Description

How quickly does this ice maker produce the first batch of ice? The first batch of bullet ice takes about 6–8 minutes. Daily production is 26 lbs under normal room temperature conditions. You can also choose between small or large ice sizes using the selection button. How does the machine tell me when it needs water or when the ice basket is full? The control panel has dedicated indicator lights: the water shortage light tells you to refill the water tank, and the ice full light causes the machine to stop automatically until you remove some ice. Does it have any safety features, and how do I clean it? Yes – a compressor overheat protection activates at 70°C (158°F) to prevent damage. For cleaning, use the Self-Cleaning Mode – the machine circulates water to flush internal lines. The ice basket and water tank are removable for easy manual cleaning. We purchased this for our daughter’s dorm room. Everyone on her floor LOVES it! It makes ice quickly! It is easy to fill with water and easy to get ice. The outside is sleek and matches their design. This is probably the BEST dorm purchase we have made for her and her friends!

    • item didn't work, and product support was worthless
good looking machine, packaged well, arrived in good shape. waited more than double the recommended time to let the coolant settle. tested it, and it failed miserably. out of 20 attempts, it made ice (sort of) ONCE. they were very tiny, very thin, ice formations about the size of a lima bean, but smaller than a cut green bean. out of the 20 attempts, 19 failed, and all for the SAME reason. the water trough filled with water, but about 5 seconds later, would dump the water out. a red light appeared next to "add water" on the dashboard. but the water reservoir was full to the "max" line. the user manual also suggested that the water filter may need cleaning or was obstructed. it wasn't. so i messaged the manufacturer for product support through the amazon link. i got a quick reply from china. they requested order number, delivery address, and a VIDEO showing the problem and the unit. i recorded a 90 second video but it was too large to send via email. so i uploaded it to youtube. the manufacturer wouldn't accept youtube. they wanted me to upload it to google drive and share it. so i did. the response from the manufacturer? unplug it. plug it back in again. press power. HAHAHAHAHA! that's product support? Amazon didn't allow me to post a link to the video ... show more

We've not had this icemaker very long. We bought it to replace a $400 icemaker that gave up the ghost after only a few months. We thought this inexpensive one was no good because all of a sudden, it quit making ice. Soon we discovered, though, that we needed only to unplug it and let it defrost; then, we could use it again. Evidently, it freezes up occasionally. Otherwise, this icemaker is really good. We have it making only the larger ice cubes as I think the smaller cubes may tear up icemakers in general. Great ice maker for its price. Makes plenty of ice that you can store in the freezer afterwards. Being portable is a plus too; you can make ice on the go, just have a power source to plug it into.
