about an hour or basically a less than average practice session for me. If you alternate, standing and sitting as you would with playing with someone, it's perfect. If you're used to digging in solo for multiple hours then I'd go with a better padded stool with a back or something that allows for more cushion in the seat. The reality for me is, buy it for the cool factor in your room but, don't throw out that chair you love. ... show more

Really like this guitar stool. It is well designed made and for me the ring height is perfect for using as a foot rest. Makes a separate foot rest unnecessary. The seat cushion is quality vinyl with a nice leather like texture. Do not the seat is firm. I personally like it this way but it is definitely a personal preference. It was very easy to assemble and seems to be extremely sturdy. Looks terrific but I do have a complaint , To my 70-year-old skinny butt it feels like there is no padding on the seat I know there is but it's very little. I could have paid much less for a stool but I paid for the Taylor name just like I do for my Taylor guitars because of quality. But my butt gives the stool seat a thumbs down. ... show more

The stool seems sturdy and looks good. Some assembly required - wrenches included. The only critique I would make is that you may want to have a longer and thicker wrench to hold the nuts steady. The supplied wrench is a little too small to get a good grip on. Otherwise, well done!
