While it doesn't offer as much privacy as a cat door (as it leaves your door open a gap), it still works for my cat. It leaves a gap large enough for her to get in and out of my room. The foam ring prevents the door from closing all the way and locking her in or out. The tether allows it to open to how wide you adjust it. I put mine on my laundry door because that is where I keep my cats litter pan. I use both parts. I put a motion sensor light in there too. He uses it like a champ. Would highly recommend. I never have to worry even when I am gone that he would get locked out. 5 Stars all the way.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I put it on the door to a closet where the litter box and the cat food are placed. I have two 90+ lb dogs who are very interested in that closet. They are not able to wedge themselves in there! I used the adhesive at first and it wasn't holding well. I used the included hardware to beef them up and I've had no issues! Great product. Great quality. This has changed my world with my 11 month old puppy. I hate bedroom doors shut plus I have cats that like to come and go in and out of rooms. My puppy is a chewer and will steal anything she can get hold of and destroy it in 30 seconds! I can leave the doors open wide enough for the cats to come and go, but my puppy cannot get in and out.
