  • Perfect for Puzzle Enjoyers
I received another iDventure cluebox (Captain Nemo's Nautilus) for my birthday and was immediately hooked. The box itself isn't too large and fits comfortably in your hands. The functionality of all parts is great and is sturdy overall. You're told not to force anything and you should definitely follow those instructions no matter how difficult it might seem to remove or place a piece. Solving the cluebox took me within the time frame that was listed (60-90 minutes). The difficulty wasn't too bad once you figure out the symbols and other clues on the box directing you to the next portion. I believe I'll probably be getting more of these down the road as they are fun and great value for the money spent on them. The fact that they are reusable is also a huge plus! ... show more

  • My kid loves it :)
My 15 yr old son loves escape rooms and I thought he'd like this. He had it solved in about 1.5 hours and went and reassembled it and disassembled it again and again to see how fast he could do it. He hasn't played with it much after that. But it could easily be a part of a game night or parties. I think it was a good purchase. I may get him a more elaborate one later on. ... show more

  • Husband loved it
The iDventure Cluebox is a clever and compact escape room experience that fits right in your hands, and it’s been a delightful surprise! I picked out a couple different versions - this one is a fantastic blend of craftsmanship and brain-teasing fun. Made from laser-cut birch wood, the box feels solid and looks great, with a smooth finish that adds a touch of elegance to the puzzling experience. The design is intricate yet approachable, making it both a challenging game and a cool display piece once you’re done. The gameplay is where the Cluebox shines. It’s billed as a 45–60-minute adventure, and it took me just over an hour thirty minutes for my husband to crack it solo. You’re tasked with solving a series of sequential puzzles—sliding panels, turning gears, and spotting subtle clues—to unlock the hidden compartment inside. Each step builds logically on the last, and the “aha!” moments are genuinely satisfying. I loved how it mixed tactile mechanics with mental challenges, though one dexterity-based puzzle had me fumbling a bit longer than I’d like. It’s not overly complex, so it’s perfect for puzzle fans of all levels, but it still feels rewarding when you finally get it open. What sets this apart is its replayability. After solving it, you can reset the box and pass it along to friends or family—or even hide a small gift inside (it’s got a tiny compartment, about 0.6 x 1.8 x 3 inches). The only downside? Some of the tighter mechanisms could use a bit more sanding for smoother movement. Lightweight and great functionality overall. ... show more

  • Interesting idea, frustrating execution
Got this for my husband for Chriatmas. I'm writing this before he's even seen it. I took it apart myself to see how difficult it would be for him. I have smaller hands and one is weak due to recent surgery. I mention these because my smaller hands were beneficial weakness not so much woth one part. There was a piece missing (found out a straw was supposed to be included for the last part of the puzzle). I made a straw that would fit in the place of the missing piece. I put a message in the box at the end. The last part was odd and, as others have stated, a slight let down. The message I put in the box will make up for it. You could put some money in there I suppose if folded a bit. One part was frustrating to put back together. I took a picture of how it should look (after I got it done, finally) to put one piece back in (or to take out if my husband gets frustrated) to avoid the 20 min frustration I had (towers needing to meet via lines and a sword being puut in/out). The pieces do move, however they aren't like a well oiled machine. There's some friction and at some points a little bit of movement is what's needed when you expect more (FYI: This is for the candle point). Overall, now that I've done it once I can help my husband out better than any "hints" given by the code thing (4). My suggestion: If it's for a gift, do it yourself (if you're personally janding it to them) so you can help the other person. You can feel/see how it works. If the straw is missing blow into one of the holes to unlock it or make your own straw and stick it in the space (you can't miss it) where ut was supposed to go. I'm over 50 and have patience. Someone who doesn't have patience will either soon learn to or throw the thing. Good luck amd have fun. ... show more

  • Puzzle box
Bought this puzzle box for my adult son for Christmas. He works with wood so I thought he would appreciate the craftsmanship, and the theme fits his gaming aesthetic. Looks well made and very intricate. Son thought it was cool, but too hard to attempt right away. Looks good on his shelf.
