Needed identical replacement bulbs. Using the 3000 Kelvin and 800 lumens (75 w equivalent) measurement of our existing bulbs as reference; these are 850 lumens, but MATCHED EXISTING BULB APPEARANCE PERFECTLY. It may be because of this bulb’s slightly matte/frosted light bulb surface. We prefer this 75w equivalent (over the previous 60w) in our kitchen ceiling for extra brightness; and even though 3000K is considered just to the “warm” side of neutral; it appears very appropriate for my home kitchen. I do have wood cabinetry. These put off minimal “heat.” I cannot speak to longevity. I cannot speak to the longevity; but have found most brands of similar types bulbs last only 2-3 years. I purchased these to replace 8 watt LED bulbs that were 7 years old. Over time, the bulbs were getting dimmer and dimmer with a yellow/brown cast. This resulted in it being too dark in my kitchen. Purchased these bulbs to replace five bulbs in the ceiling. These bulbs are dazzling bright--huge improvement. I do notice a very white/blue light. If I didn't have the dimmer, the bulbs would be too bright. After a few days, I don't notice the blue cast as much. Overall, very pleased with the enhancement. As long as you have a dimmer, you should be ok. Not all LED bulbs can work with a dimmer. These work fine. ... show more

    • Solid but not perfect

Had 4 them in my kitchen for about 6 years. They were fine, a little brighter than I anticipated but I adjusted quickly and was happy with them. The first of the 4 installed lasted just over 3 years, at about ~2hr/s day or so use. The 2nd failure made it to 6yrs. Prior to failure, they both exhibited some periodic flickering. Also, they did produce some interference with my cable. There's an RG6/coax run that's about ~3ft from the lights in the attic, at some point the lights started interfering with certain cable channels. It seemed to be when the light was nearing failure, and it was resolved when I replaced the light that eventually failed. I should note that my lights don't match the current product description, I've got the older 17 watt non-dimmable 4000k version. I came back to write a review today after the 2nd light failed, mostly because I wanted to look up my order history to see how old they lasted out of curiosity. When the next one fails, I'd consider these again but might go with color changing/dimmable ones instead. ... show more

These are a good bit brighter than the 65W incandescents they replaced, but those were 20 years old and may have dimmed. Color is a crisp white, consistent with other 5000K bulbs in the room.
