  • Decent firepit
Overall nice firepit. Easier to assemble with two people to attach nuts/bolts. No drainage holes if rain gets in. Had to drill holes. Outside ring consists of four pieces that attach to each other and to the firepit itself. Where the four ring pieces attach to each other, one screw holds them. It's a weak attachment and moves around at each point making the ring unsteady. The firepit itself is large enough for a large fire. Baffles in the bottom make it a little difficult to clean out ashes. Ended up tipping it sidewards to dump ashes out. Blower got out the rest. (Hold your breath 😄) ... show more

  • Easy to put together
Don’t know why people say this item is thin and Bradley constructed and that putting together was a pain. I can say completely the opposite. Strongly constructed, a breeze to put together, and holds a burning fire for hours without any warping or damage whatsoever. Recommend getting the cover to keep the rain off when Not in use to protect against rusting but to be honest my fire pit still has what ever protection it had when I first got it. Sturdy and durable ... show more

  • It's BIG
yeah - should have gotten this YEARS ago. It holds a lot and is very portable. I read other reviews and have been careful not to leave it in the rain. Since winter is over I've stored it covered. It is very nice and throws off good heat and the cut outs look great when it gets dark. They do need to work on the packaging for shipping. This one did show up with a dent in it. Seller took care of the issue to my satisfaction, but, this seems to be an issue for them. Overall for the price this meet all the needs. MUCH better than the 'pit in the ground' I had been using in the back of my property. Burned more fires in the first season of use on this than in four years prior with the old school one. ... show more

  • BEAUTIFUL FIRE PIT!
I loved the product! It is a well made fire pit that is attractive to the eye and does the job well. It was simple to assemble and just fits an outdoor space beautifully with its clean simple lines. It’s well worth the money. Unfortunately ours had a hole or a tear in it and it was not noticed until we actually used the pit. (See pic ). The sellers stood behind the product and allowed us to return it and get a refund. I would definitely do business with this seller again and recommend them to others. They were stellar!! ... show more

  • Big Firepit at a Hefty Price; Bottom Rusts Out Fast
The item’s online images match with the item I received. The stated specifications also are accurate. Assembly: The box is necessarily large, to accommodate the bowl, and it’s somewhat heavy, more than 30 pounds. It’s a manageable one-man lift, but would be easier with two. It would be smart to assemble the item where it’s going to be situated, but you can carry it to the location relatively easily, one person or two. Assembly is totally intuitive. I had the item assembled in about 15 minutes. None of it is difficult, just a bit tedious with small screws and nuts. Tools are not included; you’ll need a medium size Philips screwdriver and a small wrench or pliers; a ratchet works well. All of the hardware is the same size, so there is no having to figure out which bolt, screw, nut, washer to use where; all you get is screws and nuts. Previous firepits I’ve purchased, including a prior model from Sunnydaze, came with a BBQ-like grill on the bottom, which aided burning and protected the bottom of the firepit. This item does not come with one. There are four metal ridges to give a small amount of distance between the fire/coals and the bottom, and there is a single drilled hole in the center of the bottom, likely for drainage, not for airflow. The online product copy says “
thick steel construction
” No, not really. Think more like 1/16”, tops. I always drill a couple of holes in the bottom of the firepit to aid in drainage if any water gets in, and to help with oxygen supply for the fire. A cover is always a good idea for your firepit, especially this one--see below. The outside ring serves as a handle, so two people can easily move it, although don't try to move it at all when you've got fire going. This also serves as a basic sort of safety ring, although when the fire is going this ring gets more than hot enough to burn you. A better design would be to make this ring on the same plane as the edge of the firepit and provide a simple lattice structure with it so you can set things on it, like a campfire pot to heat coffee, water, cider, etc. Documentation: You get a one-page “Assembly and Instruction Sheet.” The assembly instructions are good and easy to follow, but really aren’t needed. You gets lots of warnings, my favorite being that you have to use this item outdoors. There is no contact information whatsoever for Sunnydaze. The packing slip on the outside of the box was from Serenity Health & DĂ©cor of Bethlehem, PA, complete with a shipping department address, but that’s it for customer contact info. Hopefully you won't have a problem that required contacting Sunnydaze. Online product copy says there’s a one-year warranty on the item, but if you can’t contact Sunnydaze, how are you going to make this work? Rust. I have a cover, which I always have on this item if it's not in use. I advise to get one. But, these firepits--I'm on my fourth Sunnydaze firepit and the third one of this particularl model, rust out surprisingly quickly. I mean, if you use this thing relatively often for just a year, that's maybe 3 times per month, the bottom of this is going to be gone within that year. I say that because that's exactly my experience with these things. I buy them for the size and design, which I like, but I do not like the way they rust so quickly. I'm trying fireproof paint, and may go to a third-party metal mesh for the bottom to try to squeeze another year out of this thing, as the sides and feet seem to weather relatively well. Price: This item is currently coming in at $239; that's $20 more than just a couple of years ago. This is a big firepit, sure, but it just doesn’t seem to be worth this price. I’m just not seeing design, materials, and packaging adding up to the price of this item. But then again, I bought it, as I like a big firepit, and this was available here. You decide. And, there is the bottom rust problem, as I described. Bottom Line: This is a big firepit, easy to assemble and get into action quickly. It’ll hold a big fire, and comes with a nice spark arrestor, if you’d like to use it. It’s a large item, and it seems to me to be somewhat overpriced. ... show more
