  • A Piece of Solid Metal. Perfect for Garage Desk!
Size: 6 FT
This surge protector is built very well. I screwed it down on my garage working table. It’s exactly what I needed! The heavy-duty metal housing feels industrial-grade. The layout gives plenty of room for larger plugs & adapters, the cord is thick and sturdy… Perfect! I real like it. It’s easy to mount to a flat surface. I’ve been running multiple power tools and chargers from it with no any issues. The built-in surge protection adds peace of mind, especially in a busy shop environment. Can't think of any complaints. Just a nice, cost-effective multi-plug solution that should last a long time. If you need a really big capacity and reliable protection, this one is nice to have. Will order one more soon. ... show more

  • Well-made, server room grade surge protector
Size: 6 FT
This is a well-built surge protector power strip with 16 outlets. Obviously 16 is a lot of outlets. But that's about the right amount to organize my entertainment "cluster". Or home office, now that I think about it. However, the power strip is not bulky, but rather streamlined, with just enough room for the outlets plus control. The outlets are close'ish together; so you would need your plugs to be streamlined as well. The body is primarily metal construction with heavy plastic for the outlets. It feels solid, weighty. The cord length is thick and heavy-duty. I appreciate that it's also long. Personally, I also appreciate that the power plug and the outlets are all front facing. So the size of the strip is pretty much the entire footprint you need to worry about for mounting. The power plug that connects the cord to the strip has a built-in locking mechanism that prevents unintentional unplugging. That's a good feature for security. On the other hand, it means the power plug sits taller than expected, and may make the strip awkward if mounted on the wall and unbalanced if it's sitting on the floor. The strip comes with heavy-duty but short machine screws and nuts. My guess is these are included for mounting to server racks, or some other metal surface (e.g., toolbox, workbench leg). For the rest of us, you will have to use your own judgement and use different screws for other surfaces. But mounting is versatile. It should be noted that the strip is just fine laying on the floor, like pretty much all of my power strips so far. Operationally, it should be noted that each outlet has a consistent but tight fit, suggesting it's best to use two hands to plug (possibly), and unplug (definitely). It's a long strip. So a solid mounting may only help to an extent. If you require one hand operation like at a tool bench, that may be a consideration. The $40 price when I picked this up feels high, but it's worth the value for a rugged and durable power strip with a good design and useful features. ... show more

  • Overal not a single complaint
Size: 6 FT
I waited to fill out a review on this product till I had used it a while. Its been 3 months and some weeks since I received it and 2 months or so since I started using it. So far I have yet to have an issue with it. At present, its being used for kitchen appliances and a few small aquarium setups. Everything stays on 24/7 and I've yet to have a single surge or failed port. For some users I'm sure the locking power cable is very situational but so far it has yet to come undone or get damaged with more than a few dragging feet and a dog not paying attention. My only issue is that it is weird being located on the top of the strip. But if the strip is flat on the floor or hanging on a wall it would actually be irrelevant, probably even helpful to prevent shorts from internal cables being constantly bent. ... show more

  • Unable to mount

  • Great quality, very handy
Size: 6 FT
We have been using this in our basement which lacks a lot of outlets, and it's been incredibly helpful. The number of outlets on it is truly more than I'll ever need, so I have not tested its power at full capacity, but so far it has been reliable even using it for several weeks. I doubt you would ever be able to use all 16 outlets at once, as they are packed in pretty tight, so it would be hard to get any bulky plugs to fit directly next to others. That said, again, it has so many outlets, you will generally have room to just use one over if needed. Despite being plenty long, it's not overly bulky. I really LIKE the fact that it's mountable, although we have commitment-phobia and have been moving it around rather than keeping it in one place. That said, the 6 foot cord isn't bad, but I wouldn't be mad at a longer one either. The quality seems high with a metal body and fire protection, which I appreciate, being that it's in the basement where we aren't as likely to see any fires right away, so I feel more secure knowing it has built-in fire protection. Overall I recommend this strip! ... show more

  • A beast of a power strip, but outlets are packed tight
Size: 6 FT
I guess it says something about me that I keep acquiring more things to plug in, but I find that there is never a shortage of new devices, chargers, etc. that are all vying for outlets. In my garage at least, it's partially because I continue to hone my DIY skills -- and with that, augment my powertool collection. In that garage, I had employed a series of cheap plastic power strips, but they don't stay put, and they feel like they would get overloaded (although I only tripped any fuses very infrequently). But anyway, it was time to step up my game and get something a bit more durable. I saw this 16 outlet metal strip and decided I should make the (admittedly minor) leap. I'm glad I did. I did go to the trouble to mount the unit just under my pegboard, but I don't think it would have slid around anyway on my workbench. The thing is seriously sturdy and solid. But it's not so heavy that it couldn't slid around a bit. It comes with a locking power cord, which I suppose is a nice touch. Once I got it in, I didn't have a need to try to remove it and in my location, accidental disconnection isn't a big risk. But nonetheless, I was glad for the feature. I don't have every plug filled already, but that's just a matter of time. But the only issue I have is that the outlets are packed quite close to each other. If you have a bunch of wall wart power adapters, you are going to loose a bunch of usable outlets. My solution has been to use heavy duty 6 inch extension cords to move those power adapters off the strip itself. But then you are spending a bit more money and it becomes a bit messy. I'm not sure the solution to this otherwise -- and contemplated taking a star off but decided otherwise. It's just the nature of the beast I suppose. So overall, if you have a lot of stuff to plug in and what something sturdy and meant to last, this is a great solution. ... show more

  • Super heavy duty but some design limitations
Size: 6 FT
I really do appreciate this product. It is extremely heavy duty and feels like it will last a long time. The thing is made mostly of metal and comes with several different ways to mount it. I was surprised by how affordable it was and honestly was expecting a lower quality product for the price point so the fact that it proved me wrong is a major win to me. I desperately needed something that could provide me more than 10 plugs AND provide surge protection and this delivers on that promise. That all being said, there are two things that have led to me reducing 1 star from my review. The first is the power cable plug. When I first say it, I thought it looked cool and I appreciated the way it was removable, meaning I could replace it in the future if anything went wrong with it. However, I am not a fan about how far it sticks straight out. I really wish it had come with a 90 degree plug instead that had a lower profile. I guess I can always find something like that, but don't really want to spend the extra money currently. The second thing I think that could be improved is the plug spacing. They really are close together. So if you have anything that uses an adapter that plugs directly into the outlet, then you really can't have two of those side by side. The plugs are just too close to one another. That all being said, it is still the best surge protector power strip I own. Highly recommend as long as you realize the few limitations. ... show more
