I purchased this as a replacement for a similar swing that finally succumbed to the sun, wind and salt air here on the Florida Gulf coast after 6 years. The main frame and general design of the new one is identical to the other I had but there are some disappointing differences. The seat frame is sturdy enough but the vinyl webbing is pretty thin and I believe it will not hold up well in the long run. I expected the canopy and seat cushion material to be something similar to Sunbrella but it is no where close to that quality. The canopy frame is also a down grade as it only has support frames on each end and no support along the front and rear sides. Also there are no cams or gears to lock the canopy from tilting and twisting in the wind. I had the canopy knobs as tight has I could get them by hand and the first 20 mph wind gust twisted it back like a sail. This swing is very attractive and comfortable use. The folding drink tables are a plus. If I were looking for a nice swing to be set up in a less harsh environment I would purchase it again. However after watching the other swing I had self destruct over 6 years I'm not confident this one will last that long. ... show more

The pluses: This thing is built like a tank! Much heavier duty than others I have owned. I put it together without help although a second set of hands would have made it easier. The negatives: 1) They need to improve the packaging. Numerous scratches and nuts/bolts were rolling around loose because the outer packaging tore all the way through. Needs thicker cardboard with better reinforcing in a few places. Wrap some of the thinner edges of the metal (like the top brace) with something to help keep it from coming through. I could have sent it back due to some of the scratches but decided it just wasn't worth the hassle. Also, the three back cushions are just not large enough. I'm not a big person (5'11") and thin), and the a single pillow isn't really large enough for comfortable seating. We are going to look around for an aftermarket cushion to go across the backrest which will make sitting more comfortable. The seat is so deep it will be a problem for anyone short to sit comfortably. ... show more

However, like the bad reviews say - the box it came shipped it was not sturdy enough and it came with a missing piece and another piece damaged. BUT the seller is super responsive and willing to make it right immediately. I would recommend getting a protective cover if you're going to have this swing where it can rained on. ... show more

I’m not a novice to assembling furniture and other things by following instructions, visual and verbal. Have done my share of Ikea assemblies over the years. But this one took the cake for worst assembly, both for instructions and for actually assembly. Three adults, 3 hours. 1) Instructions are a mess. Super small print, incomplete instructions. Ex: Doesn’t say anywhere that the canopy cloth needs to go thru the canopy rods, you realize only after you set up the canopy and it stands spineless. 2) Comes with exactly the number of nuts, bolts and washers. You accidentally misplace one and you’re in a pickle, like I was. Will need to go to homedepot. Even the cheapest furniture makers include 1-2 extra of each type of fastener. 3) The side frames that have the cupholders are poorly fabricated, they don’t follow the curve of the side A frame, so very difficult to fasten it to the A frame. 4) Some bolt holders just come off the side support bars, had to weld it back in. All in all, decent back-breaking work for a few hours. End product is looking good, will see about comfort and durability now. Check back in six months. ... show more

Solid beautiful design. The screws came all mixed, had to figure out what is what. The manual is missing some details. The top canopy fabric very thin does not look strong especially canopy is not holding strong enough and wind keeps flipping it forward and backward. Overall vary satisfied, just only so little missing to make it perfect. I wish could buy even extra more solid canopy. ... show more

I was so excited to get this swing, as I have wanted one for many many years. My husband, who is a tool and die maker and machinist, was able to put this together by himself, for the most part. We were disappointed to see that the screws were easily stripped; some of the parts did not come together easily; he had to add more parts. Wasn't as nice as I was hoping; fit and finish was not very good; had to drill 4 holes and add bolts/nuts to it for completion. Wouldn't purchase again. ... show more

Just put up the swing chair by our pool; looks nice, took about 1hr to build with my 11yr old. Had a few screws & washers missing (6), but we had spares luckily. The chair looks nice overall but the chair base could be a bit stronger (I don’t think this can carry up to 500lbs) and had a few snipped straps...love the side table for drinks, and the pillows have inserts so I can change pillow case with season. Giving a 4 because of missing screws & washers and cut straps and wished for a stronger base ... show more

It is a nice swing however, the carton arrived having been taped up and the hardware was incomplete. The company did, however, send a new package. Putting it together was an event in itself - the directions were basic, tho not too hard to follow. The biggest problem came when not all the holes aligned properly. I had to end up drilling new holes at the top and, as I was not able to do a very good job, there are mismatched holes on the top.
