πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Milwaukee M18 impact wrench receives largely positive reviews from its users. Appreciated for its compact design, power and reliability, it is often used for vehicle maintenance and professional work. A few users mention it as a game changer for their work. Some prefer the mid-torque version for its strength and lesser weight compared to the full size model.

Pros

  • πŸ”§ Compact design allows it to fit into tight spaces
  • πŸ’ͺ Powerful enough to handle a variety of tasks, including loosening lug nuts and bolts
  • πŸ‘ Auto feature slows down the tool once bolts and nuts are loosened
  • πŸ”‹ The Mid-Torque variant is lighter yet as powerful for certain tasks
  • πŸ’‘ Built-in lights

Cons

  • πŸ”© Requires correct setting use to display its full power
  • βš–οΈ Full size variant might be heavy for some users
  • 🧰 One user reported a technical issue but had a good warranty service experience

Should I Buy It?

If you are seeking a compact, powerful, and reliable impact wrench, this product comes highly recommended. The power settings need correct usage to unleash its full capabilities. A minor complaint regarding technical issues seemed to be handled well by their warranty service.

  • Milwaukee 1/2” Mid Torque Impact Wrench
This thing’s a beast for its size. The Milwaukee 2962-20 delivers serious torque (up to 1,000 ft-lbs for breakaway) without being bulky or heavy. It’s compact, super comfortable to hold, and works great for stuff like tire changes, suspension work, or general jobsite tasks. The 4-mode drive control is a nice touch β€” especially the bolt removal mode. Build quality? Solid. Typical Milwaukee β€” tough and dependable. The LED lighting is bright and well-placed, and swapping sockets is quick with the friction ring. ... show more

  • Super Torque yet Super Controllable
This is the bomb! Super strong but also easily controllable. Blasts off frozen nuts so easily, yet on the other hand, it is the easiest tool for removing and installing lug nuts. Will spin off tight nuts with ease, then automatically slows down as they get loose and come off. 30 ft# pre-torque mode is handy to set fasteners before going to full torque. Very strong, sturdy, well built tool, as are most of the tools in the M18 line from Milwaukee. ... show more

  • good value
Brand new in the box, I was worried that this was going to be a used one because the price was very reasonable. But I was wrong. Been using it for a while now and it works like a champ and should last a while. Its got enough power to take off lug nuts on most things, there has been a few things ive had to up to a little bigger impact. ... show more

  • Great impact gun
I am slowly building my battery tool box up. I Love air tools and never thought I would like a battery powered impact gun but, I do. I am surprised by the power output and long battery life. I replaced shocks on an older rusty truck and had no problem. The shock bolts were rusted so badly I was worried about them snapping when applying any torque. The Milwaukee spun them off before they had a chance to snap. I also removed the rear differential cover, again just rusty and seized up bolts. I set the gun to the lowest setting to be safe on the low torque bolts and they zipped right off. It was awesome having power settings at the press of a button compared to dialing down air pressure. The milwaukee handled them all with no trouble and didn’t drop the battery by even 1 bar by the end of the job. The small size was able to squeeze in tight places , no air hose to deal with and lights to help me see what was goin on. My only gripe would be the directional button being easy to press on accident. A few times while upside down I did press it into the lock position. Not sure where a better spot for it might be or maybe just a studier button or shorter button would help. A minor gripe but it was the only thing remotely negative. I still love my air tools and not sure I can ever fully replace them(I love my ingersol rand thunder gun). However this battery impact is awesome and can go anywhere and brings the power with it. ... show more

  • Warrantee DOES work, was effortless when I needed it, will do lugs with the right sockets, read on.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the mid torque. It's weak for lugnuts IF you use a flip socket, if you use a short socket it works great, and with a long pattern it's still pretty good. The full size one is a beast (I own it and it will rip lugs off a semi) but was giving me tennis elbow from the weight of the thing which is shy I bought the mid torque, For the size this thing is STRONG, and the lights are nice. I do not recommend the milwaukee branded rubber protector, way overpriced, there is one with a skull on it from another company that is available here on amazon that fits great and keeps dirt out of it. I ran into an issue with mine late december 2022, bought it august 2021 so a little less than a year and a half in. My trigger would sometimes do nothing, and it felt like I didn't have much power but honestly at first I didn't think it had enough anyway. I went to the milwaukee site I already have my full size registered, and just had to screenshot the invoice from amazon as proof of purchase. Really the whole warrantee process was no problem at all, fill out the form online, send proof of purchase, wait a couple of hours and they approved it and sent me a shipping label. Dropped it at UPS or Fedex I forget which just before christmas and had it back a couple days after the New Year so considering the holidays etc I was please. They replaced the whole inside as far as I can tell, the rotor for low rpms and the "electronics assembly" for wear. I'm a professional auto technician and use this thing a LOT as you can imagine. Bottom line is that you can't go wrong. Ignore the guy who said the warranty doesn't work, unless you abuse your tool it will be covered so if you drop it or run over it expect to get nowhere, it's not the tools fault. Cost of the parts on the repair invoice were more than I paid for the tool to begin with, and I paid ZERO for the repair. It's a 5 year warranty. Use the right socket and you'll do lugs, and pretty much anything else is cake. I still need my full size from time to time when some ape torques the wheels to 400 or whatever but that is to be expected. Great tool and the company stands behind it, which was a relief as I never had to use their warranty service before and I have a lot of Milwaukee tools and the underhood lamp etc etc it works and thats it. ... show more
