  • I LOVE THIS BIKE... Second time purchase..
The first one was not as good as this one... I even pull a doggy hut behind me. It's great and my hut can even cary groceries. I wish I had more time to use it. It is really hard to get part of its breaks. I need a part for my first one and it's been over a year since I requested it. I will try again... But I have not had many problems with this second one. I am waiting for a spare battery. ... show more

  • HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Let me just start off by saying we had problems shortly after delivery of two new EB-8 ebikes. Upon opening, unpackaging, and assembling the first bike, I inspected the removable battery and discovered the "warranty void if tampered" sticker was cut open, effectively voiding my warranty on my supposedly brand-new ebike. I immediately haulted the assembly process and contacted support via the online chat provided 7 days a week on their web page, and was immediately told to contact Amazon to have the bike replaced as warranty was no longer valid, even though this bike is supposedly "brand new." After pleading with their online support and explaining I really don't want to go through the hastle of returning the bike, they finally agreed to speak to a supervisor, and I was then informed to contact their support e-mail address with pictures and a description of the issue, which I proceeded to do. I didn't hear back until the following day so while waiting for a response, we decided to pop open the box for the 2nd bike and take a look at that battery as well. This battery appeared to be fine so we went ahead and assembled the 2nd bike and charged the battery up. Assembling the bikes was fairly simple, however the tool you're provided to assemble the bikes with is a joke at best. I had to use my own tools to assemble. The battery took about 3 hours to charge up, although the manual said about 5 hours, it also states not to over charge so we unplugged the battery when the light changed from red to green. Aside from a standard push power button, there doesn't appear to be a way to power off the battery using the included key without folding the bike up, so if taking it anywhere public where it needs to be locked up, you'll have to fold it and lock it up to something while folded in half to prevent any potential theifs or vandals from powering the motor. The battery is locked into the frame with a key, and you can unlock to remove the battery and take that with you to charge it or whatever you so please, which I find to be convenient enough considering the bikes, at least for someone of my physical stature, are pretty heavy so for charging the battery inside it's easier to just remove the battery. When finally taking the seemingly good bike for a spin, the battery power indicator guage popped open and off the bike taking it down our driveway... It appears there's a screw that holds this piece down, however it's missing on the bike that had no issues with the battery.. We decided we've come too far to give up now so we taped the indicator back down and took the bike out for a ride. It rides fairly smoothly on a smooth road, but the shocks don't seem to absorb bumps very well. The bike makes an awful noise going over bumps and makes me wonder how well it will actually hold up to trail riding. On another note, by the end of my 4 mile test spin, the rear brake is now making a terribly loud squeek when being used, and doesn't brake the bike nearly as well as it did at the start. The seat is quite uncomfortable and made me want to stand up by the end of the ride as it made my posterior rather sore. Ride experience out of the way, I don't even know what to make of the response I received from their support e-mail. I don't think I'm allowed to share that in a review, but after owning the bikes for a whole day and already having all of the problems that I am, let me share with you my overall conclusion: If you're looking for a bike that will be backed by the customer support you deserve (especially at this price,) maybe consider looking at a different bike. And if you expect a bike to hold together on your first ride and be quality built, (especially at this price,) then this bike is probably not for you. No matter the case, save yourself the headache (AND THE MONEY) and take your business somewhere else. **EDIT** Experiencing issues with brakes in both bikes now. It's been 72 hour since delivery. Do yourselves a favor and learn from my mistake, get your bike from a reputable company, and stay away from this product. Should NOT be having this many problems, especially with two of these "BRAND NEW" bikes. ... show more

  • Well worth my hard earned cash!
The media could not be loaded. I really love this bike. I’m short, 5’2”. So when my husband opened the box and assembled it, it was intimidating to look at! It’s so tall for such half pint as myself. I got on it before my husband adjusted the seat and my feet could barely touch the ground. He adjusted the seat to the lowest setting and I was only able to tip toe it. I was pretty nervous to take it out for a spin, it’s like buying a huge lifted truck/Jeep and not knowing what to do with yourself. Anyway, took it out and oh my god. It rides like a Cadillac on steroids. Very smooth, acceleration is powerful. Took it up on a steep hill and pedal assisted the throttle...WOWEEE! I felt free on this thing. So to sum it up, it’s my second “car.” Can’t wait to ride it to work and show it off. Bought a nice light set and an alarm with fob. This boss even comes with keys! Photos on Amazon do not do it justice, a beautiful, rugged presentation with an aggressive stance. Folds really nice too. ... show more

