Love this camera! Bought it without being sure that the PTZ features would work with an older NVR from 2015 (ION-NVR-8), an NVR that doesn't list if and or what version of ONVIF that it supports. Turns out the PTZ controls on the NVR work with no problem for this camera. The web interfaces for the ION NVR and this camera are very similar, so much that it seems the ION NVR and this camera are re-labled products from the same manufacturer. Hard to know since many IP cameras and NVR's these days are from China. Anyway, it is totally compatible with my ION NVR and every feature on the camera can be controlled via the NVR's web interface. Documentation from the Sunba is good enough, although it seems a little disjointed as an add-hoc collection of information, but it's good enough if you are already a little familiar with IP cameras. Customer support is very good. I emailed with a couple of questions and received prompt and helpful replies. The image quality of the camera is very good, and the 20x zoom extremely powerful, much more than is really needed for a back-yard setup. The night-time illumination via infared LED's is excellent. There are two ranges for the LED's that are automatically controlled, a short range and an extended range that turn on when the lens is zoomed about half way. Didn't have any problems at all getting this configured and working with a POE+ injector over about 120 feet of cat5e. The camera is described as 'mini' but is fairly bulky and heavy compared to IP bullet type cameras. Sunba does offer a pendant type mount but it's expensive and takes a long time to get it so I bought some metal pieces at Home Depot and fabricated my own mount. There are a hand-full of connectors that come out of the camera including the CAT5 POE+ connector and some others. If you are powering it via POE+ and not using a microphone, then you won't need the other connectors. I mounted a small water-proof box next to the camera to keep the unused connectors out of the weather. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this 30x 4K PTZ camera in 2025 to replace a similar (non-Sunba) 30x 4K PTZ camera I purchased in 2021, which replaced a failed 20x 1080HD Sunba purchased in 2016, which replaced a 12x 1080HD D-Link PTZ... While it's possible that the one I was shipped was simply a defective outlier, the resulting experience with their support was unfortunate. The camera I received made a digital sort of static noise as soon as it was powered on, and went on to get louder once it warmed up. This was not the sound of the motors, or anything along those lines. The sound is very high-pitched, kind of like an old CRT TV, or tinnitus. If it were mounted outdoors, it probably wouldn't have been noticeable over the ambient, but as it was looking out through a window in the master bedroom, it became quite an annoyance. Separately from that issue (or possibly because of it), the unit also locked up constantly, mid-frame (according to the half-images left frozen on my NVR). It would recover itself in less than a minute, but the clock on the camera rapidly lost time along with this. I contacted support initially on the freezing issue, and the sum of their advice was: "Download our CMS software." As a test, I stopped connecting to the camera with my NVR, and used only their proprietary plugin to connect with a browser. The live feed also had the long freezes when using this method. Either way, if the camera doesn't comply with the ONVIF standards, I would still consider it defective. I sent them a phone video of the noise the camera makes... to which they responded that I should "download their CMS software." I tried to explain that the sound is coming out of the camera, not through the application or the NVR. There was no further response from support, so I processed the return to Amazon. I've attached the video. Taken with my phone's camera, next to where the camera is mounted. Other than that, the camera was fine. It was replacing another manufacturer's version of the same camera. I was somewhat disappointed that this camera was unable to support a 30 FPS framerate at 4K. ... show more

The Camera overall is very sturdy, high performance and has a good quality Imager for Superior Image and Resolution. The Pan/Tilt servo motors are fast and responsive, along with very bright and smart IR LED array for good Night vision. Like all, this camera has ONVIF protocol and will work with any NVR or software. The Camera has a 20x1 zoom lens and Focuses quickly after PTZ/Lens commands. This camera has the typical Active/Passive focus pattern while stationary for long periods, the camera will refocus every two minutes but does well at always being in focus after each attempt. I power all my cameras with a separate power cord instead of POE for better stability. Setup is the same as any IP Camera; connect to network, look in router log for IP or find MAC in List, open web browser and type in camera's IP address to gain access to GUI login page. Username: Admin Password: (none) After a few months of use, the only issues that have popped up is that one, this camera doesn't not respond to Preset Commands from my third party NVR (and most PTZ cameras don't) which was not a surprise. And two, in twilight conditions, the camera will get stuck in a back and forth battle between Night Mode and Day Mode for a few minutes until the Light conditions sway more to one side or the other which is not a big deal but it does put extra ware on the ICR Mechanism and internal relays. This doesn't seem to be an issue with other PTZ cameras that I have used. I do highly recommend this camera for all needs of Surveillance Home and Light Commercial. ... show more
