It's small enough for a tabletop or side table accent- and it's heavy enough that it will not get tipped or moved accidentally. This small smokeless fire pit for your table top is very nice for its size. Comes with a lid use for sniffing out the flame. Also for storing when not in use. I don’t recommend leaving the isopropyl alcohol in the canister when not in use. It also has a picture of s’mores on the side, I don’t recommend using this for that purpose as my research shows that isopropyl alcohol is toxic. However, it does make a nice centerpiece for an outdoor picnic or party. ****don't use this to toast marshmallow!!! Toxic*** ... show more

This indoor fire pit is really nice. The design is very nice and sleek looking. I just put regular alcohol in it and lit it, and it kept a beautiful flame for quite a while. I put the lid on to snuff it out and it went out immediately. It did get pretty hot to the touch though, so be careful. But I really really like this and now we can make s’mores inside! ... show more

First, ethanol based fires are very clean-burning and hence you can sit close and not be bothered by smoke. Soot will still build up on the inside over time (see picture). Second, the timeless, simple design and modern appearance of the tabletop fireplace suits any table surface. Hard to get wrong. We prefer modern & simple design and own multiple of these (incl. the long rectangular one). Third, made of concrete , they’re heavy and robust and don’t tip easily - which is super important, if you’ve ever experienced a spilled ethanol fire. Fourth, it gets hot slowly and stays hot for a while after empty. If you refill ethanol, know what you’re doing, i.e. wait until the flame is completely out! Keep the fire pit’s felt bottom intact or put an extra insulation layer between the concrete and your table. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The firepit works great, exactly as it should. Easy to load up with rubbing alcohol for a fuel and lights easy. I was all set to give this fire pit a 5 star rating, but when I went to extinguish it, the tank and cover formed a vacuum seal, so when I went to pull the cover off to make sure the fire was out the tank came with it and almost spill alcohol all over the place. Sorry, to me that is a safety concern. Sorry Sharper Image, I love most of your products, but this one is less than safe in my opinion. ... show more

My wife chose this tabletop fire pit for a couple of reasons. The first is that she just absolutely loves fire pits! We have two fire pits at our home. This one happens to be very compact in size, beautifully designed, and matches perfectly with our home's décor. The second reason is that she wanted something a little smaller and more personal for making her favorite dessert - s'mores. S'mores are a staple dessert item around our home and this compact fire pit allows us to make them without having to fire up the other larger units. At the end of the day, I highly recommend this little specimen of a fire pit, especially for Amazon's low listed selling price. Get one for yourself and see! (...and don't forget the graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows!!!) ... show more

Cute. Like a super sized candle. Enough flame for a kid or two to make a smore for entertainment. Interesting that it runs on alcohol. Least that easy to obtain these days. Adds a small firepit feel to the outdoors when you do not need the heat of a firepit.
