My wife has chronic pain in her back and left leg. We had a very expensive Cal King bed but she said that over time, she thought the bed was actually adding to her pain and she was unable to sleep all night without pain. She had heard from a friend, who had purchased an adjustable bed, that it had helped alleviate her and her husband’s pain. I suggested she go around to adjustable bed stores, try the beds out and see if any actually helped her, before we spent the money. She called me from a store and said she tried several, but when the sales lady had her try one with an adjustable lumbar support, her pain all went away. She said it was everything she was looking for, however, the price was $12,000. I told her I would check on Amazon to see if they had one with similar features at less cost, before we invested that much money. I found a Sven & Son Platinum Series Adjustable Split Cal King Bed Base + 14" Premium Memory Foam Mattress, with an adjustable Lumbar Support. It had all the features of the $12,000 bed for only 1/4 the cost. I read all the Reviews and found the biggest concern was the weight of the frames (but most all brands of adjustable frames, I had checked, weighed about the same). However, after having to hire help to lug them upstairs (245lbs ea), I had wished I had purchased the professional set-up service that had been available. The product is great and enables my wife to sleep all night now, pain free. I would have rated it 5-stairs, but the Customer Service was terrible. The Customer Service number, on the Owner's Manual, actually goes to an "Answering Service". They take your information/question and say they "will contact a Specialist who will get back to you within 24 hours". The problem is when you are in the middle of setting up the beds, with hired help, you want the help right then, not within "24 hour.” And, when the "Specialist" did call, it turned out that they were not able to answer my question and had to refer the problem to someone else before getting back to me. ... show more

Sven & Son Platinum Series Split King 12" medium Soft base. I have lower back pain and my old bed:... Well, it either made it worse or at least did not help. As of 3 days ago, I have this new bed, and here are my first impressions: The pro's: Communication: I communicated with Amazon my specific delivery needs. Sven&Son called back to communicate my options. The Trucking Company Followed up with an additional call to finalize. My delivery experience was perfect! The assembly of the base was as easy as it gets. (Cut a few zip ties, plug in the power cord, flip it around, screw in the feet - and done.) I was concerned that "Medium Soft" would be too soft for me, but it is not, I am happy that I did not pick "Firm" or "Plush". With the iPhone App, it is possible to set an alarm by changing the bed's position. Using a tablet or a laptop in bed is much more comfortable, watching TV might be better than on the couch. It's not a miracle cure, but my back feels better after 3 nights in this bed. The Con's: The Base is really (REALLY) heavy. I am glad that I did not have to move it up any stairs. Although I was able to set it up by myself, but only just. I certainly recommend a second person. I used 4 "Home depot buckets" to install the legs, in order to avoid bending them. It will take me some time to get used to the gap between the mattresses. The mattress seems to move off the frame on one side. The massage/vibrator is a joke, it hums more than it vibrates. It is noisier than I would have thought to adjust the bed. (The motor "whirrs".) Summary: We looked at a few beds in "bed stores", but they started either at $1500 - or $4000 above the price of this bed, depending on the store. It feels as if we have purchased a product of equal quality with considerable savings. If I would have the chance for a do-over, not only would I buy an adjustable bed again, I'd buy the very same bed from Sven&Son. ... show more

    • Great Bed for the price
We shopped several furniture stores to get an idea on the features and firmness before making this purchase and saved $5K. Although the stores did not carry this brand, they were very similar. We received the product before the delivery date indicated on Amazon. Beware that the delivery service will not bring in your home or even to your front door if you have the slightest raised step. This bed is very heavy but not too heavy for 2 grown adults. The set up was easy if you read the directions. Once you open the mattress it took over night to expand to the full 14" which also gives time for the smell of the foam to dissipate. We wish the remotes had a back light so that it's easier to navigate. It has a button for a flash light but the light is on the back of the remote which does not help you see the front. The firmness of the mattress' are actually harder than what we prefer so we are hoping within time they will get softer. The snore feature is nice but does not phase my husband!! :) I use the zero gravity quite often and have slept all night in that position a few times! All in all, we would buy this bed again. ... show more
