  • A useable small-form tablet......with shortcomings
Color: Gray
Keep in mind - it's a 7 in. (diag) screen - and remember that because it's smaller than most would expect for a tablet. The tablet fits comfortably in my hand and has a good feel - about the same height as my Galaxy S20 phone and a bit wider. The additional width makes use/browsing more comfortable than my phone. Header description says Android 14.0. In the more product details section under additional details it says Android 15. Device is 14. Source should probably clean that up in Amazon listing (not a deal-breaker). Easily connects to WiFi - I'm disappointed it only supports 2.4 GHz and not 5 GHz (my preferred connection). From a Bluetooth perspective, I connected ear buds, a keyboard, and a mouse. All worked very well together. I inserted a 128Gb microSD and it was recognized and worked without issue. Saves and transfers to/from MicroSD worked as they do with any other Android device When I attached this device to my google account it showed up as "PEICHENG Q8PRO". Armed with that information I went searching for support documentation. PEICHENG is indeed a tablet manufacturer/supplier, but their site contains no information for this particular device. If you're Android familiar you shouldn't have any issues with absent documentation - curious - the tablet DOES come with instruction of how to factory reset, something that may come in handy at a later date. I'm not sure about advertised battery capacity of 'up to 8 hr'. I fully charged it and left it on the counter for 36 hr (no use - simple standby) and it discharged to 27% - I find this disappointing. Another full charge and operation for 1 hr of assorted activity: game play, photo browsing, and a couple of NAS file transfer and battery was down to 81%. Overall it's a useful device - especially if compactness is desired. For regular use, you'll likely need to make sure you have a charger nearby. Also 32Gb is not a whole lot of on-board storage when 'system' uses 15 Gb. ... show more

  • This would have been a terrible tablet in 2010
Color: Black
The HOTTABLET 7‑inch Android 14.0 tablet is a monument to mediocrity—an uninspired mash‑up of bargain‑bin hardware, flimsy plastic styling, and half‑baked software that feels like a relic from 2010, not 2025. It promises “8 GB RAM” and “Android 14,” yet can barely handle a basic web page without lagging, crashing, or overheating. The so‑called “protective case” is glorified dollar‑store silicone that peels after a week, and the “IPS screen” displays colors so washed‑out you’ll wonder if you’re living in a Tumblr filter from 2012. Avoid this soulless knock‑off like the plague—it’s an insult to both tablets and consumers. Design & Build: Cheapness Powered by Plastic Flimsy Casing The bundled “protective case” is nothing more than a thin silicone sleeve that offers exactly zero drop protection. One accidental bump and the tablet’s corners chip or shatter, turning your $50 impulse buy into a pile of plastic shards. Awkward Ergonomics At 7 inches, this thing feels perpetually awkward in hand—too heavy to hold comfortably, too small for any real content. The sides are razor‑sharp, so you’ll quickly learn what wrist impalement feels like. Button Placement Fiasco Power and volume buttons are jammed so close together you’ll either crank the volume to ear‑shredding levels or accidentally power off mid‑call. It’s like the designers blindfolded themselves and threw buttons at the chassis. Performance: From Lag Central to Crash City “8 GB RAM” Mirage Don’t be fooled by the “4+4 GB expandable” gimmick—it’s a virtualization trick that does nothing but confuse Android. Real usable memory hovers around 3 GB, so expect constant app reloads, stutters, and janky UI animations. Crawl‑Speed CPU The unknown quad‑core processor feels like molasses—opening Chrome tabs takes ten seconds, and switching between apps is a gamble whether the tablet will respond or reboot itself. Thermal Meltdown After five minutes of any moderately intensive task—say, streaming video—the backside turns scorching hot. Congratulations, you now have a hand‑warmer masquerading as a tablet. Display & Cameras: A Visual Insult Muddy IPS Screen Colors are so desaturated you’ll think you accidentally turned on Grayscale Accessibility mode. The 1024×600 resolution makes text jagged and pixel‑y, like reading through an Etch A Sketch. Dual Camera Delusion Rear camera is a 0.3 MP throwback to ancient flip phones, producing images so blurry you can’t distinguish whether you photographed your lunch or an alien smudge. Front camera is slightly better—at maybe 1 MP—but still only useful for ghost‑like video calls that make you look like a CGI extra. Battery & Connectivity: More Letdowns Tiny Battery, Huge Disappointment Rated “4000 mAh,” but in real life drains to zero in under three hours of light use. Good luck finishing a YouTube video without scrambling for a charger. Wi‑Fi Roulette Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi‑Fi specs look fancy on paper, but in practice the tablet drops connections randomly. Streaming buffers every 30 seconds, and transferring files over Bluetooth is slower than dial‑up. Software & Support: Abandonware in Disguise Android 14… or Not? The tablet ships with Android 14 branding but is riddled with custom ROM bugs: forced Chinese keyboard prompts, unremovable bloatware, and zero security patches. You’re basically running an abandoned fork of stock Android. Zero Customer Service Good luck getting help—HOTTABLET’s “support” vanishes after you leave a negative review. No firmware updates, no replacement parts, and a warranty policy that reads like a ransom note. Final Verdict This HOTTABLET 7‑inch is the bargain‑bin bottom of the barrel. It manages to underperform on every front—design, performance, display, battery, and software—while charging you a premium for the privilege of disappointment. If you value your time, sanity, and dignity, steer clear of this disasterpiece. ... show more

  • Great entry level for the price
Color: Gray
Absolutely worth the money. This is not the fastest but for what I am using it for it is excellent. It is a basic design and functions well for an entry level tablet. I bought this as my cats love to watch videos designed for cats. They curl up and watch for extended periods of time. With the cover provided I can set it up anywhere. My old cat is rather high strung so this calms her. Obviously YouTube works, front and back cameras although they wil not video chat it can be used for that. The sound/voice is a bit tinny but the sounds of birds and squirrels it works great. I would feel safe allowing my grandchildren to use it when they visit. I do not notice lagging or slacking in viewing. Happy cats means happy cat mom. All three give 4 paws approval. ... show more