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Urban Transport thats worth the price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Update I added an ammo box to the top tube for storage....fits quite handily!!!) The Swagtron EB-8 is an awesome little bike for the cash 870.00 Delivered (including tax) Background: I am a 35 yr old man( around 215-225 lbs) bought the bike to scoot me around between home and work and to trip around my downtown area. I looked at literally every bike on the market and came down to the EB-8 for a couple reasons . Number one I wanted to be sub 1k (while you get a bit more power over 1k... for my purposes ...and with class limitations the EB-8 has more than enough power without making me feel like I should have just bought a used car). Number two I wanted full suspension(US roads suck and I couldnt see my tailbone surviving a true rigid frame ) EB-8 was the only bike I found with full suspension in the price range I wanted to maintain. Number three its foldable (my closest runner up bike was the Saunders original but the drawback is its an oversize frame and tire bike...if my battery dies I cant fit the big bastard in an UBER and probably not on mostbus mounted bike racks) as an Urban commuter this also kept me away from the Fat Scooters cuz if the battery dies while your out and about its a BIG HEAVY BRICK that you have to walk home under much less joyous conditions than you left under. Number four removable swappable batteries ( the other part of the range issue for urban commuting...can I up it? ...and for 140 bucks you can double your mileage) even with all my research I was still nervous about it but I have since had all fears allayed by the products performance. I have seen complaints about the Power(Speed) and the Weight but heres my reckoning Power: ITS NOT A CAR OR A MOTORCYCLE ....if youre looking to screech off the line spend some more cash and get a higher wattage motor and more expansive controller...this is the VALUE PRICED BIKE!!!! want premium speed...pay premium prices Weight: ITS NOT A PURE BICYCLE ....of course its heavy...theres a big ass motor and battery attached to it ...the tradeoff of course is mostly (unless you kill your battery) you will never push that whole weight around yourself ...want something lighter...rely on pure foot power SUMMARY IF YOURE LOOKING FOR AN ECONOMIC CHOICE FOR MID RANGE URBAN COMMUTE ...THIS IS YOUR BIKE....IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A TRUE CAR REPLACEMENT....SAVE FOR THIS BIKE...AND THEN SAVE THAT AGAIN ...THEN BUY A BIKE IN THAT PRICE RANGE the Pros: 1 compact form factor 2 portability (even as heavy as it is i can get it up and down stairs ...folded and unfolded... and i currently have a cast on my left hand) 3 the 350 watt motor is responsive and robust even on hills getting up to 20 neatly on flats ( I live in Tucson AZ currently and the town is one big hill tilted from south down to the north end and from up in the east and down in the west ...and even going south-east i.e. uphill both ways I keep a pretty constant 15mph) 4 Plug and play . I was riding within about 20 mins ( would have been about 8 minutes but like I said Im down a hand lol ) 5 Good aesthetic. the thing just looks cool!!! (although I really think Ill be doing a custom paint job) 6 Good Range (that 20 miles is pretty accurate ...the real danger is youll be having so much fun youll lose track of the distance youve ridden) the Cons 1 Its really heavy If your battery dies ...youre fudged.....I recommend carrying the charger ...and or buying a second battery 2 Its a beast to wrangle if youre not very strong(or physically impaired by say a cast on your hand) if you dont have stairs or storage worries get a non folding bike (like the EB-6) 3 its cool looking...get a heavy duty chain and lock 4 it would be SOOOOOOO much better with a 500 watt motor (hopefully Swagtron will come out with upgrade pacages) hopefully this helps a bit if youre looking around for an e-bike and are considering this one !!!.....Ive spent between 11 and 25 bucks a day on transport for some time now...at that rate my bike will pay for itself in two weeks ....and thats nothing to sneeze at Happy Riding !!!! ... show more

  • Charger didn't work. Bike is fun
Bike works fine, brakes are squeaky, the charger didn't work and I had to buy a replacement. After reading the reviews about the customer support I figured I'd just spend the 15 bucks and avoid the hassle.
