  • Amazing and great price
Works Great! Took it to a camping trip and it works absolutely amazing and fit on top of my 2023 Toyota RAV4 LE. The storage space was really good too we added about 3 tent and like 5 duffel bags. Assembly took a little too long but really easy to use.

  • Almost but not quite there.
Went together easily but the hardware to attach basket to crossbars is horrible. Do yourself a favor and buy some heavyweight zip ties instead.

  • Can't accommodate crossbars more than 43" apart
The rack goes together fairly easily, with the exception that one of the tubes on mine was slightly crushed and I needed to bend it back into shape to make it fit. The metal seems very thin, and while I won't question the stated capacity of 175 lbs., I certainly wouldn't push it beyond that. I had in mind to put my kayak on top of the rack, but after handling the item wouldn't trust it for that. One thing they failed to mention in the product page; while they give the minimum spacing between the vehicle's crossbars as 27.5", the maximum is about 43" due to the way it attaches. I have the crossbars on my Jeep Renegade set as far apart as possible for maximum stability while carrying a kayak but will have to move the front bar back at least 6" to accommodate this rack. If they had stated the maximum spacing, I probably wouldn't have ordered it. ... show more

  • Great roof rack
This really is a good roof rack and I love that it has the cover to make it waterproof. I was really happy that it came with ratchet straps to be able to hold everything down properly. I like that is powder coated so that it’s going to last a while. Overall, this really is a good roof rack, but especially good that it’s waterproof. ... show more

  • It is quite pricey, however, I gladly recommend this kit!
This TANX Rooftop Cargo Carrier with Cargo Net, Ratchet Straps, and a Waterproof Cargo Bag is a fantastic kit. The rack seems sturdy, well-made, and it was easy to assemble. The cargo bag also seems well-made. The ratchet straps also work well. The cargo net helps if you want to place some larger items on top of your rack or cargo bag, and with two straps across the top of it, makes it easy to secure items tightly. This carrier is a good rooftop carrier. I was pleased that it came with ratchet straps to hold everything securely. My son has a Smart ForTwo car, which, if you do not know (or if you do), holds one driver and one passenger. It does not have a back seat, trunk, or roof rack. He will be using the rubberized roof protection mat with the waterproof cargo bag on top. The mat will help keep the bag from sliding around while driving. This bag will assist with baggage when he goes on short trips or camping. As far as the metal carrier goes, my husband will put it on his truck's roof rack and use it to haul many different tools and construction items. I guess it is 2 for the price of 1 for us! ... show more

  • Great luggage rack kit
This is a great cargo kit. The carrier is the smallest I’ll use on our SUV, but it’s perfect for smaller trips. The rack and cargo bag seem made well. The rack wasn’t bad to put together. The cargo bag seems well-made also and seems a decent quality. The ratchet straps also work well. The cargo net helps if you want to as some larger items atop your cargo bag. I’ll often put a step ladder up there to help me load and unload and that net along with two straps across the top of it make that easy for storage. Gladly recommend this kit! ... show more

  • Roof Rack Cargo Carrier
The media could not be loaded. Once I had placed it on the factory roof bars and secured it by tightening everything down, it remained exactly where it was supposed to be. I took a little bit of additional time to pack our belongings into the provided cargo bag, making sure to close it tightly, and then I added the cargo net and ratchet straps on top of it all before the first lengthy journey. Even before I had pulled out of the driveway, I was able to see that nothing was moving around when I gave it a vigorous shake. During the primary portion of our journey, we traveled for many hours in each direction, alternating between the highway and local roads. Duffel bags, sleeping bags, folding chairs, and a few strangely shaped pieces of camping equipment were among the cumbersome objects that were ordinarily taking up room inside the cabin, but this time, they were all carried in the basket. There was no abnormal behavior seen in the car at any point. Even when I was changing lanes or driving over areas of the roadway that were not smooth, I never had the impression that the load at the top was tilting, sliding, or impacting my ability to drive. At highway speeds, the rain fell consistently for a duration of more than an hour. When we eventually made our arrival and I unzipped the bag at the campground, I was relieved to find that everything that was inside was both dry and clean, which is just what I was hoping to get out of a rooftop setup. There is no need to worry about bedding that is soaked, clothing that is wet, or the need to repack belongings because moisture has found its way into them from above. ... show more

  • Road Trip Ready and Built Like a Tank
The media could not be loaded. We installed this TANX roof rack cargo carrier right before a long camping trip, and honestly, it saved us. Between the gear, the cooler, and all the random stuff our kid insisted on bringing, we had zero room left in the car—but this basket gave us all the space we needed and then some. The frame feels super sturdy, heavier than I expected in a good way. It didn’t rattle or shift at all during our drive, even on bumpy backroads. We loaded it close to the 175 lb limit, and it handled it no problem. The included waterproof bag is massive and actually kept everything dry, even during a surprise downpour. I was skeptical, but it held up better than some bags we’ve paid way more for. The cargo net and ratchet straps were a nice bonus—they kept everything snug and didn’t stretch out over time. Setup took a little patience but was straightforward once we figured out the bracket placement on our roof rails. And I love that it didn’t make a huge difference in road noise or gas mileage like I was bracing for. We’ll be keeping this on hand for every future trip. It gave us our cabin space back and made loading and unloading so much easier. ... show more
