30 yr old pipe, was adjusting showerhead and snap chrome pipe in my hand with half the threads still in wall. Went to youtube saw this extractor.and ordered. While waiting for product to arrive, I sprayed the broken section in the wall w penetrating lube. Next day the product came.. three light taps with wrench to secure extractor. Put wrench on end and with two light taps on wrench counter clockwise and wham it loosened and out; all within 2 minutes.. took me longer to open the package nicely for post storage then the project. Very happy to add this tool to my tool box. I saw others at the local store but this was stronger and more solidly built in my opinion.

This is a high quality, sturdy, American made by Superior tool of Naperville, IL. I couldn’t find anything like it locally, including online in Home Depot or Lowe’s, so due to the high ratings, I bought it. I had a shower arm break off inside the copper elbow inside my wall. I tapped the Nipple Extractor into the broken off nipple inside the wall with a hammer firmly. I then put an 11/16 socket over it, and using a 1/2” ratchet , turned the tool counterclockwise, which allowed the tool to grip the broken nipple and allowed me to unscrew it in one piece out of the wall. I’m pretty good with tools and waited until Amazon delivered this tool, as trying other methods would surely not have been as easy and trouble free as this was. Superior tool saved me an expensive plumber visit !! Very glad I bought it.

My shower arm broke off leaving part of the threaded portion stuck inside the drop-ear elbow fitting located behind the sheetrock in the wall. All attempts as using pliers failed to extract the broken piece. I first tried using a 1/2" Internal Pipe Wrench (Superior Tool #5212) but this didn't work at all. I then tried this 1/2" Shower Arm/Nipple Remover (Superior Tool #5245) and it worked PERFECTLY first try! Using a hammer, I gently tapped this tool into the pipe and then using a wrench turned counter clockwise and the broken pipe was immediately extracted. I'm SO THANKFUL to not have to hire a plumber to tear into the sheetrock! EXCELLENT TOOL!

THIS little tool saved me $150 in plumber fees - because I did it myself. A few firm taps onto the end of it, to wedge it into the broken threaded pipe that was stuck in the wall pipe - and a few turns, and I got the broken piece out. Whoever originally designed/created this tool is a freaking genius! I fixed my shower in less than 30min. Installed a new shower arm, reattached the shower head - then took a shower. and zero leaks, due to the Teflon tape on all threadings.

Great design and functionality. I went to move the shower head and the shower arm snapped at the elbow inside the wall behind a circular cut in the tile. I was unable to come up with anything that worked to remove the 1/2 “ nipple that remained. I started researching and found this. It worked perfectly! So happy I found this item.

I accidentally broke the shower arm pipe while trying to remove the shower head. The threaded portion of the pipe (the nipple) was embedded deep in wall. This tool worked and successfully removed the nipple with no damage to the threads of the wall pipe. There is one tip that turned out to be critical. I couldn't get the nipple out at first, because the pipe in the wall kept twisting. I realized that the pipe had two flanges with holes meant to secure the pipe, but whoever installed the pipe didn't put in screws. I put in two screws to secure the pipe to the wooden board behind it. Once the wall pipe was secured, the nipple came out within 30 seconds. I didn't need to tap the tool with a hammer. The tool slipped initially when I turned it but within a 1/4 of a turn, it engaged the nipple. I attached a picture of the nipple removed by the tool. I untwisted the nipple and the tool is undamaged. It is good to go to be used again. FYI, I picked this tool because it is long enough for reach the pipe in my wall. With the tool engaged, there was at least 1 inch of tool for me to grab with my wrench. Then I didn't have to worry about the wrench scratching the shower wall.

Absolutely works!! I tried a 10" tapered file after watching a youtube video. It didn't come close to working. I purchased a set of Kobalt nipple extractors. They didn't come close to working. I purchased this Shower Arm/Nipple remover. I tapped it twice to set the teeth and in literally fifteen seconds the threads were out, saving me from hiring a plumber. I'd give this tool ten stars if that was possible.

Don’t waste your money on any other brand of this attachment. They won’t work. I bought many other ones at cheaper price to get out the broken piece in my shower arm. They didn’t work no matter how hard I tried. This one worked in 5 seconds.
