I have a 55 Gallon tank I put the UV light in filter compartment and took 1 week 2 days to clear my tank up. It was so bad couldn't see anything now see everything. Definitely worth getting one.

This thing basically worked a miracle for our 20 gallon tank in about 10 days. Our tank water looked like pea soup for months, regardless of how frequent our water changes were. We would clean the tank and see a slight improvement for a few hours but the next morning it would be greener than ever. I put the bulb in the filter for about 12 hours a day and at first I wasn't sure whether it was making a difference. However, we cleaned the tank after a few days of using the bulb and that's when we noticed a significant difference - the tank actually stayed clean! A few days later we cleaned again and our tank looked beautiful for the first time in months. After the initial 10 to 14 days, I have been using the bulb every 3 days for 12 hours each time and our tank is crystal clear. I felt hopeless about the state of our tank before I bought this bulb but this product really turned things around for us.

Cheap UV light. used as cat fountain sterilizer. After several weeks of use, can say it has clarified water well without needing expensive cat fountains. Do be careful as it is fully unshielded unlike typical pond or aquarium UV lights. still testing notable - the control panel is quite large, even larger than the bulb itself. cycles through 3 hr, 6 hr, 12hr. always on and off with single button. cable design has short end going to wall and long end going to light suction is standard cup used in aquariums, with a foam pad. size is accurate, however cable is full size cable, which adds 1/2 an inch due to being relatively inflexible full size electrical cable (kind you see on normal household appliances). However expected a thinner cable because of the small power output and small bulb size in order to fit into small cat fountain.
