  • Good basic iron for the casual ironer!
Size: Regular Style: Classic 1200 Watt
This does everything I need an iron to do at a good price. It stays hot. It's smooth. If I need more steam, the burst of steam works great. It's very lightweight and easy to use. There's no cord storage that I can find, but this is a minor inconvenience for me. People who iron a lot may want a bigger water tank or other features. But if you're like me and don't iron a lot of things at one time, this does the trick. ... show more

  • One Word-Perfect (for me)
Size: Regular Style: Classic 1200 Watt
Believe it or not, the cord “can” wrap around the bottom of the iron. There is a little space and if you are slow and align the cord around, it is out of the way. Now, there is no way to keep it there, but, I found a way that works for me. I used a hair rubberband and put it over the plug and just twist it once and pulled the other end over the top end of the iron (the point). It is perfect now. The cord doesn’t fly everywhere. Oh, the iron—great purchase, light weight, functions well. If it is good for an hotel chain… it’s good enough! I do not iron a lot. It also can be used as a quick steamer. I always thought an iron had to be heavy to be good…and, this has convinced me otherwise. ... show more

  • Great Iron. Heats up quickly!
Size: One Size Style: Classic Steam Iron
This iron works great! it heats up fast, and the different steam functions seem to work great! my only complaint is that where the cord leaves the body of the iron is rather stiff, and could be more pliable. Otherwise, it's a great iron

  • Best, most reliable
Size: Regular Style: Classic 1200 Watt
My mother had this iron for about 15 or more years and when she died it came to me and I used it for about ten years and then I bumped the ironing board and it fell on the hard tile floor and the little coiled piece on the wire where it joins the back of the iron broke and the bottom kind of separated from the top but, it still worked. I used it for another 8 months then an ad came on the computer for one so like it and so reasonably priced I couldn't resist so now I have a brand new one all white , so pretty and even better than the old one. The water reservoir is clear where the other was a blue greenish so the water shows better and the handle glows red; I can see it from anywhere, the cord's white, the bottom is silver and the heat adjustment is easier to move. I saved the old one for sentimental reasons and because a lot of time new things are not made as well as old things were but, all in all I couldn't be happier with this replacement of a trusted old friend. ... show more

  • Great tool for a new seamstress
Size: Regular Style: Classic 1200 Watt
I'm just learning to sew again (after decades off not touching a sewing machine) and this iron has been a wonderful tool. It heats up super fast and has excellent steam. I'm mostly pressing quilting-weight cotton so a slightly heavier iron would probably tackle stubborn creases easier but for my purposes having a light weight iron is worth a couple of extra passes. And less than $20 is hard to beat. My previous iron was a mid-range Rowenta that finally died after 20+ years of use. I didn't want to spent $100+ on a new iron until I'm sure I'll keep sewing even after making all these masks so this was a great option. The fact it shuts off after 30 minutes doesn't bother me because it reheats so quickly. And it is kind of nice since I'm constantly wandering away from it to sew and don't keep an eye on it. It's better for me that it shuts off regularly. The long power cord is nice, too. ... show more

  • Great little iron
Size: Regular Style: Classic 1200 Watt
After having a pricey, high end iron stop working after a few months, I decided I was going the inexpensive route. This iron is just as good and even better than the expensive iron. Heats really well (gets hot so be careful; I scorched some fabric because I was used to an iron that would not get hot enough and kept cutting off after a few minutes). The other iron was cordless which I found not to be a good thing. I didn’t want all the bells and whistles after fighting to keep that cordless iron hot. This iron is light weight, quickly heats up and stays hot for 30 minutes. I’m not fond of the auto cutoff, but all irons come with that feature. The price is right too. It will be interesting to see how long this iron lasts. I love it so far; can’t go wrong with this one! ... show more

  • Iron works as expected
Size: One Size Style: Classic Steam Iron
This works as expected. It's lighter than my other iron, which is nice. Easy to use and instructions have information on each of the components.

  • Not even 4 months later, and it no longer heats up at all.
Size: Regular Style: Classic 1200 Watt
This iron was no where near the iron my previous Sunbeam was, but it was cheap, so I bought it. I figured, for pressing quilt fabric, an iron is an iron; right? Maybe not... First of all, it's lightweight, and maybe it's just that I wasn't used to that, but it felt like there was not the same "pressing" quality. Then, the reservoir for the water was so small that I was filling it probably 4 times as often as its predecessor. The plastic controls felt cheap and didn't slide nicely. Also, with my previous iron, if you left it on and standing upright, it eventually "timed out" and turned off, at least until you made it horizontal for a moment, and then it would turn back on. (Perhaps that was not considered safe--I never left it unattended and turned on, because I didn't want the dog to bump the ironing board and start a house-fire.) This new iron also timed out, but the only way to turn it back on again was to unplug it and plug it back in again. Probably safer, but I found it to be a pain. Anyway, the final straw was today when I plugged it in, and 5 minutes later it was still stone cold, even though the little red light was on as though it was heating. I've had this iron not even 4 months. No more Sunbeams for me. ... show more
