Our vet recommended this product when our 9 yr old, 60 lb mix breed, began to have stiff hips and no longer ran and played like before. It was so hard to watch her get around we knew she was in pain. My husband and I are so grateful for Synovi G4 for it's given our English Mastiff his quality of life back. Our 174lb English Mastiff is 7 years old and hes had a rough year. His left back leg just stopped working one day and he grew weaker and weaker and the vet tested him for everything under the sun to only put him on pain meds that would ultimately kill him. I knew I needed to do something because him being put down was in our near future. He could no longer get up, walk without falling to go potty and getting up in the bed or couch wasn't happening either leaving him to cry for hours. Our hearts were breaking because our boy is the core of our family and seeing him in pain was absolutely killing us. I did some research online and so many supplements called for so many pills due to his weight which we didn't want to do that to him. We also learned that Synovi was the only one that had turmeric and many other natural ingredients to help him. We give our boy 3 chews a day and one medication from the vet. He eats them without a problem and I'm so happy to report 90% of the time our boy is back. He's able to go out in the yard, walk without his back leg dragging, he smiles and kisses again and every night I wake up next to him. He still has bad days when it's cold or wet outside, but he's nothing like the beginning of this. I wish we would of come across Synovi years ago because I would of had him on it for life. I just want to thank Bayer for making such and awesome product and giving my boy back to me for as long as God allows. I will say I wouldn't do this review until we were a few month's in. I wanted to be honest for I know my boy is my life and I would never wanna lie to somebody in their time of need. It took about 3wks to see a difference. My senior dog was no longer able to get up on the couch. The vet recommended these and they have made a substantial difference in his joints. He is happy to be able to get on the couch again.

    • Great supplement for your dog

This supplement has really helped our thirteen year old shih-tzu. She can now just run up the stairs again! My husband gives it to her in the morning and he puts bacon fat on it and she likes it. I don’t know if he has to do that to get her to take it but he does.

    • Practical, with turmeric

The DVM we take our dog to (also a chiropractor and an animal physical therapist) noticed some arthritis starting to form in our dog's ankles and one shoulder, and recommended Synovi G4. I received it in a small plastic drum with a screw-on lid, and the supplements were in a plastic liner bag inside. They were soft, but my dog did not think they were a treat because she started to chew it and spit out the pieces. Now it goes in with her food which works very well since I feed her raw. I do believe they are helpful, and I am re-ordering them and hope I don't run into issues like poor packaging or getting a bad batch or a container that has old dried hard ones. So far so good. I appreciate that they have some good ingredients in them like turmeric which is common sense, and since I already give my dog kefir as a strong probiotic (1 Tablespoon per 25 pounds of body weight) daily, she has good health and looks amazing for 11 years old. I'll try to post an update if the next container is just as good and fresh. If it's not, I'll get a refund and not buy from this seller. UPDATE: The smaller packages have had soft moist contents that are great pill pockets, but the ones I ordered this last time in the large boxy plastic container are dry and crumble easily into the morning dog food bowl with the food, and I think it's because they're in a plastic liner bag and the boxy plastic container closes but is not airtight. ... show more

Sometimes oily, sometimes dry very large pills. My dog hates them but will eat them covered in pumpkin or squash. He's an American Bulldog, 10 years old and he can still chase squirrels across the top of the fence. He's been taking them for 9 years due to 2 damaged legs.
