When it comes to home security cameras, I’m close to what you might call a power user. I’ve got a number of rental properties that I manage, and I’m constantly testing out new cameras to see what works best in terms of ease of use and connectivity versus cost. I’ve bought a number of cameras from SV3C over the past couple of years, and they’ve never disappointed me. The latest was a set of two 5MP PTZ cameras that connect over Wi-Fi. I installed these in a winter property I have in Phoenix, one for the inside and one outside. The main purpose is for motion detection. Outside, I’ve had issues with kids hopping the fence into my backyard. They know I’m away, and use my place to hang out and drink. For the inside, I want proof that the cleaning people come when they say they do. In both cases, the cameras have worked out great. Installation – they’ve really got this down to a science. There’s a Q code for the app, it downloaded in a minute, I plugged the cameras into power, and they were found and added in less than 2 minutes. That’s such a big plus for me, because I really don’t want to struggle with getting cameras up and running. PTZ – full range of motion, easy to work from phone app. Motion detection – Works perfectly. I was getting false positives from birds on the camera outside. With some tweaks to sensitivity and the “human motion” function selected, that problem was eliminated quickly. Or you can set the alarm area to ignore places where you might have animals or other interference. When it detects motion, you have the option of an audio alarm and/or strobe light, which is what I’ve got it set to for outside. All in all, I’m very satisfied with these new cameras. Functionality is solid, price is very competitive, quality is good, app is complete, and installation was by far the easiest that I’ve experienced in 5-6 years of installing and evaluating cameras. 5 stars.

SV3C Cloud Security Camera Review INSTALLATION: I have installed three other security camera systems, and this was definitely the most problem-free. Setting up my account with the cloud service was simple. The QR codes to set up the camera worked as intended. I did have to move the camera toward and away from the QR for it to read, and it definitely has to be straight on (as the directions say). The app down-loaded to my Android, and all of the features opened without a hitch. The interface on my phone Is simple and intuitive. It took me a minute to realize that the place on the cameral that says “reset” is not the button, but opens to reveal the actual reset button and SD port. An SD card did not come with the camera (as was noted in the ad), but I have several lying around. Someone with large fingers might have difficulty getting the SD back out of the recessed port, but a pair of needle-nosed pliers used gently works. FEATURES: The camera has more features than any other camera that I have purchased around this price-point. The light, strobe and/or voice warning is a nice option. The camera turns sideways and up-and-down to cover a wide area. I have not yet tried the AI feature that says it can distinguish between animals, objects or people, but that would be an added plus. The housing and mounting base seem sturdy enough. It can attach to a ceiling or wall surface. PICTURE: The daytime video and photos are of good, clear quality, but the night-time photos are exceptional for this price camera. I am accustomed to somewhat fuzzy night pictures on my other cameras, but these are clear and crisp. The night-time color option is very good too, if you don’t mind the bright light turning on. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I did not have to deal with customer service regarding this purchase, but a trail camera I purchased from the same seller a few months ago had a minor issue that was resolved promptly and courteously by a real human. SUMMARY: This appears to be an excellent surveillance camera for the price. I could not find anything that I would reduce any stars for. I cannot speak to its long term quality or durability yet, but so far, I’m impressed.
