Regular tarps fall apart easily. These tarps have lasted me a year or more through all types of abusive weather. When they do finally give out I replace them with the exact same kind because they are so good. The only thing I could say about them is that they are plasticized when new which prevents water penetration. After awhile the plasticize material will give out which reveals the woven material the tarp is made of. Water can then work it's way in between the individual fibers to whatever the tarp is covering. But the tarp itself will still be fine and protect from dirt, dust, wind, etc. It took me awhile to figure that out because at first I thought the water I was seeing was condensation in the closed space under the tarp. But it was leakage as described.

Have bought a few of these and very pleased with the quality. In my opinion, 16mm is perfect and anything under that is not worth it. They've lasted more than two years so far. I also like that both sides are brown matching the brown wood fence. One is used on a chain link fence for privacy, and the other is also used as a privacy screen on a trellis garden house.

A little heavier than what you find in the big box stores so you get what you pay for, which doesn't bother me a bit. How it holds up to Time will be the true test that I can't comment about presently. But it appears to be a pretty nice tarp, and I'm pleased with it and the prompt delivery.

The tarp arrived good condition. Upon opening I was impressed by the number of grommets and their size. Also easy to tell that this is a much thicker tarp than I'm used to. It is NOT a backpacking tarp. However as a shelter for a temporary or permanent Basecamp it is more than adequate. My only reason for not going a full 5 Stars is the seemingly random spacing of the grommets. It makes construction of projects such as mine more difficult. I am using this as a replacement for and expansion of an 8mil, 8x10 foot tarp as a Basecamp shelter. The old one lasted for almost 4 years of constant exposure. New Edit: The tarp has withstood several severe thunderstorms to include heavy rain, 3/4" hail and straight line winds in excess of 65 MPH. The grommets show no evidence of damage. I have tightened up the tie downs simply due to the exposure and solar heating smoothing out the small wrinkles and creases left over from initial packing. In my opinion, barring a direct hit from a tornado,1-inch or larger hail or a large widow-maker falling on the tarp, I expect this tarp to last for a minimum of 8 years if not longer. This is a product I would recommend to any of my friends.

This is my second purchase. I had one for like a little over two years I live in Florida with all the storms and everything it just now tore up, but it was worth every penny.. I’ve used the canvas ones , but it’s not the same. It’s worth the money and I will buy it again. Sorry I did not take any photos but believe me they last.

For 1 year of use with a very high level of UV, the tarp completely lost strength and the wind tears it like paper. Before I used Harpster brown tarps, they stay strong about 3 years. I decided to do an experiment and use a cheaper tarp. The experiment gave a bad result. Can't recommend this tarp for high UV conditions.
