  • Exactly what I was looking for.
I already had a large tow behind wood chipper which can demolish anything up to firewood size. However leaves would pass through it relatively un-mulched. Also, I wanted something gas powered because I would be operating too far away from a source of electricity and to have extra power. The SuperHandy is fits in that spot nicely. It pulverizes smaller twigs, leaves, bush branches, etc, into small mulch that takes up much less space. I actually just use it on my land so it saves me having to burn this green waste as well. I do wish the hopper was a bit wider as a lot of the stuff that goes into it is more odd-shaped or less dense. I was thinking of making a mod to hook this into an ATV receiver to carry it around (elevated off the wheels while on the hitch) ... show more

  • Electric machine Doesn't work
First off, I ordered a gas machine that cost nearly 500 dollars. I received an electric machine that's about half the price. Worse of all, it worked for less than 5 minutes and went off and has not come on since. Exhausted trouble shooting, still defective. Company unreliable. Tried contacting them from information on inserts, website doesn't exist. What a terrible shame that people would be dishonest, even in their business dealings. Never doing business with them again. Getting my full refund 😌 ... show more

  • Works good for the price
For those that are wondering, like I was, what the inside impellers look like here are pictures. There are 2 impellers with the flat "W" shaped piece, and 2 impellers with double thin blades. I spent several hours today shredding old wet leaves and it did a good job for the price. I own the electric leaf shredder from the same company, and although that is great on bone dry leaves, it just clogged up too much on wet leaves to the point I largely gave up using it. When I saw they had this gas model, I had to give it a try. It is definitely more powerful and much better at shredding wet leaves (or any other yard waste). As I anticipated, the 3 long bolts that block the discharge chute kept creating clogs, so I took them off. I also found that the chute narrows too much at the bottom, creating clogs in the chute sometimes. Overall, it is a good deal for the price. The only thing that could make it better would be if they took the bigger, straight chute off the electric model and fit it onto this gas model. Next time I use this I will coat the inside with teflon or ceramic spray. ... show more

  • It works
I purchased this product because I have several acres of yard and trees with massive amounts of leaves and twigs to clean up every year. The product was packaged well and appeared to be good quality aside from the cheap plastic/tin throttle. Like most gas powered items it does not come with oil. Once I added oil and gas I attempted to start the engine with no luck. It says to prime the ball three times which I did and there was no firmness like most primer balls. Since I could smell the gas I took the sparkplug out and discovered the ground was touching the electrode. Luckily I had a gap tool and gapped it to the required spacing. It was also missing a nut to secure the throttle. I continued to pull the cord with no luck. I went ahead and primed the ball about 10 times then it finally started. I let it run for 30 minutes while using it then shut it off to get more leaves. When I tried to start it again, it would not start. I primed it again several times and it started. I also took the safety guard off. With it on, you have to continually poke the leaves down the chute which can be a safety issue on its own. There was very little blow back with the guard off so I was safe with glasses on. I was able to throw a scoop of leaves in and let the vibration and gravity take them to the blades. Time will tell if this was a good purchase but it did a good job once it was running. ... show more

  • needs slight modification
This is just what I was looking for to shred leaves for use in the vegetable garden. I replaced the bolts that went through the discharge vent with a couple short carriage bolts. The long bolts were causing the discharge to plug up and were not at all needed to hold the discharge shield in place. I also removed the left half of the baffle on the feeding area and only feed the leaves through the left side which hugely reduces the plugging up problem. You will quickly see how fast you can feed the machine. I used it mostly on an old pile of wet caked together leaves and it worked splendidly. When the machine plugged up from feeding it to fast, I would use a 1" stick to poke the leaves on through. This worked fine because if you poked it in too far the shredder would just eat off the end of the stick. Be safe WEAR GOGGLES. ... show more

  • IT'S MOSTLY ORANGE
And the engine is black. The wheels are round. It runs on gas. It needs 17oz of 15W-40 oil. Assembly was fairly easy. I'm not allowed to share my complete experience with this item but please research carefully before buying. Myself or my company would never buy anything from this seller/manufacturer again. ... show more

  • Great Customer Support
I loved how this machine was so easy to install. The installation manual was easy to understand and it didn't take long for a 65-year-old woman and young assistant to put it together. I had some questions about the engine oil and gasoline requirements so I called Great Circle. Paul in customer and technical support was an outstanding help in answering all of my questions. He also went over the usage questions I had and he was also able to direct me to where I could find the online copies of the manuals. They have an excellent website with other great DIY products. I am very happy with my purchase. ... show more
