Features
- The MOTOR SMART MINI PD-BTMP-S, LiDAR motor in LIVE AIR 3 SMART, doesn't require controllers or apps, Also making it easy to set up and execute autofocus. Each lens only needs an initial autofocus setup, and the saved lens data eliminates the need for repetitive adjustments. Up to 5 lens data can be stored, and 5 color-coded labels are provided for easy channel identification. Simply calibrate the lens travel each time for automatic retrieval of lens data.
- LiDAR auto ranging projects a total of 4096 ranging points with a 28-degree scanning angle and an actual scanning distance virtually extending from 4m. The high-torque 0.75Nm motor with 16384DPI easily drives various lenses. The autofocus function is compatible with manually focused lenses featuring hard stops or DSLR lenses with depth of field scale frames. Three adjustable autofocus speeds include high-speed sports mode, medium-speed standard mode, and slow-speed cinematic mode. Autofocus distance may be compromised in bright sunlight, but can be restored by wearing reflective stickers. Additionally, scanning distance is unaffected by any lighting or extremely dark environments.
- Array Focusing Technology automatically identifies and tracks the object closest/farthest from the LiDAR within the scanning range. If the scanned object moves out of the autofocus area, the motor will automatically move to a position near infinity until the object is detected again, then it moves to the actual focus distance. Switching between manual and automatic focus is easily, a short press on the motor button pauses autofocus for manual lens adjustment.
- Equipped with 2 motor batteries, each capable of working for up to 8 hours, they are rechargeable, and the accompanying charger can simultaneously charge both batteries. Also included is a universal lens gear ring supporting outer diameters from 42mm to 82mm, a 10cm long 15mm outer diameter rod, and a 15mm clamp accessories.
- PD-BTMP-S enables autofocus for manually focused lenses in various scenarios such as online streaming, solo dance, close-range sports, V-log, etc. Moreover, if you already own a PDL-TC-AFX or PDL-TC-AFP controller, PD-BTMP-S is compatible and transforms into a wireless follow focus system.

The media could not be loaded. I really, really wanted to like this thing. As a cine lens guy, this could have been a game changer. Considerably cheaper than the competition with excellent build quality, I couldn’t wait to get this on my camera. Got it all set up, and then it dawned on me - there is no way this thing is going to see over my matte box. Unwilling to go without my matte box, I had no choice but to return it. Maybe it’s for the best - the setup and use seemed super challenging because there’s only one button with no display.

Le puse una estrella porque no me permitía opinar sin poner una estrella Pero la verdad no le pondría nada No le pongo ni una estrella, porque es un verdadero dolor de cabeza poder calibrar. es demasiado confuso. Las baterías son muy dificultosas de insertar ya que es muy duro. Solo cuenta con un boton para todo y ahi esta el problema. son casi 500 dólares por algo que estresa en vez de aliviarte el trabajo de calibrar tus lentes. Funciona bien quizá cuanto tardaste mucho pero no es la maravilla. Mejor ahorrar e irte por sistema de autofocos mas intuitivo. No lo recomnendo.

In the process of returning this piece of metal, I have to do a reshoot on two scenes of a documentary because the auto focus was ever so slightly off. Try recalibrating twice in the middle of the freaking shoot. started using manual focus. Waste of money, time and energy. It also is a reflection on your expertise. I can't get that back from this company, so just get my money back

Es un buen competidor para dji si mejoran la experiencia de configuración. Con un botón y una luz indicador es bien difícil llegar a entender como funciona... debo mencionar que el servicio al cliente es espectacular, tube que hacerles una video llamada por WhatsApp para que me asistirán en el proceso de configuración. Pienso que deberían añadir una pequeña pantalla para navegar y hacer tus configuraciones y deberían ser más de 4 metros de distancia focal, termine vendiendo el mio porque adquirir un estabilizador dji entonces hay más compatibilidad y mejoras usando el range finder que pdmovie

Where do I start? I followed the calibration instructions perfectly. It more or less functioned exactly as it was supposed to when calibrating it. Everything that happened in the instructional video happened with me when setting it up. But in a nutshell, the product is useless. It doesn't work. I am able to get my hand in focus by changing the distance. When the lidar can finally lock on to my hand, it can only make a feeble attempt at keeping it in focus. It will sputter and try to rotate the focus ring, but nothing happens in the realm of auto focus. It does not matter if I move my hand slowly or quickly. It can't even keep the focus assist card they provide in focus if I move backwards at a snail's pace. You get what you pay for. I would highly advise staying away from this product. Don't even waste your enemy's money on this. Well, if you know someone that is really into video and cinema, and you hate them, you could buy them this and it will surely ruin their day. Stay away.

If you dig you can figure out how to set up autofocus. You can find out how to turn the unit off. But what you wont find is instructions for turning the unit on, and starting autofocus. This thing works reasonably well if you are adventurous enough to try it. But for any serious work, you want something much better.
