In general, these bulbs are just what you expect: replacements for regular light bulbs. They screw into regular light bulb sockets. They are only a little longer than incandescent light bulbs, so they fit most fixtures without a problem. They're dimmable, so they work with dimmer switches (of course), and should also work with older electronic timer switches. The reason I bought these bulbs was the color temperature - that's the number in the bulb specs that ends with the letter K. (The K stands for Kelvin.) Soft White is 2700K, and I find that too yellow for my tastes. Daylight is 5000K, which is blue-white light, in my home, which has lots of off-white paint and natural woodwork, I find that Daylight makes those colors look eerie and the woodwork look dark and lifeless. I like Warm White and Bright White, which usually indicates a color temperature of 3000K to 3500K, but I get the impression that they aren't standardized color descriptors, as opposed to Soft White and Daylight, which are consistent. More to the point, though, bulbs with color temperatures other than Soft White and Daylight are hard to find where I live, so I've come to shop online for my light bulbs. These bulbs are 3500K. I'm a bit OCD about lighting... The light beside my bed I like a nice warm 2700k 40w bulb... in my kitchen, something closer to 4000k, but in main living areas a nice 3000k-ish is what I look for. I got this bulb to replace several 60w bulbs as they began to burn out. The first 60w bulb I replaced, I was instantly impressed with the light. It is perfect! It is a crisp white light. There is no yellow to it, there is no blue to it. The output is glare free and even. These 60 watt 3500K bulbs are the best color bulbs. I have been putting these all over my house. I can't stand the yellow 2700k bulbs. They are too dark and too yellow for me. These 3500K bulbs are only 9 watts, so they will save on my electric bill. Changing my exterior lights from 2700K to 3500K and my house looks much nicer and brighter at night. 3500K are so hard to find. The 2700K are everywhere. I find the 5000K are good for my kitchen and workshop area. But the 3500K are perfect for everywhere else. ... show more

So you want to know what these look like right? Go outside at 12 Noon on a clear day and look at white piece of paper, now you know. I tried the 3000K Hyperikon and they are wonderful with a high CRI (90+) so the colors just pop. I tried the 4000K which put out a dirty yellow color that I am not fond of at all. I tried the 5000K which are OK for the Kitchen or Garage but not for a Bedroom. These 3500K Bulbs are for people who don't like the other Color Temperatures like me, it's a Neutral Color. The CRI is only 80 but it looks OK. If you didn't know, a low CRI will make things look dull. I'm quite sensitive to light with Headaches etc and I can tell you that these do not flicker or give me a Headache. In case you are wondering, a CFL has a CRI of 80 tops. LEDs can go up to 95 currently and I wish they would all switch to a high CRI for the consumers sake. I think these would be nearly perfect with a CRI of 90. So I hope this review helps you if you're not sure. The Color is that of the Sun on your Arm at Noon, 5000K is NOT Daylight as LED makers describe. The problem is, there is no consensus on standards yet from LED makers and these 3500K Bulbs are way too Rare. ... show more

We put these in a bathroom that was remodeled with bright colors. The color of the lights in stores were all wrong, either way too yellow or way too blue. These lights are more neutral in color and just a little bit on the warm side. Perfect with a modern color scheme of greys and whites and browns. So far no issues with them. More lumens than competition, only dislike is the low CRI of 80 and I not mean it by what is suppose to have, is that as a owner of Hyperikon 90 CRI bulb I can confimr the Hyperikon 90 CRI the colors look better. These bulbs are my absolute favorite. At 3500K, the quality of the light they produce is amazing! The light is not too blue and not too yellow. I have started to replace all of the bulbs in my home with these. If you need to replace any indoor flood lights, I discovered that these bulbs match nicely with the Sylvania 78056 BR30 flood lights. I was able to replace an old flood light in my bathroom and along with these bulbs, I was able to achieve an even, pleasant light. So good! ... show more

We love these lightbulbs and are slowly switching our whole home over to these. In stores the only bulbs that are available are the warm glow (2700-2900k) which is too orange for me, and “daylight” (5000k) which makes my home feel like a hospital.
