Have you ever played that Traffic Jam game where you have to figure out how to drive the red car out of the box? (It's a really good game, by the way.) The "Classic" style is basically that game but you can't look at the back of the card to see the answer. Whether that's an advantage or not, I'll let you decide. It is QC certified, which is nice to know. Operating it is kind of complicated so don't throw out the manual right away. Like, you'll probably have to start reading it just to turn the thing on (spoiler: you can't just push the ON button). I'd say the game's appropriate for ages 8 and up, unless your younger kid really loves and is good at puzzles, in which case, maybe she or he can figure out turning the game on without needing to read. Once you get a game started it is fairly straightforward: slide the tiles around until you can get the big red one into the middle of the bottom row and then push the button on the red tile for a little celebration music. The tiles are magnetic, so they don't fall off if the game tips, and there is a little extra storage slot on the back. The game keeps track of what puzzles you've done, so you don't have to repeat the easy ones unless you want to reset it back to game 1. As an example of the easiness level, you only have to move about two tiles to win the first one. They get harder as you go. The battery compartment cover is not screwed on, but never fear for your battery-eating toddlers, it is wedged in so tightly you need a screwdriver to remove it anyway. (K, but for serious, this is not appropriate for toddlers because of all the small magnetic tiles.) I have not tested all the modes and features yet, but I'd say what I've seen and done with it is pretty cool. $44.99 seems a little bit high to me for what it is, but assuming you can figure out how to turn the volume down, it may be worth it to you. P.S. In case you didn't know (I didn't) a Klotski puzzle is an ancient traditional sliding puzzle. You're welcome.

I picked this up for a road trip and my six and eight year old loved it. They took turns playing and once they understood the mechanics they progressed kind of quickly but soon found it challenging again. The one thing I don't like is there are six buttons that all have several functions. Not a big deal, if they were labeled.

This is a neat little game that requires you to get the red square down to the bottom center of the screen, and you have to move single squares and double squares out of the way in order to move it. It has 500 levels to play, each one getting a little harder to do. It is very easy to play and doesn't require a crash course in the directions. I had it on and was playing within a minute of removing it and installing the batteries, which it comes with as well as a small screwdriver to open the back panel. It's a fun little game that is portable with no little pieces to keep track of, which for a mom is a win win. I am happy with this product.

...the kiddo just lost interest in it. They were super engaged for the first 5 days and then went on a weekend trip and just lost interest. They did like the puzzle solving and being able to manipulate the tiles and build different patterns. Giving 5 stars as when they were into it, they were really into it and would talk about it a lot, which is rare for them for any toy/learning equipment.

Such a simple concept, but a fun game. Seems like endless levels to play, and it's easy to just pick up and play for a bit. I like the display with the level info and the timer so you can race. The sounds are also fun. Great purchase.
