The tire shop wrenches feature a rugged Tire tread rubber cover on the head intended to specifically be used for checking wheel lug nuts and are available in 3/8" And 1/2" Drives. The electronic torque wrenches ensure a more precise fastener torque Level and are available in a 3/8" And 1/2" Drives. Most 1/2 digital wrenches in this price range only go to 150lbs, but I needed something over 200lbs and this wrench works great. I almost broke down and bought the Snapon TechAngle for over $500, but then I found this. That being said, this IS NOT COMPARABLE AT ALL to the Snapon as other reviewers claim. Because the Snapon TechAngle does just that, it also measures ANGLE!!!! This wrench does NOT do that. If you need ANGLE measurements, and over 200ftlbs and stellar warranty, you should buy the Snapon! If you don't need angle measurements, flex head, best warranty, and highest resale value, but still want a digital wrench that goes over 200lbs then this is very good option, I have been using it for a few months now, and It's very good FOR THE PRICE. ... show more

A bit hard to program but once set it beeps at you so you don't have to stare at the gauge which is hard to read while you are actually torqueing something. The gauge then displays the max torque you applied to verify. You can set the beep to activate at any percentage you want short of the max torque you set. It stores the last settings so you don't have to program it each time you use it if you are torqueing the same things. It displays the current settings when you turn it on. Took a while to get it turned on because the first two sets of batteries I tried didn't work, but the third set did. For the record, the 1/2" drive fixed-head wrench uses three AAA batteries, not two AAs as per the Amazon description. After a quick trial, it seems to work well. The vibration is a little weak for my liking, if I had the option I would probably just turn it off because I can't really feel it through my gloves. It's a very weak, high-frequency vibration with a loose and almost tinny-sound rather than more of a strong, tight vibration from something like an iPhone or Playstation controller. Aside from that, the light isn't that great either as it's a small, individual LED on the screen so unless you're looking directly at it, you won't notice it. I think if GearWrench ever upgraded this model, an LED ring around the top of the handle would work much better. I think it's an okay torque wrench for the money. It feels solid and the ratchet action is tight and smooth so you can always get a nice angle to torque your wheel lugs. ... show more

Purchased this wrench in July of 2021. I primarily use it to torque lug nuts in the 80-100ftlb range. As others stated the battery holder end cap is fickle at times. Sometimes you have to take it off and put it back on to get good contact to turn on. I always store it in the case when I'm done. I don't toss it around or man handle it, its a torque wrench after all. Recently I noticed I was having more trouble than normal getting it to turn on. Low an behold, the battery compartment was broken. It's just plastic, and the end cap screws on. So I must have bumped it or something. I am contacting Gearwrench to try and get a part, so we'll see how that goes. For $140, I fear the repair center will want more $$ to repair it, than it will cost to replace it (asuming they won't let me buy the part and do my own work). Long story short, I would look else where that has a different end cap design. This one is too delicate for working on cars. ... show more
