Besides receiving an used product, the dip station is well built, holds the weight well 185lbs 6’0, and is easy to setup and move around. Not too heavy. One of the problems for those searching for a dip station is that it may be too wide. I particularly like narrower stations and this is a bit too wide for me. If a person is not very tall, it may be difficult to exercise with. I am 6’0 and the dip handles feel too wide. My wife is 4’11 and it’s virtually impossible for her to use It’s a sturdy apparatus and looks great but again, if there was a way to adjust the dip handles a couple inches on each side it would improve functionality. ... show more

This is a great dip machine. Its actually my second bar. I had one of the loop style bars, and it worked ok, but it was a little low to the ground, even at the highest setting, so it was difficult to get full extension. This machine goes together fairly easily, and it comes with the tools needed, though it would be faster with real tools. The bars are set a little wide, and this could put your shoulders in a bad situation, if you go too fast. I have previously injured a shoulder from doing dips too fast, so I am acutely aware of the danger. For me the wider grip is a subtle reminder to mind my technique. I really like the potential height for this bar. It allows me to get full extension, and I do a knee raise at the end which allows me to get full shoulder rotation, which really seems to put extra emphasis on my upper chest at the top of each rep. I am 210 to 220 and about 6'0" tall (short legged). This machine feels stable and durable for my size. I love the setup, and I am glad my son talked me in to giving him my previous loop bar. I keep this at my office and I hit dips about every 1.5 hours. ITs a nice little refresher from sitting at my desk. My wife appreciates what it does for my chest and shoulders as well. ... show more

Ok - definitely too wide by a few inches. It's "ok" for me because I have wide shoulders, but there is minimal tricep engagement here. It's primarly training shoulders & lower pec for me. Someone with a smaller frame would probably find this useless. As for sturdiness - solid 8/10. It does the job but I do feel the slightest wobble sometimes. There is also a poor point of design in that you NEED the 4 rubber feet for this to sit level. Why not just bevel the bottom so the bolts sit flush? That's just lazy. ... show more

Needs a flat surface. The foam won't last very long. Everything else is made very strong have used it now for 2 years, foam grips only lasted 1 month. Looks brand new besides the grips. Use it everyday.
