Oh my God I had the best fun with this item! I loved it so much I almost ended up keeping it for myself and my entertainment! My best friend and I are always doing something for one another for the holidays and just because. Sometimes we like to make things fun for the other person so for his birthday I ordered this especially for him. I got it and green because that's both of our favorite colors. One of the cool things that you can get this in any color of your choice. I got him some Taffy and a gift certificate in which it fit a little snug but I still got it in there. I even tried it out and it took me a long time to get that gift certificate but the fun was certainly worth it! So after I tested it I locked it back up and I shipped it on its way to my bestie. When he received the package, I didn't hear from him until the next day because it took him awhile to get his gift certificate LOL! He told me that I really made him work for it but it was fun and he loved it. I told him the best part is that I think it's a gift that keeps on giving so he can do the same thing to somebody else. I have this strong feeling that somehow, that person is going to be me! Either way I'm up for the challenge and I love the fun! This definitely is the best thing to get if you're looking for a creative way to hide some money or a gift certificate. Because it is small I wouldn't even try anything else bigger than that. Or even a little cute keep safe Trinket would work in this. I think I'm going to order a blue one for next year for my husband's birthday and watch the fun unfold before my eyes!

Do you have a little one you don't see too often and when it comes to gifts, are at a loss as to what to buy? This is a perfect gift. I put some money inside and my nieces had a blast solving the puzzle to get the cash. Once it's opened, they have the cash to pick out a gift of their choice. And you haven't had to spend a ton of time trying to figure out what to buy, hoping not to replicate what they already have plus crossing your fingers you can find something they like. I actually heard back from the parents asking me where I got the puzzle boxes and telling me how much fun both girls had and were surprised at how sturdy the boxes were--especially for the price. The 6 year old had some help from dad but the 8 year old solved it on her own. I also had a 10 year old nephew who had so much fun with the puzzle box--he was totally focused (we didn't hear a word from him) and determined working on it till he opened it and thrilled to get the cash.

A perfect toy, present, surprise for everybody! I gave it to my 6 y.o. brother, he found it difficult, he was just too hyper and energetic to sit and solve it... Now he is 7, he sometimes takes it, but says he cannot solve it haha The problem is that the ball is fast, and one needs to be very careful to make it move in the right direction, not to miss the turn. I find it very amusing myself, and actually it is not an easy maze. Seriously, you have to go through 2 sides at least no matter from which point you start. And I also like the box, very nice design and messages in it)))

I bought this puzzle maze for my son’s birthday. It was a fun idea and we got a kick out of it. Much nicer than throwing cash in a card. One downfall. My son is a grown man. It took him less than two minutes to figure out the puzzle and retrieve the money. I would purchase this for a younger child. It’s a little too easy for an adult to figure it out. Otherwise, it’s well made, sturdy and works exactly how it is supposed to. I plan to purchase a second one for my granddaughter as a Christmas gift. She is twelve years old and I know that she’d enjoy this maze very much.

When I first received this puzzle box, I followed the instructions and was able to quickly unlock the box because the ball was on the same side as the lock. If you just want to slip in a folded up paper or bill, you can do that through a slot without having to solve the puzzle. I put in a gift for my husband and shook it up. He is pretty good at these things, and I would say it took him about 15 solid minutes to solve it. He found it challenging but fun. Then, he put in something for me. I spent 5 minutes before having to give up to do something else. When I tried again later, I spent about 20-25 minutes before I solved the puzzle. I was starting to get a little bit frustrated and the 3D aspect of the maze was difficult for me, but then things fell into place just before I was ready to give up. So I think the difficulty level is just about right if you are looking for something that is challenging but not impossibly tough for most people. The box is a sturdy plastic that should last for many years to come. I think it will be fun for my son to try to solve when he gets older. I'm also planning to buy another one for the White Elephant exchange that my family does for Christmas. Also, it could be used as a bank or to keep an emergency stash of cash if you want to make it a little tougher to make rash spending decisions.

