The Sun Joe Pro rear discharge worked very well for me. Battery charging issues some people posted may because they did not plug in the charger jack into the charge port on Sun Joe. incorrectly like I had initially done. After unboxing and setting up Sun Joe when I first plugged the charger jack into the charging port the green led on the charger remained on. I carefully checked the charger and it correctly put out 29.0 volts. The power indicator on the mower showed yellow and red that charge was needed.The charger falsely showed "Green" full charge. I thought the Charger jack felt lose when I pushed in in the charge port. I tried again and pushed the jack from the charger into Sun Joe with a lot more force. The jack felt like it was pushing on a strong spring, went in deeper, clicked and bottomed. The charger then turned red showing the charge was needed and continued to charge until the led turned full charge green again Initial charge on Sun Joe: 9:15 to 12:15 (charger turned green from red. The bat charge indicator lit all 3 led lit show full charge. Today cut ~ 25X75 of lot (full lot 25/100 feet.) battery showed 3/4 charge..(yellow and Red) on Sun Joe chg ind. It Took from 2:30 to 4:36 to fully charge. Maybe I could have cut have cut the additional 25/75 grass was very fairly low due to the dry weather..Sun Joe Chg indicator showed red and yellow when I quit my trial run. . (Grass cut today was ~-5 inches tall). Motor revved high once when I hit a broken part of a tree limb. Cut off Sun Joe immediately so not as to waste battery at high revs. and then immediately restarted and that reset the lower RPM rate, not wasting battery. All in all a great little mower, light weight, easy to maneuver and battery life good for small areas.

I got because I'm a newly single mom with 3 young kids. This product caught my eye because I am terrified of loud noises (esp with kids playing I wouldn't be able to hear them) and got battery powered so I wouldn't have to pay for crazy gas prices either. Also I can't fix anything to save my life. The assembly and directions are super simple to follow (I can't even put together a table without it wobblying and had ZERO issue assembling solo). MAKE SURE TO CHARGE COMPLETELY FIRST AS DIRECTIONS SAY EVEN THOUGH IT COMES PARTIALLY CHARGED. It is light enough for me to carry one handed if need be (with grass container empty),it is not loud...i was able to clearly hear every "mom" command even with one bluetooth ear piece in . I accidentally went over a few rocks and sticks and they didn't fly crazy far so made me feel more secure in having the kids out while I did (of course try to avoid running stuff over lol) .I have a big yard...again suck at measurements so wasn't sure how far one charge will go. I am insanely impressed with how much I was able to do. It was easy to move along and go around trees and such. I will post an update in a few weeks as I'm sure I'll use a lot by then. I attached pics (markup in red is where I got done with a single charge...I focused on where kids play first I will do the rest on next charge) . I saw a review about catching on fire while charging....the directions clearly say DO NOT OVERCHARGE so I assume/hope that's what happened with that one. The charger plug in has a light that goes from red to green. Sidenote:my yard hadn't been mown in a long time and was crazy long...if keep up with mowing I'm sure battery would get even further then it already does

I would rate the 'mower itself' (when fully charged) 7/10; Battery 1/10 👎 I was very excited to try this mower especially how lightweight and easy it is to start and operate. • The charger plugs right into the mower (wish it had a charging indicator aside). • The mower itself does have a 3 level push button battery indicator but you have to wait until the mower is half way or full to test — but it's not always accurate. • Very easy to start - pull the lever and hit the start button. I absolutely loved how extremely lightweight it is - just like pushing a vacuum. • The mulcher bag it comes with was a nice accessory.....so I thought. It fills up with just one pass (my grass was cut 1.5 weeks prior). It was more of a pain and time consuming, to keep having to empty, so I took it off. The other drawback is how much grass builds up and clogs (dry/damp grass) - that happens with mulcher & without. I had to frequently stop to clear the discharge flap that leaves a mound/pile of grass. I wish it has a side discharge. •Grass-cutting height has 3 manual modes to adjust. I personally didn't see a difference when adjusting. **This mower cuts the grass VERY SHORT- some may not like that especially with new greener grass, or sod. I personally think the grass-cut length is perfect 👌 •The mower will just randomly shut-off during use. You can hear the motor winding down & shuts off. What seemed to help - is allowing it to run for 20-30 seconds prior to mowing. ***MOST IMPORTANT PART = THE BATTERY. Without a good running battery you have no mower. The battery 🔋 is absolute junk junk junk junk! I was NOT expecting the mower to run for 45min or 1-hour but at least 20-30 min tops. Nope - dies quickly. **The listing says with the mower can continously cut up to a quarter acre/ 2150 sq. ft per charge. That is NOT TRUE! At least with the mower I received. • Charging the battery: it takes forever to fully charge. Over the course of a few days, I played around with the battery time when it was fully dead; charged for 3 hours & it didn't put a dent in charging > 6-7 hours battery level was half charged > I started leaving it overnight to fully charge. • I have attached photo of the areas I mowed on a SINGLE CHARGE! It took me 3 days to cut the entire lawn. I even caved in and used the gas mower at the end. • Aside from the battery- I do like the mower 14" size & being lightweight for slim/tight spaces and very small area's. ⭐️➡️➡️ I ended up purchasing a Gr--n W--Ks 20" brushless with TWO rapid chargers. Wow, wow! OMGSH, what a difference all around!!!! I finished my entire yard on a full charge with plenty of battery left. I wish I could return this! But it's too late. Before I purchase the second mower, I wish I wasn't a cheapo and spent more money. Now it cost me even more with the second purchase. I have attached photos of the areas I mowed on a SINGLE CHARGE! It took me 3 days to cut the entire front/back/sides of my yard. I even caved in and used the gas mower at the end. ➡️ If you're looking for a budget mower to cut your small to average size yard, I would suggest $AVE yourself time & get a better mower with a heavier battery - preferably a 'dual battery' mower — the comparison is so night/day. This mower is only good for tight narrow, extremely small yards or sections. *** If money is tight, look on Amazon for an open box deal aka 'Used- like new, Used-good, Used- acceptable' condition — those are customer returns not previously 'used' products or the packaging is damaged or has been repackaged. I save over 50-75% buying that way. 95% of products I purchased, have NEVER been opened. Don't go to warehouse deals section page, a majority of products don't show up there. I would look for a product & see if it offers open box prices OR you can filter your search by going to condition > used. I hope my review was helpful!
