This blanket has 5 settings and I can't go past the 2nd for sleeping because it gets hot way fast. 3 to 5 are great for using as a heating pad for pain. The blanket it's self is extremely soft. Yes these blankets are thin , but the softest things I've ever felt .we can't get over how amazing they feel and get warm or hot quickly and stay that way for long time . I can't stand heavy , rough electric blankets which all others I've had have been , but there is nothing worse on a cold night , going to bed with the blanket on but waking up in middle of the night because your freezing because the blanket Shuts off in only 1-2 hours . This blanket felt great next to my skin but it is not a blanket I would say that you would want to put on your bed (like the old kind). It slips around between the sheets and the other covers on your bed. I was constantly having to search for it. This blanket is more for that couch potato that wants a heated blanket to cozy up in while watching their favorite movie. Also, it seemed to only heat up in the middle when on the lower settings. I purchased the Full size, cream color. No bad smells fresh out of the package. The blanket is soft and easy to use but is thin. I can feel the wires more than my old heated blanket. It heats up fast and the size and color are good. I also like that there’s one cable and it doesn’t split into two. I am so glad I went with the bigger size. A throw blanket just isn’t enough for me to snuggle without my feet sticking out. I’m under 5’2”, definitely not a big person. Happy with my purchase but if you like a thick blanket with a little weight to it, this one isn’t for you. There is also about 8.5 inch border around the blanket where there aren’t any wires so it’s comfortable to tuck around my neck/shoulders. ... show more
