This is a major project to do your self. I eventually had four other people besides myself to construct this. It comes on a long narrow pallet and weighs over 650 pounds. The truck driver rolled the pallet on a jack to behind the security fence--thank God! We started by assembling the wooden posts and upper frame (also wood). I let go of my post to help someone else and the thing fell down. It broke 4 boards. I called Amazon to get replacements but all they could offer was to return it and give a refund, since there were no more in stock. I decided to mill the replacement boards myself. I bought 3 clear cedar 1"X6"X8' boards at Home Depot at an additional cost of $78. I brought them home and sawed the joints and new mounting holes. So, we were behind one day. (Note: China must have true 1" lumber, which we do not, so I had to adjust the joints to fit smoothly.) The rest of the build went without issue. We worked about 4 hours a day (since were all over retirement age). We completed the project in four days. Lots of screws and bolts!!! I would advise using power tools. After it was finished we had winds in our area 30-40 mph with gusts around 50 mph. We watched it very carefully, since we did not yet have it anchored to the patio. It survived well. However, the wind did raise the metal panels at the joints just slightly. And I would recommend using screws at the top of the first section of metal panels. They give you plastic plugs to join the panels together, but they are not strong enough for wind prone areas. Our patio is big (25' deep by over 50' wide), and it slopes to allow for rain runoff. You may notice that some of the holes do not line up perfectly because of the slope. We got them all in, but it took a little finesse. You also may notice that the posts have a slight lean because of that slope as well. Overall, it is a wonderful gazebo and should last several generations. ... show more

Awesome Gazebo. Highly recommend this and it arrived almost a week before it was suppose to. Assembly took about 2 days but this has added some amazing outdoor living space to our home. very well built and extremely happy with this purchase

My son and I built it in about 12-15 hours. Could have completed much quicker with another person to help but overall not bad. Leave things loose and tighten at the end of each step. Updated to 4 star since they did get back to me and are sending replacement parts.

You're going to need a crane. Huge ladder πŸͺœand extreme patience. Took my wife and I four days to complete. A lot of re-work if you don't pay attention to the small details. Great bargain, great quality overall though just wished the pieces were cut a little more precise.

I bought a Sunjoy gazebo in May 2019. Within the first year, the side covering (curtain) tore almost the entire way up. Within 15 months, the roof covering tore open, and now water comes pouring in when it rains and the patio furniture is exposed to the elements. Contacted Sunjoy immediately when I discovered this, and was essentially told, "Tough luck, your warranty is expired." If it had been even 2 years, I might have been more accepting of this, but given that there have been 2 issues with the gazebo covering within 15 months, I'm more than a little upset. Is this the type of customer service one can expect? Is this the quality of materials that the company sells? I spent more than $1000 on a structure that can't seem to stay in one piece, and if this is the type of response I get when there is a 2nd issue WITHIN 15 MONTHS, then I advise everyone to look elsewhere, lest you receive the same crappy customer service I did. UPDATE: One of the replacement pieces now has a giant hole in it too. I'm done with this company. ... show more

EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED! Incredibly engineered and executed design. This product was very planned and well executed by manufacturer. They did an excellent job with fabrication, tagging, wrapped, sorted, stacked, and boxing. Arrives in TWO (2) Cartons. FYI, if they call prior to delivery, confirm a lift gate – Bill of Lading said it was Authorized by shipper – Sometimes they try to avoid transferring to a truck with the gate. Two people can barely move, push, slide the cartons on their own. Probably the heaviest cartons I have ever tried to move without a forklift. LOL Opened cartons on floor of shop. DO NOT UNLOAD. These cartons have been packaged with the items you need first on top with following items under them. Quite convenient. Find the two containers of miscellaneous hardware and the instructions. Yes, the instructions can be initially a bit challenging, however they are clear if you read them first front to back, then study the steps using the Tagged Items from cartons shown in the top right of each page. Honestly, it is quite easy as there are not many unique parts. Does include a few disposable tools but never used. TOOLS USED: Ladders, hand truck, Phillips Screwdriver, 3/8th Drive Socket set (SAE however paint on some parts may cause the need to use a similar Metric size to avoid scratching/stripping top of parts). Socket short extension (used a lot), levels, Tape Measures, Survey Line (String), Rechargeable Drill Yes, the posts need to be square (google the 3-4-5 rule). Do not forget Level Too! CEDAR is a SOFT WOOD! Snug the connections do not overtighten. You can always tighten more as the assembly progresses. This is a Giant Erector Set if you will. It has been engineered to have a slight bit of flexibility while you try to maintain level and square. I did have a minor issue, so loosened connections from a corner almost to the top tier, repositioned and retightened and resolved the issue. Be patient, follow the instructions and DON’T LOOSE PARTS. I did drop a nut so went to hardware store and purchased stainless steel replacement. In summary, I had no issues related to the purchasing, delivery, unpacking and assembly. The manufacturer did not make without confidence, they made it very well and in general it was quite easy to assemble on my own (58 yrs., Male & fluffy). Just takes time and/or help from others to speed things up. Do not believe other posts. Except possibly a part/warranty issue which I did not experience (thank goodness). I Very Highly Recommend this gazebo. The finished Gazebo is beautiful and exactly what we expected. Good luck everyone, its fun when your done πŸ˜‰ ... show more
