I like this ascender. It is not very big but works nice on a 12mm climbing rope. Very easy to put on and off the rope anywhere along the rope and is very secure when used properly. For the money I guess it's okay but it slides down the rope doesn't catch all the time but when it does its a pain in the but to get it loose to move up the rope

    • Works like my ropeman 1
I have only attached this to a tether rope and tested on a pole from the ground. I have not tested under actual conditions. Seems to work fine and cheaper than the ropeman 1. I will use it for my saddle hunting setup on my longer tether rope.

This ascender does not work very well. Does not grip the rope at all under a load. Hopefully nobody gets hurt or killed using this.

    • Just get a Ropeman 1 and save you self the issue of sending this back
I got this thinking I could save a little money. Well, I guess I could and did. But then thinking about the country of manufacture and me hanging 25 to 30 feet off the ground made me rethink this Ascener. I got down took it off my kit and returned it the next day. I will not trust my life to something made where this was from. Other products sure but not this. I have a Rope Man 1 and a Kong Duck and trust both of those. Save your money and just get either the Rope Man 1 for thicker rope or the Kong Duck (remember you need an oval carabiner) for down to 8mm rope. Be safe and do not get this product. ... show more

Not as expected, at the end it's just a poor Ropeman copy and the rope handling not really smooth. Would not reccomend it!
