    • Power and surprisingly clear signal carried over (half of) a standard CAT5E cable
Regarding Amazon/delivery: First order of this package for installation at a remote location which required a three hour (one-way) commercial plane flight. Amazon delivered the system to the remote installation address where it was quickly discovered that the external 48vdc power supply did not work. Nobody was available, via phone, at Swann to evaluate and advise. Phone support with Amazon advised returning the entire system and reorder a new system. Overnight delivery to this remote location was not and option -- so, this pretty much killed the expected two day installation trip. A month later, we tried again and all went well. The Amazon RMA process was surprisingly simple and easy to execute through a UPS Store. Regarding the Swann system: Do not expect Swann phone support and expect plug-and-play documentation (this is to say, not very much technical documentation). The Swann System is easy to setup and seems to work reliably. Connecting the cameras is almost too simple (expected to have to configure more or execute extra steps to get the cameras working -- it was just plug-and-watch). The system-wide general setup parameter inputs and passwords (yes, are more than one password) are a little confusing and the flow seems like two-or-more software development teams failed to communicate/coordinate. The DDNS, or remote control of the system, is very confusing and our remote access is not yet working. What Swann documentation that does exist in this area does not align with the Swann DDNS website. There is no documentation for using a third party DDNS (although Swann claims to support this) and the setup menus only further frustrate and confuse how this might be done. Once this remote access problem is solved, we will be very happy with the Swann system. ... show more

    • Works well
After a bit of tweaking it seems to work well. It takes a bit of work to reduce false alarms without the sensitivity being too low. I had to adjust the motion trigger areas back further than I expected to keep passing cars from triggering recording and constant notifications. Picture/video quality is decent but is upscaled, not native 4K. My only real disappointment is that the supplied cables are not full cat5 or higher cables (best I can tell, they only have 3-4 conductors) and do not support the live audio option. I re-used one of my existing cables and, for the moment, only have one camera supplying audio. The app doesn't offer a ton of features, but does the job. One of the main reasons I chose Swann is because they claim to NDAA compliant and claim to use only US servers. I'm not sure how that could be proven/documented but there will always be privacy concerns with any audio/video recording electronic device. ... show more

Good quality money isn't to bad, detection well if you dont adjust it it will detect EVERYTHING, picture quality is good, easy set up if you watch YouTube videos or have time and patience for this 😉

Customer service and support are the worst. My security system broke after couple of months and it takes forever for their support team to attend to your need. They will offer you to pay subscription for priority support but still takes forever. Never will buy anything from this brand

This camera is clear, sound is great. Very happy with this and like the alarm. POE systems are far superior to wireless. This catches everyone before they even step foot on the property. So you literally can talk to them before they’re at the door. Where wireless it catches them as they step foot off the property or never.     • Poor Vision on Face or Car plates.
picture of people face are blurring, in the night you can't see a plate at 50 feet away, Motion detection work great, but why you need it if you can't see the person face or plate of the car passing. Camera are only flash light not Alarm or Siren work in the software, The picture that show run the add is the camera without red, blue & white flashing. The video in this item is wrong, the camera won't do nothing like it said it will, not face recognize or plate, you will not even see the new paper in hand, one if the person is 10 feet or less from the camera.
