This high quality, gorgeous gift is a steal for the price. My bronze version arrived today and I was quite surprised by the heft. The weight is probably in the product description details but I had no idea. It's also huge. I wanted to surprise a 21 year old at his surprise party with something fun. It's perfect and an unusual keepsake. Money will be inside instead of the rings. The engraved rings are sweet but I won't include them inside the gift. I am in love with this product. It is as good as I hoped, and better than expected. It's a quality gift that comes in a beautiful box and requires no effort unless you want to add an extra special touch. I was looking for a unique gift and came across this. There was a great video that explains how it looks and feels, and how to reset the lock code if desired. The standard code to open the capsule is, "I love u" but with no spaces. If you desire to personalize the code, simple instructions, and a screwdriver are provided (you can also just watch the video on the main product page ). They have included a small tube of superglue and two extra screws! There are three color/finish options which can provide additional personalization because this is such a unique and cool looking gift that it makes a great knickknack. When the puzzle is opened, a "tube" is revealed that contains a small piece of foam sporting two rings, one silver finish one gold. To me, that's just a suggestion as to what you can put inside. Included in the gift box are two chains that you can put around a ring or something small, so that if the tube is opened and engagement ring were inside, for example, it could be easily found if it fell. This makes more sense when you receive the product. The product will arrive in a cardboard box so be careful if using a knife or scissors when opening so as not to damage the giftbox inside. The gift box is metallic and textured, also a gift in itself. It can be wrapped or presented as is. Inside the box you will find a cream-colored, blank card made of heavy card stock with a matching metallic butterfly and generic message on the front. My only complaint about this product is that the text contains a typo. However, the card was a bonus because I didn't realize it was included. The catd comes in clear plastic packaging, which can be resealed. This comes in extra handy if you want to include a clue/clues to figure out the code. I cut six small pieces of paper, wrote letters on them to unscramble and sesled them in the card package. Once the tube is opened, you have countless options for what to put inside, as long as it's small. I have used money, a check and even created a scroll. Every time it's been a hit. I am so happy with this product. I will definitely purchase again and again in the future.

I really like this cryptex. I was pleasantly surprised by the heft and durability. This is not a flimsy piece that could be easily broken into (at least that is the initial appearance). The mechanism works reasonably well, and is well enough made that it is not easily cracked by the usual means (tension and turning rings till you feel the click). I did not expect this to be a high security vault, but I was pleasantly surprised that it is (could be) more secure than I expected. As described, changing the code is easy, and all tools are provided, and the presentation box is nice. I do have a few complaints, though. First, the letter rings are free-floating, which means that as you turn one, it is easy to also turn the ones next to it. This can make it frustrating to get everything lined-up to be able to open it. This could make it nearly impossible for someone with low dexterity or a disability. Making the rings snap into position wouldn't have been that hard, although it would add a little more cost. Second, It is not what I would call "fine-tuned". The operation is rough at times. The pieces appear to be castings, which is good, but castings need to be finished, which was done just enough to make it functional, but you can see the lines where the parts of the mold came together, and they are a little rough, sometimes rough enough to make parts stick a little. Maybe my expectations are higher than most as I do little metalworking, so I know how easily it could have been made better. Maybe the rings were left free to spin and it was left intentionally rough to make it seem like it is an older, cruder piece, but craftspeople of such a piece throughout history would typically have paid attention to these details. Simpler and cruder doesn't always mean older, in fact it usually means that it is more modern and done to cut costs. Third, it turns out that there is a really easy way to get in without knowing the code: just unscrew one end cap and take out a couple screws that are revealed. Mine came off by accident, but when I tried to tighten it back on, it easily stripped the threads instead of tightening, but that is easily fixed with some superglue, which should have been applied during assembly.

The Cryptex Da Vinci Code Lock Puzzle Box is a delightful surprise for puzzle lovers and fans of the Da Vinci Code alike. This cleverly designed box will put your problem-solving skills to the test as you try to figure out the combination to unlock the secret compartment, and that in itself lends mystique to the giftability of the item. I let my fiancé wrack her brain, trying to guess the code while dropping red herrings each day to encourage her to interact with it throughout the week prior to our anniversary with a promise of revealing the code on the day of if she hadn't solved it yet. It made for a fantastic and romantic reveal after a night out. The build quality is top-notch, with a solid construction that feels weighty and well-made in your hands (not like those flimsy puzzle boxes that feel like they'll fall apart if you look at them wrong). But the real highlight of these boxes is the two high quality rings that are hidden inside. They are a fantastic bonus and a wonderful surprise that elevates these puzzle boxes to a whole new level. The attention to detail is impressive, with intricate designs and a nice weight to the rings that make them feel special and unique. It's like finding a treasure within a treasure (and who doesn't love that?) Very happy with this! My son is going to a buddy's escape room birthday party. This seemed a perfect in-theme gift. We had to try it out to change the code from "ILOVEU" to "HPYBDY." Also we pulled the rings out of the core of the cylindar on their foam display. The rings are gold tone (size 9.5) and silver tone (size 7). They each have the Lord of the Rings Elvish script etched inside and out, "[yadda yadda] ....One ring to rule them all..." They're very pretty. If those aren't your sizes, there are two black leather like woven thongs with lobster claw clasps so you can each wear them around your neck. The puzzle cylinder came in a subtlety floral embossed looking box that looks like a brown patinaed copper. It makes a great presentation. The box has a faint perfumed smell, but it's not on the puzzle cylinder. And there is a simple gift card with a butterfly charm on it. (It's a little romantic, so we pulled it out. There are also two extra screws and a mini-screw driver. The gift box is inside another box, and Amazon shipped this one in a paper envelope. (The first one I ordered never arrived because the plastic envelope Amazon packaged it into was left wide open when the heat seal did not take. Of course the puzzle cylinder fell out of the packaging.) We're very excited to give this gift!

This Mini Cryptex is absolutely fantastic! I was looking for a unique way to add some intrigue to my Dungeons & Dragons game, and this little puzzle box has been a huge hit. The craftsmanship is surprisingly good for the price – it feels solid and well-made, not flimsy at all. The mechanism works smoothly, and setting the combination was easy. I love the aesthetic; it looks like something that could genuinely hold a vital clue or a precious treasure. In my campaign, I used it to hold a key to an ancient tomb, and my players were completely captivated trying to figure out the combination. It added a real element of suspense and excitement to the session. It's small enough to be easily portable, but large enough to hold a few small items, like a rolled-up scroll, a key, or even a few coins.
