This is a mostly complete kit. It does come with stencil gel and even soap for cleaning. A small silicone swatch for practice and the appropriate amount of ink to start doodling. The pen is made of plastic. I found it hard to dial this in because the grip, which holds the needle cartridge in will not stay on the position I adjusted it to. It did creep out of the needle length I put it in. The cartridges did fit well but were a little loose. The LCD display is bright enough for me and it's easy to read. Battery pack hold a decent amount of power for regular use. I wouldn't use this for a task tattoo myself and will only use it for practice. At this price point a good inexpensive pen made of aluminum can be bought instead but wouldn't have the extras.

I have always been intrigued by tattoos, never made the commitment though and was more interested in making them than getting them. It's really hard. This kit gives a nice collection of supplies for the budding tattoo artist. Also there is a supply of disposable needles, transfer paper and fluid and of course inks. There are very little in the instructions about technique, it's mostly technical stuff like powering on the machine and power levels. You only get one sheet of practice "skin" I wish there were less colorful inks and more skin. There are many YT videos online to really give you an idea of how to start. It is not a simple thing and takes tons of practice. Finding the correct depth feeling and working with the ink suspended in the needle is daunting. If I were to actually penetrate skin with this thing I think I would make sure I had some genuine sourced legit ink, just to be safe. Overall this kit gives you a first taste of trying tattooing for a pretty good price, it is a learning experience and you may learn that this isn't for you.
