  • Great Little Mower
Style: With Side Discharge Chute
I've been using my Sun Joe model MJ401C-PRO 14-Inch mower for 5+ seasons and I have had no problems or issues with it at all. It cuts my small yard quickly and efficiently. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver. When I'm done mowing, I simply roll it back into the garage and plug it in for the next mowing. It's been a terrific value, especially for the low price. If you have a small yard, I definitely recommend this mower. ... show more

  • So excited, quickly let down
Style: With Side Discharge Chute
Ok let me start by saying I was so excited to finally go cordless electric. I have my whole life used gas push mowers. So I know the ins and outs of gas mowers but know that repairs and priming and pulling and adding gas and oil all are just not fun and want something you just un plug and go. Well it got here and was what i expected. Up until the first wheel snapped off. So it ran beautifully and was light weight easy to menuver the battery lasted everything perfect except the cheap quality of the wheels. The wheel are barely suitable for a kids toy let alone a lawn mower. The wheels are all plastic and the plastic snaps easily at the axle. If they want to use wheels like this the only way I see them lasting is surrounding them with bumpers. The worst part of all is the part is out if stock everywhere including from the manufacturers. This will be a pain to return now. If you plan to use it more gingerly than you would a vacuum than this is the one for you but if you mow and may possibly bump you mower into a fence or rock or any solid object at least once (even if by mistake) this is not the one for you. I'm sorry Sun Joe I hate to do it but man step it up. A few more cents of plastic and we wouldn't be here ... show more

  • SO easy to maneuver!
Style: With Side Discharge Chute
UPDATE: I’ve been using the mower for almost three months with no major issues. Battery holds the charge and I’m able to mow my lawn three full times before needing to recharge. It takes over four hours to fully charge up the battery. Again, the biggest quirk is you have to charge the whole mower. I don’t have an outdoor electrical socket so it’s been a bit of a pain. Something I also noticed is that the mower sometimes changes height settings by itself. I don’t know if it’s my yard incline or changes in thickness of grass(shade/sun) but it’s happened a few times. One side would be on a higher/lower setting than the other. Just something to keep in mind. Original review: I've used this mower twice so far and wish I bought it sooner. As a petite woman you couldn't get a mower lighter than this, you can lift it with one hand. It's like pushing a lightweight stroller. Even up a hill! Assembly was easy. I decided to use the side chute as opposed to the bag. I have a 6000sf property and still have a full charge after I finished mowing. The main quirk is that the whole mower has to be charged, there is no removable battery. There are strict instructions with how long you charge it for. I believe it's four hours. Either way this is much better than the reel mower I've been using. If it fails this summer, I will update! ... show more

  • Does the job!
Style: With Side Discharge Chute
Pros: This mower has a lot of power (for an electric mower)! I have a medium-ish sized yard and this mower cut it all on one charge. I assembled it In less than 10 minutes (I’m terrible at putting things together, so if I can do it, anyone can). I fully charged it upon putting it together and mowed my lawn. It is light weight and super easy to maneuver. It’s small, compared to gas mowers, but I was surprised because it’s not as small as I thought it’d be. Cons: The only two things I don’t really like, but can live with are: it doesn’t have a removable battery, so you have to plug the entire mower in - if you have outdoor plugs, it’s perfectly fine; however, if you don’t have an outdoor plug, you should get an extension cord because you wouldn’t want to bring your mower indoors to charge it. The second thing is that it has a safety key you have to use to start the mower. I do like the safety feature; however, it’s pretty small, so I hope it doesn’t get lost one of these days because then I wouldn’t be able to start it. These are small “inconveniences” and definitely not deal breakers because this mower is great, just things I wish I’d have known beforehand. Side note: I had different electric mower (forgot the brand), it didn’t have near the power, it often took me 2 charges to get my entire yard mowed and it was terrible to maneuver. My previous electric mower lasted about 2 1/2 years and then the battery died - and the replacement battery was almost as expensive as a new mower! It was also much smaller than this one. So, I decided to look for a better mower and I’m so happy I found this one! This is a great price and I’m hoping it will last for many seasons to come! I do love electric mowers because they are far less maintenance, the SunJoe is by far the superior electric mower and I highly recommend for anyone who has a small/medium sized yard! ... show more

  • Love this mower!
Style: With Side Discharge Chute
We have an older model of the Sun Joe mower. It looks almost identical to this newer one, even the same cute green color. We have had it for 9 years and it is still working like a champ. Why did we buy this one, then? Because it is cordless. That simple. Dealing with the cords was becoming a chore in itself. Plugging the cords, connecting the two long cords, picking them up so as not to run them over with the mower, moving them aside, trying not to trip on them, unplugging the cords, etc, etc. This mower is making everything so much easier! It is also lighter than our older model. We are not using the bag. Our yard is kind of big and we would have to empty the bag several times with the corresponding walks to the dumpster which is on the other side of the property. This mower gets rid of the trimmings very easily. All in all it is a great mower, it is cordless, it is very light and it speeds up automatically when it encounters thicker or taller grass. Phenomenal! ... show more