We purchased two of these, with the intent of being a recurring gifting idea: we planned on having something new inside for my niece (8 years old) and nephew (6 years old) each time they visit. Both have always enjoyed puzzles and games. My nephew being an avid player of anything LEGO - he can play LEGO Star Wars/Avengers/Batman all day if his parents would allow. And while my niece tires of console gaming a lot quicker, she's always in the mood to put together a puzzle or play a board or card game. We figured this would be right up their alley. Disappointingly it wasn't. Not even close. While they were exited to open them and went wow at first. After half-heartedly working with them for only five minutes (about two minute in the case of the 6 year old) they were ready to give up. Figuring that money was inside - the coin slot on the top must have been a dead giveaway - probably wasn't much encouragement either. As, in no time, they were handing them off to their older brother and sister (13 and 15 years old) to open for them. My 15 year old niece was actually the most interested in it. I think she wished we got her one, but from reviews we assumed it would be too easy for her age. She opened it in less than a minute. As it turned out, one of puzzle boxes actually shipped with the marble already right at the finish point! And my 8 year old niece still didn't have the patience to figure it out! At least I think it was hers she opened. We made her close it right back, in hopes that seeing her sister do it would be some encouragement - she wants to do everything her sister does. No dice. She still could care less about figuring it out. Maybe on a raining day, when the power is out and there's nothing on tv, they'll be more inclined. Sadly it wasn't a highlight of their visit. They seemed to regard it almost as a punishment. The box is made of fragile hard plastic, like a cd jewel case. So, it probably won't hold up very long in the hands of younger children used to just dropped their toys anywhere on the floor once their done with it. As others have noted, older kids, less interested in the puzzle than getting to whatever is inside, may be prone to just pry the cap off, thinking that's the more ingenious route to take. There are at least a couple different versions of puzzle box being sold on amazon. The puzzles themselves looked identical from what we could tell from customer pictures. We went with this one, because we liked the design of the brown box it came in better. A few things we would change: 1) Make sure ALL puzzle boxes ship with the marble near the actual start, rather than the finish. I know it'll likely move around some in shipping, but what are the odds of it actually finding it's way all the way to the end like the one we received? 2) Eliminate the utterly unnecessary coin slot. This would add an element of mystery regarding what's inside, which would be advantageous to all ages. 3) Ship the puzzle box with the cap off, so the recipient doesn't have to actually complete the maze themselves in the event they want to put something other than money inside. This item would be great for putting vending machine size toys inside, LEGO minifigures, candy, etc. Most younger kids could care less about getting more paper or metal currency they'll just stick back in yet another slot in their own piggy bank, to save for when they're older.

I was completely stumped for ideas for this year's white elephant exchange running across this was a life saver. Everyone likes getting cash but showing up to a party game with just that? Doesn't look so good. This was a super simple way to make giving money fun while still showing some effort in doing so. The ball came in place to easily open the latch and deposit the money. Note! The cavity is pretty small. Gift cards will not fit but money folded small will. Rolled money also wont work as it will be too long you have to fold it in half a second time. I spent probably 10 mins maneuvering the ball away from the latch, this wouldn't be very fun if they open it in 2 minutes. I tried making it back myself to see how difficult - knowing how i moved it made get it back after about 15 mins or so. I look forward to watching the winner of this fine puzzle box struggle to get their loot!

Cool gift idea for any older kid who loves mazes! My 10-yr old daughter loved it and solved the maze 21+ times on xmas day. The toy is exactly as advertised and pictured, with a small compartment inside that can be filled with money, small toy or even candy. A creatively, unique way to gift cash, rather than in a card. This maze reminds me of a mini Perplexus toy, and there is only one path to solve the maze. The little marble needs to be on the right side in order to unlock the latch to the compartment door. Once my daughter figured out the path, she was able to open it in less than a minute. It takes a while at 1st to figure it out, but pretty cool once the maze is solved. She is now using this maze as a "safe" to store highly prized items LOL. Product was packaged well, shipped quickly by vendor, and customer service was stellar. Highly recommend for older kids (ages 6 and up). Overall great value & will definitely re-purchase again for neat gift idea in the future.
