It is a high quality, nice looking pot set, that I believe will last me forever. I got them at the end og August, and been using them daily for the past two monts. after the first week, I just simply donated my old pots, and just kept this one set. I even tried the skillet, although I wasn't sure I wil be able to use all stainless skillet without burning the food. I followed advise of the proffesional chefs: heat it until it's very hot, then grease the bottom of the pan, then put your food in, and don't touch it until it forms a crust, und unsticks from the bottom of the pan. I am still keeping my non stick skillets, but I love the large one because of the high walls - makes the perfect deep fryer. The large soup pot is wider in diameter then the one I've had before, and I find it very convenient. The pictures were taken today after two months of daily use, and straight out of the dishwasher. Look how shiny the pot is! it works well, cleans up nicely, dishwasher safe, and almost spot proof. Handles of the pots are stainless too, that makes them oven safe, but they don't get super hot on the stove, still very comfortable to hold the pot in your hand. Lid handels do tend to get warmer, but I was able to lift them without the mitten for the most time. Of course oven makes the whole pot extremely hot, so be carefull. I recommend this set alot: it looks good on my pot shelf, they are shiny, but easy to clean, heat up fast, handles are comfortable, and easy to grab, lids are nice and clear, the whole set is very reasonably priced. ... show more

    • This is a good Stainless Steel saute pan that is very well constructed from a heavy gauge metal.

I ordered this for using to fry up some things that just did not have enough volume to justify my 14" Stainless pan, and if I'm going to fry, I like Stainless Steel, I'm used to it, and I can use metal tools, which I prefer. This cold very well, with an even heat distribution, and no noticeable hot or cold spots. This is a heavy pan, because the steel is not thin like some are, it's thick enough to hold the heat. I have been using Stainless for a while now, and I find it doesn't have a big problem with food sticking to it if you preheat the pan, and always use a good oil. I have one of the oil bottles with a trigger to spray the oil onto the pan with, and that makes it very easy to make sure you have the inside of the pan well covered, including the sides without having to roll the pan around to distribute the oil. T-fal is a quality company, and anything they make can be considered a top quality product with a long lifespan. This pan works very well, and I am very happy with it, I think it is a top quality pan for a reasonable price. ... show more

I have a lot of various pans I use in cooking (you can never have enough!). This T-fal Pro Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Saute Pan is part of a new line of cookware from T-fal, so I was pretty excited to see how well it is made, as previous T-fal pans I've used have been pretty good. This pan has some weight to it and does not feel like a cheap thin-metal pan. It balances nicely and heating is pretty even across the pan surface. I like that the handle is riveted to the pan, no screws to loosen up or trap anything. Having a steam vent hole in the glass lid is always nice have. As it is designed to accommodate virtually all range types (gas, electric, inductive), it is quite versatile. As another review had mentioned, cooking with stainless (not non-stick) surface pans is different and you need to pay a little more attention. Simply put, you need to preheat the pan and you will need to use an oil when doing any frying as this is not a non-stick. The tip of dropping a drop of water to see if it dances on the surface is wise to use so you know the pan is ready to use. There are times that I like to use non-stick pans (cooking eggs especially), but there are also many times that I like to use stainless surface for searing meat, sautéing various items and even for sauces. Also, I don't have to worry about scratching the surface so can use all-metal whisks and cooking utensils. If you enjoy cooking, this is a nice addition to have. ... show more

So i'm new to stainless steel cookware and have only ever used non-stick. I recently watched a few videos to see what to even look for in stainless steel and whether things really do stick like people say they do. First, based on my research, these check all of the boxes in terms of what to look for in stainless steel cookware! They say that it's better to have riveted handles rather than welded which these are. The say to look for a comfortable rounded handle but one that has a divot or slightly oval shape to prevent the pan from spinning in your hand which this has. They say that it's better to have unibody cookware rather than the stainless steel ones that have a seperate ring of steel at the bottom. These are also all the perfect shape. My last set had some that were too wide and narrow while others were too tall and deep. The amount of pans is also perfect for anyone cooking a 3-course meal or for a family. Stainless steel does take some time to get used to cooking in. You need to use more oil than normal and basically always have some kind of oil/butter in the pan to keep it from sticking. As i'm using them more, i'm getting better at food not sticking. These were certainly better at being non-stick than some others i've used though so that's a good sign too. Overall an awesome set of cookware and a good deal for the quality and amount that you get with it. ... show more
