They offer the ease of 5 degrees of movement to turn fasteners, versus 30 degrees on standard combination wrenches. The small Ratcheting box end Head design enables access to tight spots where a ratchet won't fit. The open end allows for easier access on tough to reach spots, making jobs go faster and easier. This set is a great addition to any mechanic tools Collection. Gearwrench combines the speed of a ratchet with the access and control of a wrench with this 16-piece metric set of master ratcheting wrenches (model 9416). They offer the easy of 5 degrees of movement to turn fasteners, versus 30 degrees on standard combination wrenches. The small ratcheting box end head design enables access to tight spots where a ratchet won't fit. The open end allows ratcheting of nuts and bolts without removing the wrench from the fastener, making jobs go faster and easier. This set comes with a wrench locker rack that holds the wrenches in place for easy transport and storage. 16-piece metric wrench set with molded wrench rack and the following sizes of wrenches: Since launching the original patented 50 ratcheting wrench, GearWrench has continuously led with breakthroughs in pass-through ratchets, sockets, screw/nut drivers, pliers, and specialty tools. No matter the industry you find yourself in, GearWrench has the tools to fit your needs -- from the precise to the nearly indestructable. GearWrench hand tools are warranted for life to be free of defects in material and workmanship. The patented GearWrench Ratcheting Wrench needs as little as 5º of movement to turn a fastener. abunda_amazon_reviews Bad Quality Control. I bought these thinking I was upgrading my current Kobalt ratcheting wrench from lowes but I was half right. KOBALT has a higher polish, centered ratchets, color coated with a strip, blue for metric and red for SAE, also an arrow to show which way the ratchet will turn. The ratchets are decent with little play and good teeth, consistent through all of them. Gearwrench is a toss up. In the set I got, there are three wrenches that I consider to be perfect, 12mm, 14mm, 9/16. The ratchets on these are centered, no play at all, with strong, fine teeth. These are clearly superior to the kobalt. But then I have three, 13mm, 16mm, 5/8, that are terrible. The ratchets are not centered, wobble to much play, rattle like a can, and the teeth are gritty and one feels like the ratcheting system barely engages the teeth. The rest are somewhere in between. I'm keeping my kobalt set and returning these. The kobalt have good QC and are consistent with one another and if I have problems, lowes is down the street. Also the gearwrench does not come with holders. Kobalt does. That's about $10 value;;Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2019;;3.0 out of 5 stars;;Buy Kobalt;;Amazon Customer;;;Look to be good sturdy wrenches. Flat with no offset to protect your knuckles; had to be this way since the loose/tighten ratchet works only by turning the wrench over, no lever. I believe Stanley makes one with a lever, and an offset. However, I would never recommend anyone buy them in this form; the packaging was Horrible. Instead of a roll-up tool holder, or something useful that could be used to store the tools, what you get is probably retail display anti-theft packaging that nearly cost me a finger. Wrenches are covered with two strips of heavy plastic about 1/2" wide, riveted to the base not just at the ends, but between each wrench. I could not get even one wrench started, so resorted to tearing the strip into short pieces with a large pair of Vice-Grips. Took 20 minutes or more, and had I not been wearing heavy leather gloves I could easily have cut my finger to the bone; the 1/2" cover strip is tapered at the edges, and sharp. I've used / borrowed Snap-on tools from friends - different league to this GearWrench stuff. The GearWrench ratchet quality / feel varies from one wrench to the next with these, some stiff and/ or jerky, some very loose - an indicator of less than top quality IMO. There are visible toolmarks on the jaws of the open end, some dings and chips generally, and the quality of the chrome finish could be better. I have wrenches made by Craftsman (old) and Tekton (recent). The old craftsmen are definitely superior to GearWrench, and the Tekton have a much better finish. Can't speak to the Durability of Tekton or GearWrench yet, need a few years of use on them. I love these wrenches. I work in a mechanic's shop and these things have never let me down. The ratchets can take some good torque without much problem. Very seldom, but sometimes the ratcheting action gets stuck/won't move, but I've found that a whack/drop on the ground gets it back to working instantly. By seldom I mean I use these wrenches ten hours a day, five days a week since last November and I've encountered that happening maybe three times. The wrenches are comfortable in the hand and I've never had a problem with using them. I much prefer the feel of them over my coworker's MAC set and they're at least on par with the feel of my other coworker's Snap-on set, plus neither of them are ratcheting. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who needs a good wrench set. They're comfortable, easy to use, and have stayed strong over months of absolutely nonstop use and abuse. That, coupled with Gearwrench being a Craftsman brand, mean that if they ever do somehow break, mean that these can be warrantied out anytime at any Sears and most Advance Auto Parts as well. Absolute 5/5, I'm incredibly satisfied with these wrenches.;;Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2015;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Great tools for anyone, on par with Snap-on;;Justin;;;Just as a preface this review is based on a professional mechanic in day to day use at a shop. When they arent shattered the ratcheting feels decent so maybe for a home gamer who isn't harsh on his/her tools these may be fine but in a professional setting where tools need to hold up to day to day use I'd just bite the bullet and buy snap on.;;Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2019;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Ratcheting end very weak;;Nick

Took 20 minutes or more, and had I not been wearing heavy leather gloves I could easily have cut my finger to the bone; the 1/2" cover strip is tapered at the edges, and sharp. Shame on GearWrench for this terrible packaging.

Great, until one broke.
I've used these almost exclusively for the past 18 months on everything from automotive to home appliance and hobby projects and loved them... Until yesterday. The 13mm ratcheting side mechanism failed and now spins freely in both directions. It reminded me how much worse a regular box end wrench is when I had to use my backup 13mm 12-point to finish the job. Customer Service isn't available on the weekend, so we'll see how the warranty exchange goes next week.

A Long Way Short of Snap-on Quality
I bought a set of 16 of these metric wrenches on a Daily Deal special. $60 for 16 wrenches is OK (made in China). Bottom line is that if Snap-on are rated as 5 for a benchmark, then I would score old Craftsman 4, Tekton 4, and these GearWrench 3. OK for the $, but don't expect anywhere near Snap-on.

Great tools for anyone, on par with Snap-on
I've had a set of these Gearwrench ratcheting combo wrenches in my toolbox for months now and I picked this set up to get the larger sizes. Absolute 5/5, I'm incredibly satisfied with these wrenches.

Ratcheting end very weak
Just as a preface this review is based on a professional mechanic in day to day use at a shop. Been using these for about a month or so. As the picture shows the gear/ratcheting end cracked after just a few uses. This has now happened to 6 of the wrenches in this set. When they arent shattered the ratcheting feels decent so maybe for a home gamer who isn't harsh on his/her tools these may be fine but in a professional setting where tools need to hold up to day to day use I'd just bite the bullet and buy snap on.
