This is a sturdy, attractive, well-designed bench. I very recently bought this one, but turns out it is exactly the same as one I purchased maybe 5-7 years ago. That one has held up great, outside all year in South Dakota weather extremes, with no protective treatment to the wood. In my experience, these things usually come with some damage and may be a pain to assemble. This one went together easily, only 4 or 5 parts, no damage.     • Beware of styrofoam beads and the mess they make.
Note this product arrived in a box that included styrofoam which had partially disintegrated during shipping so opening it got little electrostatic foam beads all over the place. I wish there were other shipping materials that could be used. Styrofoam is also difficult to dispose of. Assembly is not complicated but the instructions could be much better to ensure that the seat bottom is labeled front and back and that the front bar has the slat upright because that is not obvious. It took some rasp work and adjusting to get it all together but it seems solid when completed. ... show more

We are using our bench inside our home. Wylie, Moose and Winston thought that they should have a bench of their own. I put a couple of pillows against the back of the bench for their added comfort. Assembly was fairly simple, but might take two people, and a rubber hammer. Taking a star off, because one of members had a small crack, and the packaging was not great.

The bench is great. We were missing one bolt/screw. We substituted with one of our own. Before the next season we will wipe it down with a little teak oil. Found a great bench cushion also on Amazon

It takes two people to assemble it says. Or one Tony using a cargo strap to hold things together. Pictures are before and after teak oil.
