In my 15x25' basement with 7' ceilings, I used 12 of the 3" lights. Spacing: I distanced them between 35-45" from the walls and 50-60" apart from each other in the middle of the room. I live in a 1940's home. Not much light was needed in those days, I suppose. I put four in the living room and two in the hallway. They are fantastic because you can install them wherever you want, regardless of how the house is framed. Now my wife wants me to put four in each bedroom, some in the kitchen, and the bathroom. We've been using them for about three years now without issues. Even leaving them on all night as a night light(on a dimmer). Only thing I recommend is paying attention to which dimmer you're using. Not just sunco, but many brands of lights suggest using their product with select dimmers. I will use these lights on any install. ... show more

They say to cut a 3 inch hole, but connection box won't fit through a 3" hole even without wires attached. So cut hole in drywall a little larger or use a rasp to widen hole so box with wires will fit through hole into ceiling and then install the light. All lights worked, but one is missing one of the spring clips that hole it in the hole, thus why we installed 47 instead of 48. Really like their size and give off plenty of light, where simply set desired color on the switch. I would clearly buy again. Just beware you need a hole a bit larger than 3 inches. ... show more

These lights are very resonably priced, and look good. The installation was simple. The only comment would be, they are little flimsy. But once installed one can't tell. They are bright producing even room lighting.

Easy to install with multiple options, foam gasket to seal to the ceiling, pigtails and wire nuts are good quality, and most importantly, the color temp matches other types of bulbs of the same temp. I'd ordered another brand previously only to find the wire retainers for retrofitting existing can lights were not included.
