This is a elegant, sharp knife set! The magnetic stand holds the knives well, and you can arrange the knives as you choose. The stand is remarkably compact, which means it can fit in a variety of corners; that said, if it isn't relatively open, it can be a little tricky to get to the knife you need because of how close everything is. I appreciate that they built in a small sharpener for a quick hone made accessible. That said, the knives are sharp out of the box, which is a delight. They're easy to hold, reasonably lightweight, with nice wooden handles. The Damascus-style decorative pattern is really quite pretty. I'd say they'd make a nice gift, but they have a weird non-premium packaging and presentation for a premium-priced product.

This knife set has a nice selection of knives for all of your cooking needs. The magnetic block is attractive and makes it easy and convenient to grab your knife of choice. It’s also a nice way to store the knives without worrying about dulling them as they knock around in a drawer. However, the whole set up does take up a lot of counter space. I like that the steak knife block is detachable. The whole set up is attractive and well-made. The knives are very sharp (as they should be!). I had never invested in good steak knives before. Wow, what a difference! I decided to try a recipe that I saw on YouTube. It involved taking an inexpensive and typically tough cut of beef and marinating it in coffee. Supposedly, this process would tenderize the steak and make it feel like a more expensive cut. Well, that was a fail, lol! The beef was just as tough as you would expect it to be without the marinade. Talk about chewy! However, the steak knives cut through it like butter. Too bad my teeth couldn’t do the same. The handles on the knives are very comfortable. I would have expected to pay much more money for this set, it’s a great value.

I am a japanese knife enthusiast and when I see sets like this, I think they make a great starter gift and any kitchen. This is better than cheap box store sets but not as expensive as dedicated home good store sets so I think the value for money is there. What I'm Loving -The Damascus pattern on the blades is absolutely stunning. It looks like it belongs in a chef's kitchen, not just a home counter. The knife block is compact and looks good. -Knives are sharp out of box -The built-in sharpener on the magnetic block is super convenient. No more hunting for a separate sharpening tool -The detachable steak knife block is a smart design touch. You can take just the steak knives to the table for dinner service What Could Be Better -The wood handles, while beautiful, require more care than synthetic handles and shouldn't go in the dishwasher - These are not high high end so I expect it will require a bit more maintenance. - Knives are sharp out of box but could use more sharpening If you love cooking and want a set that genuinely looks beautiful and performs well, this is a solid choice.
