The television works well. The picture is clear and relatively bright, and the sound is very good without a soundbar.....it's just right for our 4-season sunroom. Setup was straight forward except for adding an Amazon Fire TV Stick....I could not get the volume and on/off controls to work, and Svlvox is not listed as a selection with the Fire TV Stick for the brand of TV I had. Getting through to support was a lengthy process (many attempts by phone & email), but I finally got an answer on what to do....select "Toshiba" as the brand....and when I did that, I got full functionality. Concluding thoughts: 1 - It's a good TV for a sunroom - the price & performance are right for me (they have another version for "full-sun"). 2 - Setup - there needs to be documentation with Sylvox (either online or written) on what to do with a Fire TV Stick (it would be good to have it somewhere on Amazon also). 3 - Sylvox Service Support - they need more people to answer their inquiries - they have the answers when you finally connect, it's just too hard to reach them. ... show more

I am going out of my way to write this review. I had a Samsung Terrace 65 inch which cost over $5000 and the screen died. This TV was used outdoors in Florida in a semi covered space outside of the sun and died in four years. Samsung told me to buy a new TV and recommended the $8000 version instead. I bought the Sylvox 65 inch 1000 nits TV instead as a replacement. I was willing to live with the compromises of a slightly lower echelon outdoor TV, but in reality, I haven’t seen any compromises at all. The picture quality is quite good and the anti-glare coding makes it easy to see at an angle. They sent me a 3.0 version which is a little bit more durable. There is nothing about this TV I don’t like and that’s coming from the flagship of the Samsung line previously. Because it sits outdoors, the sound quality isn’t really the best, but I have a sound bar for it anyway and it’s great. Even the remote control is easy to use. My TV is not in direct sunlight and I primarily look at it in the evening and night so 1000 nits is more than bright enough for everything I do. I don’t have cable wired to this TV so it only exists through its connection to my wireless. And it works really well. I had a fire stick attached to my Samsung, but it isn’t necessary for this TV because it has so many options available. Because I already had an outdoor set up, this was really just replace the TV and hook up the wires. I will say, for those people who are considering an outdoor television, doing the electricity and everything on it correctly takes some effort. If you’re considering an outdoor TV, you should strongly consider Silvox. ... show more

So far so good!!! I did have to buy a bigger mount but was able to use a few of the holes from the previous mount! It looks and works great! I added my Firestick to the back and was able to put the waterproof cover back on! It’s under an eave and I’m not too worried about the back getting wet. But then I logged into Google TV and was able to get all my apps - DirecTv, Apple TV, Paramount +, Prime, Disney, Hulu, NetFlix, etc. The picture quality is amazing! And I was in full sun! It’s like watching TV inside. I went from baseball to soccer to Godfather 2 with no issues or complaints. Frankly, I am surprised at the quality and value! If you were cautious like me, I read review after review from a few sources. The housing is amazing yet the TV is not that heavy. It even has an internal cooling fan!     • Known Hardware Issue Avoid Purchasing

I strongly recommend not purchasing this TV. Within the first year, the TV began freezing multiple times during use. The only way to fix it was to unplug it and reboot. Around the 14-month mark, the problem became much worse—the TV froze and entered a continuous reboot loop, making a very loud noise. The power button didn’t work, and the only way to stop it was to unplug it. Unfortunately, every time I plugged it back in, it would immediately start the same cycle again. After researching online, I found that many other customers have experienced this exact issue. It appears to be a known hardware failure where the TV gets stuck in a reboot loop. I contacted Sylvox, and to their credit, they responded quickly. However, after a lot of back and forth, their final solution was for me to purchase another TV for $714 and ship my defective unit back at my own expense. Considering I already spent $2,300 on the original TV, this would put me out close to another $1,000. That’s not an acceptable resolution. At this point, I’d rather take my chances with a $350 standard TV, especially since it will be used on a covered patio. Bottom line: a TV at this price point should last far longer than 14 months. This seems to be a known hardware issue, and the company’s resolution doesn’t match the severity of the problem. Lesson learned: avoid buying expensive electronics from brands you’re not familiar with. ... show more

    • Remote NOT waterproof -UPDATED!!

The seller/Sylvox was super responsive to my review and they are replacing my remote free of charge!!! This makes the purchase/satisfaction go WAY up! Although waterproof, I do believe that the remote may have been sitting in water, which could cause it to stop working. I will be using the water resistant pouch that came with the TV to store it from now on. I will also purchase a full sun TV the next time I need an outdoor TV. Although it is partial sun, it gets a lot of afternoon overhead sun (never direct) that makes the display somewhat hard to see in brilliant color. I am VERY satisfied with the purchase given the fair price. The remote on my outdoor waterproof TV got wet and now doesn’t work. Batteries corroded and brown water dripping out. The TV is good - but in partial afternoon sun the picture is very hard to see. I was pretty happy with it until the remote got wet. I have Google tv on my phone as a workaround remote - but not everyone in my household does - and guests can’t use the tv unless I am home with my phone available. Super disappointing since the reviews and Sylvox website say that the remote is waterproof. ... show more
