  • 4Keep Filament Dry During PrintingSUNLU Filament Dryer can be used as a filament spool holder (storage dehydrator), and can dry filament during printing, thereby improving print quality. This feature is especially important for those who have their 3D printers in humid locations such as basements.
  • 5Revive Damp 3D printer FilamentMoisture can be a real problem for 3D printer filament, especially if it has been stored for a while. SUNLU Filament Dryer is specifically designed to remove excess moisture and revive old filament, saving you time and money by avoiding the need to replace damp filament.
  • 6Fast Heating and Even DryingSUNLU filament dryer heats up quickly to the preset temperature, while the built-in spindle ensures that the filament spins continuously for even drying. Additionally, users can customize the drying time (0-99 hours) and temperature (35-70 C) to suit their specific needs.
  • 7Very Simple yet Very EffectiveThe SUNLU filament dryer is user-friendly and straightforward. Equipped with a large touch screen, users can easily set different dry temperatures and times for different types of filaments with just a tap. This easy-to-use feature ensures that users can quickly dry their filaments and achieve superior printing results.
  • 8High Compatibility and CapacityThe SUNLU filament dryer S2 is highly versatile, with a large capacity of 265x274x118mm, making it compatible with filaments of 1.75mm, 2.85mm, and 3.00mm. • Unobtrusive, effective dryer
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
The dryer does what it is supposed to do: warm a spool of 3D printer filament at a set temperature to dry it out. The display panel makes it easy to set the temperature and timer, once you figure out the slightly obtuse interface. During heating, the outside of the dryer gets warm but not hot and the sound of the fan is below normal conversation level. The only real quibble I have is that the small footprint of the four legs makes the dryer a little more "tippy" than I would like. ... show more

  • Great filament dryer.
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
Works fantastically for drying filament. Just be careful if you put a printed spool in there. If its PLA or PETG it can melt.

  • I bought it, so this is an unbiased review!
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
The good. The things gets up to temps fairly fast. Menu is straight forward. Now the not so good. Straight plug for the side power adaptor? Angled plug would have been way smarter. Flimsy top lid, no gasket, not actually sealed to store dried filament. 2 holes in the top lid with the littlest of PTFE in them. I printed a pair of adaptors in ASA for the front and rear holes for the PTFE tubing. And installed a pair of M10 fittings for the PTFE setups. Because this drier is being used on a Bambu Labs X1C and an Ender3 Neo Max with a direct drive setup. Had to make a mount for the X1C to keep the drier out of the way of the chute, and keep a direct line to the splitter on the rear of the enclosure. This all worked out nicely! And it does print as nicely as with the AMS units. The Neo Max setup is a work in progress. The mount for the gantry is the issue here. Has to be on a bit of an angle, and has to be offset so the filament feeds straight down to avoid the LED lighting, and straight to the direct drive. So no actual printing from the drier on the Neo Max as yet. All in all, this is a nice drier. Just leaves a little to be desired. The straight power connector was not a great idea. And the lack of ability to store filament in this drier over any length of time is another down side. That is why only 4 stars! ... show more

  • Get it. Totally worth it.
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
Easy to use, nice big touchscreen display and it does what its designed to do. Inhaler a very badly hydrated PLA spool that was printing shredded wheat level prints and after o e drying cycle, it vastly improved the issue. After a second drying cycle, the issue was gone. It also allowed me to remove the old spool rack and print directly from the container which has bearing rollers and is much much smoother. ... show more

  • dries filament well and has enough options for different types
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
This works great for drying different types of filament. I've used it on PLA, TPU, and Nylon with good results. I like that I can adjust the temperature and time even beyond the preconfigured settings. It is a tiny bit noisy when running but no more than other dryers that I've used. One thing I wish it did have was a way to seal better when not running so the filament in it would stay dry longer. There's no where to have desiccant packs in it to keep the filament dry either. That would be a big help for longer term use. For now, I just turn it on every time I need to print something to ensure the filament is as dry as possible. I've also used it to dry filament that I then put in desiccant filled storage bags for long-term storage. ... show more

  • When filament is low it tends to get stuck
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
I wish I could give this five stars but it has one terrible trait that I cannot see past and have been unable to find a solution for. The item works amazing. It keeps the temperature well, has many options, quiet, easy to use. An item I would like to recommend to others but just can’t. It’s one major flaw is that when filament rolls get low (about 20% left) the roll will get stuck in the dryer, catch, and then ruin prints. I kept thinking it was the filament until I realized it was in fact the dryer doing it. This forces me to manually unwind the filament and check on it every 20 minutes to make sure it hasn’t gotten stuck. I have tried several different brands of filament to include Overture, Sunlu and Prusa and all have caught. If I was still within the time range I would return this item but unfortunately I figured it out too late. ... show more

  • Keep looking - too many problems.
Color: Upgraded S2 Black
I bought this with high expectations based on the reviews but based on my experience after having owned this filament dryer for 2 weeks, I should have read the reviews a little closer. I'm using this for both a printer with a Bowden tube and one that is direct drive and this dryer doesn't really work for either. The first thing I noticed which is a major design flaw is that there is no vent or fan on this enclosure to remove the humidified air after the filament has been heated. The best you can do is look for an STL on printables or thingiverse (there are many since this is kind of a huge oversight) for a wedge to insert in the opening to vent the humidified air out. Secondly, there are two PTFE lined holes for filament to exit the enclosure but they are both positioned in a manner that is poorly adapted to allow the filament to flow out of the enclosure easily. No matter how you place the spool or the dryer itself, the filament binds and causes the whole machine to be pulled towards the printer which will interfere with your printer's mechanics while it is actively printing. The rollers at the bottom of the enclosure to allow the filament spool to spin freely are not adequate enough for this device to work reliably while you are printing. At best, this machine is good for drying a roll while not in use prior to storage in a ziplock bag. And again, there are many 3d printable solutions available on thingiverse and printables to address this problem, but for a $70 plastic box with a heating element and a PID, this should not be the case. What I do like about this dryer is the large display with touch screen which is easy to read and navigate for changing settings. The timer also can be extended for long periods of time so no matter how long your print lasts, the dryer will be active. Aesthetically it's pleasing and the LED lights can be turned off so that it won't be bothersome if you have it in a location that that would matter. Unfortunately the major functionality is flawed and requires you to 3d print a solution to make it work properly and that, to me, is unacceptable for a dryer box that costs this much when there are well made solutions that are significantly cheaper. If you are considering buying this dryer, the convenience features of the nice touch screen display do not outweigh the inability for this device to dispense filament on the fly while printing. Look for a different dryer and save yourself some cash. I'll likely return this if they accept it back without a box. Highly disappointed - Sunlu usually does better than this tl;dr Pros: easy to read and navigate display, can set it to remain on for many hours and will not turn off mid print Cons: Poorly designed - no vent or fan to remove humid air from the enclosure while running. Filament will not dispense smoothly from the enclosure due to poor outlet locations in the lid which cause the filament to bind and your extruder will drag the dryer into the printer itself causing major problems and possibly break your 3d printer. There are 3d printed solutions available but you shouldn't have to do that for a $70 dryer. Avoid this product. ... show more
